Do you think we could convince Ron to start his own UA-cam channel? You can never have enough Ron
“D&R quips for days!” The newest UA-cam phenomenon
Yes please
Here my vote , ON and ON mighty Ron!!!
Ron just brings so much joy. If any writers /producers in the UK are watching, please hire the man.
Wow, this was incredible. The terrain you covered looks gnarly, and to do it on those bikes (and with that weight), now that's awesome. Rain, mud, heavy bikes - but you and Ron were smiling, cheerful, and funny as always. Exceptional work (video and riding)!
Ernie and Bert. Laurel and Hardy. Dudtin and Ron. ❤️. Thanks for the humour and ride-allong 🤘🏻.
The Boltcutter looks awesome! Ron looks like Ned Overend’s stunt double 🤔😉
No he looks like Captain Turbot!
Ron’s first bike packing experience… what could possibly go Ron??
Would like to know that Garbanzo bean cookie bite recipe. Perhaps in a future episode of Cooking with Abe (& Ron)?
Can't wait to see how the rest of the trip unfolds.
I got you TM!
7:09
we love you dustin but we love ron too
We love you too!
Thank you for that big dose of Ron. I am now happy!
Watching this was so much fun I'm going to do it again. Bikepacking is my favorite way to ride. More time to smell the flowers cuz I'm going so slow.
Ron looks like Captain Turbot from Paw Patrol!!!
Player, awesome. Can't wait to see the next installment.
More to come!
You know what I love about 'by the numbers' segment, you're not talking watts, peak power, and VO2 Max performance. Just the basics.....
Lucky you; on my last bikepacking trip, at about 50 miles in on day one a tiny twig jammed my rear derailleur in the middle of a high-torque climb, to the point that my derailleur twisted into a pretzel and I bent a cog on the cassette. I was forced to cobble together as a single speed and limp out to the closest road for a bail out. Super Bummer - Lucky Dustin!!
That sounds horrendous.
I agree with you I lucked out massively from this, completely by chance.
They little thing made it the rest of the journey as well! I was amazed.
This friendship is stuff of legends
You guys always know how to have a good time!!! Thank you Dustin and Dr. Ron!
Always on point, but today's edit and music were even pointer! Really great road trippy vibe. Yes, a bit of a Ronfomercial, but just wait til he breaks out the special stash of stinky cheese on day 3!
Glory, Suffering, Grit, the Triumph of the Human Spirit.
The next EBD sticker? Take my money if so.
I need more Ron.
Loved the slow mo, Dustin!
You just made my day!!
Good to see Ron again. Love the vid.
My bike usually weighs about 35lbs. Between the 10lbs of dog, the 5lbs of commuting gear, and the 20lbs of bike there's just a lot to juggle.
Am loving this adventure Dustin..... Thank you for creating this.
The fast forward segments down wet slippery roads always makes the hair on my arms stand up!😀
Awesome Dustin! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the adventure. I just got back from a trip myself.
nice episode. cut your weights off, that's the trick! I went for a full month bikepacking trip last summer with less than 28 pounds and it felt great. maybe im the only minimalist while bikepacking..
Ron's gourmet chick-pea power-- Balls coming to a store near you ;)
Looks like some fun riding! I haven't been on my bike in awhile. This makes me need to! Looking forward to the next episodes!
the "rawr" bit was my fave
also that timber trail corduroy hat looks awesome
Ron's the man.
Some of your best content. For real.
Congrats Ron to passing the induction to bikepacking soggyness in classic Ron fashion. I though I was the only one feeling sluggish towing a Buick up a trail. My recent trip bike , camera, drone, gear + 6 days food… 80lbs. When 32x52 still feels like big-ringing it.
That is one epic haul of gear your pulling!!
Well, that’s including the carbon bike… not just gear. Then add my 195lb arse to that contraption. And to others out there bikepacking in the rain / keep wet riding close wet and dry camp close dry, never shall the two mix - life will be better day after day until you can dry everything out. Another trick, get a big big ziplock, stuff your wet rainfly in it… leaving corner open a crack… pre-squish all the water out, sit on it for the final squash.. seal & pack.
my cutty !!! And a fresh video with my dinner. Love it !
Looks like a good time indeed!!!
cant wait to do this next summer!
Beatiful adventure!!! I hope to do it one day
YERBAAA! Love that stuff
I did the Oregon Outback route earlier this year. Long, long stretches of many different types of gravel. This trail looks really interesting with nice mix of single track. Going to need some more low gears though! Nice climb!
Nice to see the Cutty out and about!
Great video like always and don't complain on weight I also ride bikes and I weight 300lbs lol 😆
Climbing sucks but I had success.
Epic! You guys need to make a dedicated series of bike food.
Not 40 but just road 3500 feet of climbing inside 20 miles on a 30lbs MTB, feeling you!
Relevant parallels, my first mtb ride ever(1984)a twig flipped up into the same spot and on the subsequent pedal stroke wrapped the derailleur and hanger aroung the cogset, basically ruining the dropout and frame. Sdfb(so dont feel bad) Secondly, thinking of buying bpking bags so thanks for shaking down the blackburn stuff. Thirdly, if ron needs extra income I'd gladly purchase batches of those garbanzo apple cookies, they sound superperfect! Thanks for being you and having such kickass friends
On my first gravel trip I took a stick to the derailleur, which pushed it into the spokes, which wrapped it around and tore it off. Disaster.
