I love this film. Romantic, intrigue... It has all... And the music!!! Perfect... And of course... Ingrid and Peck... So marvelous.

Fantastic film to this day ! The strange art of Salvadore Dahli and the master of suspense Hitchcock, what could be better ?

The PTSD or shell-shock issue also turns up in the Lord Peter Wimsey detective novels by Dorothy L Sayers written during the years between the two world wars of the last century. We're told that her hero was almost buried alive in a collapsed trench by a shell falling nearby and when he's under stress he's portrayed as getting flashbacks, sometimes triggered by something totally unwarlike such as a heavy lorry passing his flat.
I remember watching this film on British evening TV at the tender age of about 9 or 10. We had another family with us in our holiday house, and inspired I think by the film my friend from that family and I had a great time fantasising about something we called 'The Third Presence' - always shadowy but always there & you didn't quite know what would happen!
A very interesting and important topic in all ages.
