  • We took a caravan roadtrip up the coast of California in a bunch of vintage VW buses rented out by Vintage Surfari Wagons, a vw bus rental company based in Orange County California.
    We stopped in:
    Malibu
    Carpenteria
    Cayucos
Harmony (not pictured in this video)
    Cambria
    Los Olivos
and then back to home base in Costa Mesa
Here is our full itinerary and the link to book this same trip!

Julie!! your vlogs are the cutest 🙈🙈 also, VW Buses are so common here, as a matter of fact Brazil was the last country to stop manufacturing them, but we only use them to transport cargo (or people irregularly/illegally, because they have no seatbelts)

Nathan drove the whole time because I was too nervous lolll. He definitely got the hang of it but I think the weirdest part was having such a huge steering wheel and having to move it SO far to turn!! And being so top heavy when it was windy! But by the end of the trip it seemed like he was totally used to it!
Also yessss his cooking demo- I agree 🙌

Why? Don't you know you could have a Country Squire or a.Custum Cruiser instead? American station wagons had unique features like window defrosters and heaters. Not to mention air conditioning. Plus they had V8 engines so they could do things like go up a hill faster than 30 miles per hour. We had one of those VW buses when I was a kid and I cannot understand why anyone would want one today.

Same reason people prefer taking the coast vs driving up the 5.