My xtracycle is 52 lb I've got to make that trip I think I need Nobbies not sure if I would have a problem with the extended length of my cargo bike but I could even bring even more junk along
I keep watching these videos and thinking "why do the OTT on gravel bikes???" But you're clearly skilled cyclists, and the best cycling comedy duo in the UA-cams, so I'll keep watching.
I did a trip with friends through Central Oregon when water sources were sparse (or contaminated with agricultural runoff). Our bikes were pushing 90 pounds each.
My memory isn't very reliable when it comes to suffering, but I don't think it was too painful. The pace was extremely slow, but we managed about 5k ft of elevation gain per day.
great video sir.. ride safe always from the PHILIPPINES..
Awesome video, always entertaining. This is going to be a great trip. Hit em.
Those 40lb extra pounds of necessities I have on Dustin are mainly liver, lungs, legs...
Can we get a recipe for Ron's chickpea flour/choccy/apple ball things please!?!?!
5:09 the next 10 seconds are intense
Yeah not eating meat sometimes can suck when you stop in little areas for a snack.
They be all like what you mean you don’t want beef!
In Ron an author? If so, I want to read some of his work. His numerous punchlines and flavourful use of diction and puns has me rolling on the floor.
The route/ride descriptions on the OMTM.cc site are all in Ronglish. Exceptional read(s) if you haven't already.
More of this please ;)
Sorry Dustin but for bikepacking i prefer Apidura Racing Series Packs, ultralight, very strong and absolutely waterproof… i have tried bags for other brands but with poor results, if you have the chance, try them 😅
Thanks for the new installation. Looking forward to the next few days of bikepacking adventure.
On the side, I am relaying my 8-yo daughter's question to you (she frequently is my partner in crime in watching your videos and wants to be a video-maker herself): What software(s) do you use in the production of your vids?
I think my Thorn Raven would top forty pounds with the crap I carry with me.
Wouldn't just pulling a trailer like a Bob Yak or a Burley COHO be so much easier. Plus I would probably go with a 3x9 or 3x10 setup. I can't live without that granny gear off roading. I am surprised more bike packers don't use trailers.
Not enough pushing lol...? Just rode part of the Southern end and what and A** Kicker. Heat, Altitude, and HAF trail.
Dustin, How about a "snack" epiode of all those yummy eats you guys make...
My Unio Oase (Holland city bike) have the weight 20kg. Оnly bike without bags.
Your cutthroat has a suspension corrected fork, so if you put the Fox AX fork you have on your Bombtrack on it shouldn't mess up the geometry. I bet you sure could've used the extra cush on the terrain you covered here!
I actually have a 100mm rockshox fork for this guy Im just waiting for the right moment!
That fox ax fork would be to low as this is corrected for 80-100mm not 40mm. Plus with 100mm fork he can run the 29er tires he currently has on.
My MTB weighs 39 pounds without any baggage. It may be heavy, but it sure is slow. Have you boys had the "big spoon, little spoon" discussion yet, or did you bring separate tents?
Hey man! Guide me through your sram groupset, hows that holding up? Looks like you went to some gnarly stuff. Thanks!
Kind of scary how easily the derailleur battery exploded.
What glasses are those ? The red tinted pilot looking ones lol
what kind of shifting is Ron using on his bike?
Could we get Ron’s bean booster recipe?
Thanks Blackburn for sponsoring this video, but those “one size fit most bags” sure do fit poorly. These days with so many amazing custom frame bag makers it’s hard to understand why anyone would buy an off the shelf bag. Sure you might save a couple of bucks, but the fit is so often so poor and you sacrifice what could otherwise be valuable storage space.
I've missed seeing Ron!
#ronsmoustache
hi Dustin..keep brutal gravel yeah☮️(I'm from Indonesia🇮🇩)
I had a Foes DH mono that weighed about that much….and was 1x also….
Rohloff or Pinion?
Yyyyyyeeeeesssss!👍
Was that Beaverton I saw you come out of?
I wanna know more about Ron.
Tell us about your new tires. From the updated America Classic line-up, correct?
Damn you've got a good eye! these tires are legit
@@EverythingsBeenDone which other ones did you get in for review?
I want the recipe for your first snack.
i got a 14.6 kg (32.12lb in the other system) GT hybrid that ive slapped into a gravel bike of sorts, sucks balls but no bikes and no money so its what i have
A friend told me to always carry an extra etap battery just in case one goes out....now also for something like what happened to you.....
new tshirt idea: Cannibalize Normalis
DIG!!
I was hoping for this to be at least 30 minutes long
Doggy my bike weighs 41 pounds with the 27.5 wheelset and thats just riding it to work and back. Loaded down? Ungodly. Rides like a dream though
Dry inside...wet outside....ain't that the truth Ruth. Rugged riding players. Big thanks for the vlog as always. Peace.
battery powered derailleur = asking for that
Ron can I get the recipe for those chickpea power cookies?
I don't even ride I fly fish, but I'm into watching other people ride, I know I have problems,
climbing fully loaded is a bear!
FACT ;)
When did you get the cutthroat? Those are sick, I’ve always wanted to ride one.
Ive had a for a bit: ua-cam.com/video/oqGSvEsK4Ko/v-deo.html
I seriously love this bike. Feels so stable and capable.
Bruh please, we see that Sports Formula Snickers(tm)
YUM!!
Re. the thumbnail: Yes.
I don’t wanna go.
My bike weighs 31lbs... but it has 170mm of travel. B)
"Extra fatty dink flet crit monster scotch" Yeeeeah, the automatic subtitles aren't quite there yet. XD
Steel fs trail bike is 34lbs. Kind of porky.
My bike weighs 41 lbs with a third of that load 😂
