' Boomer"..I have embraced the " salt and pepper " for close to 20 years..I have always loved the silver or mixed ..and it is a natural part of life .....just beautiful!..I wish more would embrace it instead of what I call the " Shoe Polish Black". .This lady looks beautiful ..good job!

I’m a 69 year old woman who has been wearing my hair in its natural silver/white color since 2007, when I decided to let go of all the bother of color touchups every two weeks and the costs involved. So despite the fact that having gray hair was considered a fashion faux pas back then, I knew better. I decided to jump in front of that bus for the lot of us and buck the trend! I hopped on the silver express train instead, and never looked back.
I wish I had a dollar for every time I was complemented on my hair since then. It has been so nice to see women considering that option for themselves, and I always encourage them to free themselves to be their best self ever. What probably surprised me most is how many men said they thought it was beautiful, and how they wished the women in their lives (wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, etc.) would do the same. Who knew?
Although my grandmothers each passed on to me some wonderful hair genes, texture from one and color from the other, I was pleased to see that the condition of my hair became much healthier after discontinuing the color treatments. Saving money? Check. Healthier hair? Check. Win-win!
I do still struggle with thinning hair, but that’s a thyroid issue. Can’t have it all, but flaunt what you got ladies! In our silver years, we’ve earned it.
Ms. Minnie, you are a radiant inspiration to us all and I love your spirit! Stay in your power.

I'm 69 with natural silver highlights in my dark blonde hair. It's wonderful to receive compliments on my shoulder-length curly hair. Especially from a stylist. 😊 I let my chemical highlights grow off about 17 years ago. When the wisdom lights appeared. 😂
When the young women & girls starting embracing gray hair, I figured it was time to embrace my natural hair going gray. It is no longer a symbol of being old imo.😊
