Thank you for showing my program. A very good review. I have also made a Web MIDI version of this program that will work on all platforms directly from a web page with a web browser that supports Web MIDI API.
Set up D-550 to recieve SYSEX Press TUNE. Select Protect with the white single right arrow button and set it to OFF. Press EXIT. Press and hold down DATA TRANS. Select B.Load with the white single right arrow button and then press ENTER. Release the DATA TRANS button. The display should now show "Are you sure?". Press ENTER to confirm.
Thank you for this information! I need to change the battery in my D-50 first. My Keyboard is over 20 years old never had to change battery. Didn't even know there was a battery.
If I had a D-50 and had to have the cards, I get the D-05 and get all the cards and D-05 unique content. It is sysex compatible with the D-50 and D550. Since I don’t have a D-50, I accepted the D-05 as a acceptable substitute.
Hi Brilliant video thanks. Ive just purchased a D50 with a flat internal battery for a bargain price, so I'll definitely be trying this. I have two questions - is the internal Eprom memory in the D50 big enough to hold all the .syx files from the cards?, or do you have to load a card 'as and when' you want to use a particular card, I'm guessing not - as is the memory overwritten each time you load a new card? Also, can you recommend/link a USB to MIDI interface cable that works with the D50 & this software (I know alot of the cheap ones dont work) Thank you in advance
Greetings from Norway 😊 I just bought a Roland D-50 and it sounds amazing. But I would also like to achieve this. How do you connect the synthesizer to the PC? Appreciate an explanation 😁 Do you have to have an interface with midi in/out? I have tried with a cheap one from ebay, with midi connectors at one end, and usb at the other. I get it up and running, but the PC can't send over to the synth, it just says waiting....
I am facing "Data Transfer Error" with my Roland D50 when i try to load patches from computer by a midi cable. It is maybe version 2 Roland D50. So what can I do?Anybody help me.
SynthFellow, I'm confused about your instructions for a SysEx transfer, especially with the "Press the Split Point button" part. Maybe it's different with my D-550? Pressing and holding Data Transfer gives a menu showing "B Dump B Load Int>Crd Crd>Int". You move the left and right cursor to make your selection. This is where you get "Are you Sure?". Worked for me for years. Is this something on the keyboard version?
I haven't had the opportunity to do this on the D550 but since the layout of buttons is different I guess that the way you describe it is the correct way. If anyone else who reads this knows something about it you're welcome to comment on this :) Do you mean it doesnt work for you?
I'm hoping you will know the answer to this. I changed the battery in my room d50 and it does not hold the sounds in its memory. Occasionally it says check internal battery even though I know it's brand new and working I tested it. The battery is held securely in its slot. Any ideas?
@@synthfellow oh, i completely.forgot about this. Yes! It all worked out fine in the end. I restarted my PC and then it worked somehow. I think my USB port might be weakenend. Thank you!
Sorry for late answer. Check midicables, are they connected right? did you turn of the memory protect on the D50? Have you set the correct channels in both the program and the D50?
@@synthfellow Yes and thank you for feedback , i got 2 cables goes to my audio interface so that is okey,as the midi channels are set in MIDI 1 channel both...allthough still cant run the cards...The good thing is that i can run all the syx you have in d50 folder from bomesendfx so i am really okey.Iam deeply greatfull for this folder thank you kindly

Hi Pekka, is your Web MIDI App for the D50 available for people to download or buy? If so where can I find it please? Thanks. Iain.

Hello, ROLAND? THIS is why you should incorporate Sysex into your Boutique synths! Thanks for sharing this.
Great point!
this is why they should also do re-issues of old synths. D-05 is fine, but an actual D-50 re-issue would be wicked.

Hello, I need to change the battery too. Bit I'm not sure if I will lose all the midi sounds that are added on the keyboard. Any idea?
Excellent work... thank you so much..! nice channell
Thank you!!
Muchas gracias Sr...! Saludos y bendiciones! LIKE!
wonderful .
:) Thank you
Hypersynth's HCARD-750 for the Roland D-50 is another option. You can copy any SysEx files (up to 4096 presets) on single card.
Hypersynth HCard is fantastic. And they make em for other synths too :)
Do you think HCard contains the same patches as the roland cards?
Nice! but they want too much money for it,€ 259.50 that's crazy I can probably find a D550 for that much.
Ibfound 249euros to be too expensive
Thanks! my friend this was a great find for me :)

You can only transfer one card at a time. And I use a E-mu usb to midi cable.

Be aware of cheap USB to Midi adapters! If i rember the one i used was a E-Mu midi to usb-adapter.
can you also save custom patches via usb to pc? or is the roland memory card required?
It’s been a while since I used it but I think it can be done
What interface do you need to have between your computer and the D50 to accomplish this?
A usb to midi cable. But stay away from the cheap ones on eBay. Mine is made by E-Mu systems but anything will work.

Hi, i need d50 flash cards, by the way, i have 12Ram 256,but i need yours, how can i buy?
My cards are not for sale. They come up quite often on ebay and Reverb...
These are not the same presets that are on HCard right?
How do you use the card? I got one for Christmas and it doesn't do anything when I insert it.
Just instert it and press the button named "card". Then you can choose the sounds on the card.

Yes I believe you will. And the internal sounds too.
