Just a Thanks from me and the Mrs , we have been watching a few of your vlogs , and learnt a LOT , we have had our MH for 18 months and enjoyed every minute , got some really good ideas and places to visit thanks to your efforts , and we went up winnats pass after watching your vid , i know you went down it , so new you could handle thew upside of things !! did not no what a HUD display was i do know , great stuff Thanks guys
I fitted a similar one and being tall it’s been a game changer for me as can see the speed easily without having to duck down and look at the dash speedo. All the best, David 👍
Thanks for the installation video. I found my HUD to work straight out of the box is very unlikely. To configure you need a good hour with no interruptions and read the manual many times. Your device turning on and off by itself could be one of the settings monitoring battery voltage. Using a B2B will add complications on voltage config as it will monitor a higher voltage on the leisure battery. Luckily the MPH and KMH are relatively simple to change. Don’t give up and keep reading the setup sheet I would suggest to anybody and if possible buy a unit with limited functions to set up.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. It absolutely worked straight out of the box and the only thing I needed to change was from kmh to mph. We don’t have any b2b on our van so no issues there.
Hi again Slaws, at the risk of being a pain🤔 we are planning to drive to Amboise next week can I ask what roads and numbers ( route) you used and also what did you pay in tolls, thanks for the help ❤️ cheers
Hi guys loving ya vlogs - quick question - how do you drain down your fresh water tank on helga? I have a 2012 hobby and can't see any way of emptying it for winter Kind regards mark
Hi Mark, our 2016 model has a little wheel on top of the tank under the seat. That opens a valve to drop the water. Our 2012 model had a lever valve on the pipe work from the tank. Good luck 👍🏻
I didn’t realise you could buy these. Being tall it’s hard to see the vehicle speedometer so this gadget is ideal. Did you use the plastic film on the windscreen ?
Hi Mr S, I bought the same one after watching your videos and every time I plug it in it stops the hill hold function for some reason, did you see any problems? Regards Chris
Hi Simon Reference your hud unit. Are you able to change the colour of the projected image? Other units project white, I prefer yours as it’s green I believe. With the amorox a8 unit from Amazon, are you able to remember what price it was? Albeit a couple of years ago? Off to France in May and don’t want to be caught by the Gendarmes! Could be painful lol. Many thanks Peter Kim and Bentley
Hi Peter Kim and Bentley. I purchased it in July 20 for £40 from Amazon. It is called a Aramox A8. Here's the link from Amazon although its dearer now. amzn.eu/d/gtDKQP4
Hi Simon Well we are in southern France heading to Port Grinauld! I fitted the exact same hud unit as you and I must say it’s a game changer over here inFrance. As you know it’s impossible to read the small red kmh on the Ducati so having the hud in place was Perfect. Just one question for you today, have you ever noticed your warning lights come on on the dash when the hud is connected? This morning when setting off they lit up like Blackpool and I thought I had serious issues with the van. However I stopped switched off, switched off the hud, restarted the van and then turned hud back on, all lights went out and all normal! I think in the first instance I turned hud on first, then the van? Anyway it appears ok now, just thought I’d ask cos I panicked a bit. This might help others also! Best wishes to Anne, Regards Peter, Kim and Bentley 😁👌🍺nice!
@@hymerman1898 hi, we’ve never had this? We’ve turned on the HUD before the van with no problems either. Safe travels and hope you love PG as much as we do 🚍☀️
Hello mate I've bought the same Hud as you for our 2014 burstner motorhome fiat ducato van . Ours plugs in the exact same as yours it lights up perfectly but when I turn the ignition on it says hill start fail and ESP fail check manual I was just wondering if you ever got any fail lights ? Cheers Scott.

Just watched your vlog recommended by Graham Rawley. It was so easy to fit the HUD. Thanks.
Glad to help!
Great little video Mr Slaw, a useful little gadget
Nice one Slaw, 👍

Hi, if you look at our vlogs of France, Mrs Slaw does a maps section at the end of each day with all the info 👍🏻

Hi Scott. No I didn’t have any warning lights come up. Have you unplugged it and tried it to see if they are still coming on.
What is the name & model number of head up display you are using?
Hi, it’s an Aramox A8 HUD. We bought it two and a half years ago.

It's on the wrong side of the vehicle though lol 😆
...and goodness they don't make the obd easy to access do they?
