I use to own the previous Generation of this Toyota Corolla Altis. its really a workhorse. no major, not even minor issue. the only thing is a warped the brake disc i went car wash straight after a long drive. and only cost $80 bucks to replace. The aircon from Toyota is also top notch really.. no maintainance, no repair, stays cold for full 10 years. super impressive..
back then, i once did an hour and 15mins from JB to Malacca with this workhorse. cruising between 160kmh and 200kmh is effortless. of course, with good tyres and traffic.
what i like about this altis is that you can deep clean the interior and polish the car and it will look like new again! Pretty good quality materials used
I purchased my pre owned Toyota Corolla Altis 2010 in Dec 2021 and still loving it. Its a real pity that this car has to be scrapped at the end of COE in Feb 2025. Still drives pretty well. Can't believe I'm going to cry over my car going to the scrapyard.
Can’t really argue against the Corolla Altis if you are someone who is just looking for a Point A to Point B private transport with minimum frills and maintenance. There’s a reason why this car is still running today on roads as taxis across so many Asian cities. WORKHORSE!!
I have a 2008 corolla altis and I'm telling you guys since 2008 til this day i never experienced any break downs not even an engine light on my dash board just some minor things like low batteries, change oil just the maintenance stuff but other than that nothing
Very good review! By the way can you do a review of the 2005 - 2011 toyota mark x? Last time i had a friend who drove a 2008 mark x and i really like it. From the looks to the performance!
How about Kia Forte 2009 and Hyundai Avanti 1.6 they use same engine and they got manual transmission .I driver Forte manual transmission one full tank can travel 700 Km plus until now.back them is cost 40K over brand New.
Hows the petrol consumption since its 14 year old car. Is it still very efficient? I tried coe renew honda stream n kia cerato n the fuel efficiency is so poor
It a great and comfortable car to go from point A to B.. glad to have one and grow together Fuel consumption to add on is 11.7Km/litre. Not that fabulous though
The horsepower is wrong. As this is the pre facelift version, it’s using the old engine with only 107bhp. The facelift version came with the more powerful dual VVT-i engine. But it’s still pretty decent enough to get you around places. With some careful driving, you can average an impressive 11km/L for mixed city and highway driving.
Understand that this is a 2008 car but I am sure viewers would appreciate a car in better condition. Painful to watch for car owners who actually take care of their cars. Yellow headlights and dented door panels not a pleasant sight. Unless you're doing a makeover then show the before and after. Hogwash.
Theres nth wrong with reviewing as it is car condition. Most 08 09 Altis will look more or less this way. In fact, show us the peeling leather, the washed out plastics, the ding and dangs on the doors. If I'm watching a used car review, I would want to know how the car is holding up after 14 years of usage. Let's be honest, not every car owner will take car of their car impeccably. This is a realistic representation of how most Altis will look. I wouldn't want to be catfished by an Altis when I walk into a used car showroom.
@@hellopanda7171 I didn't mention anything wrong with the car condition (not in the way you are insinuating anyway), just stating my personal preferences. It is fine for you to not agree with me. On that note, if you are agreeable to buy a car of this condition then please go ahead. I will not comment on your choice of preference - but it's not for me.
@@mj6891l You've obviously edited your original post. I disagreed with your initial thumbs down on sgcarmart choosing a less than perfect car for a USED CAR review. That's all.
hello, please dont anyhow recommend this 2008 model, cannot make its damn lousy ! my dad owned this new car in 2008 Dec at 51K Includes COE $1. this car sucks, just 3 mths car can't start, in first year tow back 3 times BORNEO motor check.. 2nd year got recall , due to steering rack shaft faulty, body so rolling due to suspension soft like tofu, steering so light like toy car, very heavy fuel consumption, full tank only 420KM refill lights up... Sold on the 7th year mileage done only 40K+ , sold $48K.... owned 7yrs, lost $4K, a good deal. BUT No more altis... its damn lousy QUALITY OF ALL TIME.

Nice! You should start this series of reviewing old COE cars like cerato!!

Yup I think after a long 10 years and renewed another 10 years give it a fresh new life engine rebuild gearbox rebuild especially the ac system.

This is the locally fitted rim for the 1st few batches registered in march 2008 (SJC/D plated) to around May/June 2008 before they switched design
Agree 101% Great review.
I have 2009 corolla altis 1.8 G vvti

Please review the face-lift mitsubishi attrage
Can do a review of the odd and elusive Honda Edix ? The 3 seats infront is really unique..cant find it in other car models
What to check on Buying 2008 Model altis and it's common issues ?
What's your choice for a cheap and good starter car?
Mitisubishi Attrage
i dont recall him driving with his seats reclined so much. finding things to pick on??
Honda Stream RSZ for families.
A toyota vios would be a good car for starters.

I don't think this version of vvti engine produce 121 bhp. Should be 107 to 109 bhp range.
I recall the dual VVT-i 121 bhp launched on this version's facelift around 2010-2011.

Mitsubushi GLX CS3 would be great !
hyundai elantra AD pls! 2016/2017 model
Best if can review a few gen of the Elantra/Avante together. Side by side up till the newest Avante. Interesting to see the evolution.
Maybe a Hyundai Avante 2009😮
Alamak the right side boko dented?
Yes 😭
Maybe a review of the BMW 2 Series AT/GT
Way more reliable than the newer altis, new altis step full a few times CVT overheat already
Review the same gen Honda Civic and compare the 2
Compare it to a 14yr old porsche 911. See if it runs fine or run excellent? Running fine is a pretty low bar. A 14yr old bus also runs fine
Old Mitsubishi 4g15 30 years old still run no problem.
Maybe the b&b 1.8 2007 FD1 Civic
A toaster on wheels. 0% awesomeness. 100% reliable.
A toaster that never breaks down has its own sex appeal. . . lol
If this car at its state is a WILL BUY for you - then any car would be a will buy later on.
at 12:53 he was driving in the wrong lane
anyone noticed this?
No, you're wrong.

Try the 2nd hand 2019 KIA Cerato GT line
Get a vios(cheaper). It's too small
