I'm 64 too and have been skating for 34 years. I read the Eckart Tolle book The Power of Now which made me realise that skateboarding puts you in the present moment and is good for the mind. I'm a recent convert to an electric skateboard which has allowed me to keep rolling. Thanks for this video. :)

I'm also 64 and into Eckhart Tolle as well. I totally agree.

As a 59.5 year old traditional skater that has recently discovered snowboarding, surfskate and now evolve eskate I've realised how important being in Flow is, and just how well I feel after any ride with great Flow. So happy to see this being discussed seriously. Alec dude you are a legend m8

Fantastic video!!... So much of what he was saying, I was beginning to feel like I was the only one saying it; like how he's not really 'into' speed, but more into 'carving'!... but what really tripped me out about this vid, is that whenever I go for a ride on my Evolve board, I always say 'I'm going out to do my Therapy"!! 😅

Anothergreat video by Evolve. I can relate to this as a Life Coach and someone who has experienced depression as well.

I would love to be able to adjust the kingpin's on the fly. Hit a button on the remote to tighten for your straight line speed runs or commutes, hit another button on the remote to loosen so you can lay down your soul arch turns while your just cruising.

“Red Krips” brilliant. Brings me back to 76 and a board with Red Krips and carving up the campus of Cal Berkeley. Wow, great approach to mental well-being.

Yes! The Red Krips were sooooo much better (faster, grippier, smoother, quieter!) than the first urethane wheels I had (which were Gecko's on ACS430 trucks).

It’s all about the ride, never speed for me.

Smooth carving, feel like flying... speed is not important to me. You re right.

Really great to hear someone who knows their stuff confirm what I have believed most my life on pure faith.
For me personally skating brings peace, happiness and confidence like no other activity and love sharing my world with anyone seeking skate enlightenment.
On a personal note to Alex, please pm me when your ready to start sliding as some good friends and I would love to help you with this goal.
Peace and love to all ;0)

Hi Mat, Thanks! I'm definitely interested in taking you up on that offer! It's probably a little too cold and wet right now, but I'm looking forward to getting back to my street wheel setup before long. Those 97mm wheels are not yet properly broken in - I used them at one of the Evolve Absolute Karting events and a few local rides but they still feel pretty smooth.

How can one access the battery diagnostics menu on a R2 Remote for a Carbon GTR? I bought in 2020 March brand new.

    • @evolveSkateboards

There is no battery diagnostics on the GTR remote.

yeah for some reasons they decided to hide it… 🤔 i m guessing it s about money? but why? why would hiding stats about the battery health of your board would help them not losing money?

Wow, so many police vehicles (more than civilians) after they pulled you over - is that normal there? Uncertain about the laws there but glad they didn't ticket you for riding an e-board!

Is PSYCHOtherapist really the best way to phrase things? Isn't it more considerate to just say therapist? Not all who need therapy are PSYCHOS...

    • @EarthAcademy9
      @EarthAcademy9 3 роки тому +1

Physcho doesn't refer to people being psycho. If it did, it would be spelled psychostherapy. The 'psycho' refers to this: The term psychotherapy is derived from Ancient Greek psyche (ψυχή meaning "breath; spirit; soul") and therapeia (θεραπεία "healing; medical treatment").
