Y'all look how 42st NYC Looked back in the day. And look @ 42st now time's has definitely changed. ❤ Debbie Allen & Phylicia Rashad. ❤ their Sistership. Always Classy and elegant.
It is so 80's!!!! It had a little bit of everything...jugglers, expensive cars, dancing sailors, Asian photographer, NYC sites, attractive men, tourist, back flips....what didn't they put in this video. Nice memory from two very talented ladies who have grown so much artistically.
Same here. Just think......if there was no UA-cam or internet, we still would not have seen all of the content we didn't have exposure back in the day. We did not get cable until about '88 or '89. So if the artists did n ot come on Friday Night Videos, Soul Train or an awards show, I did not see their performances. And oh yeah, Word Up and Right On magazines were my internet. Lol!
Oh My GoD! I have never seen this before. These are two of my all time favorite television and film stars how I have never seen this I will never know. These two sisters were the Queens of NBC. Debbie from the show FAME which she starred, Choreographed and directed. And if you don't recognize Phylicia from The Cosby Show take a second look. Both have been on Broadway as well, one very talented family! Thank you for sharing this with us.
I never saw this either until today, 10/22/23. Thank God for UA-cam! There's so many videos and interviews that I never saw growing up because we did not get cable until about '88 or '89. By that time Rap had taken over so a lot of the 80s content was not being shown. Plus, even with cable, there were only so many platforms for videos, interviews, etc. to be shown for artists.
The girls better be glad these two didn't release a full album. They weren't even trying here, just goofing off, and they sound better than most "singers" in the business currently.
@@COMPACTTVHD She couldn't loosen up with Cosby on her back. Working with him back then she had to keep it at a minimum. Probably thought about him the whole time during the making of this video.
That's what I I'm thinking. I love them; but what the hell were they think here 😂 This is terrible. The music is horrible. The dresses and hair are so 80s. Phylicia is singing like she's on Broadway instead of singing a pop song; and the mix is terrible. But did my girl Debbie bust a rhyme at the end. 😂
The young man that they sat next to in the suit played a student in A Different World. Well he definitely resembles the one who played an extra in the show. I loved that show!!😉👍🏾
The song itself is like a song a tv show would throw together for a fake group. Especially the rap. But they flex here by shutting down traffic and filming in times square. Also, homeboy from A Different World as one of the admirers was cool
Abysmal. But thanks for sharing! :-p The vocals sound like they was recorded live in one take. Was this produced by Jam & Lewis? Because that synth is a lawsuit-grade lift of WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY?!
Just realized whoever produced this track used similar chords from ....What have u done for me lately
Debbie Allen usually takes control but here you can tell she looks at Phylicia in the way little siblings look at their older ones.
Yes! I noticed that too
well put
True, I’ve notice that at the beginning, lol 🤪😂😈
Maybe Debbie had her reasons because Phylicia was a drug addict.
They are both actresses, so I'm sure their demeanor and reactions were preplanned and intentional.
I love this ...
Yes the dancing..singing and rqpping ....and Debbie is still married to Norm Nixon ...
Their lovely mother raised 2 beautiful confident independent ladies who celebrated each other without jealousy and sibling rivalry !! I love it!
I don’t care what anyone say, it was cute seeing them show their fun side. Cute video! Took me back to the 80’s!!!
Exactly. There’s always some haters who gotta talk🙄
Very cute with their then husbands Debbie and Nixon are still solid over 40 yrs strong.
Its litt from 1989 lol debbie tv special

Debbie is not that, but Phylicia is. Debbie is funky and gritty and sexual.

I feel like if they actually tried, they could have been HUGE music starts, but clearly this was just them having fun. Love it
I love that they jumped in the car with their husband’s 😊❤
Nice touch to have their actual husbands in the video.
Oh My! I completely forgot they did this
How id it that I have never seen this slice of delight?!Love it!

Yesssss! I had no idea they did a song together...yet alone a music video!!
It was a sketch/tv special… I remember watching it with my Auntie lol
Me either lol
Damn Phylicia Rashad was my TV crush. Lawd! Lol
Finally researched the producer. I thought it was JJ and Terry Lewis. Its actually Kashif and Nick Trevisick.
Yes.
Sounds similar to what have you done for me lately.
This was one of my favorite movies! So glad I found the name if it!
It's so cute to see Norm Nixon, and (now ex) Ahmad Rashad, in the video.
❤❤❤❤
Their brother Hugh is in the video too. I wish Tex was in it too:

I love this video because it shows old New York! How come nobody talks about it!
I was today years old seeing this. Hilarious and cute. Love the way Debbie plays herself down to defer to her big sister...💜
I remember watching this when I was 4 or 5...I wouldn't be surprised Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced this song
It sounds too much like What Have You Done for me Lately! That's what I wanna know, whether or not they produced it.
Sounds like a Jam and Lewis production. I've never seen this before. Cute! ❤️❤️
Lmao at Debbie’s lil move she does when she sees Norm in the car. I love this! Sisters just having fun.
The girls better be glad these two didn't release a full album. They weren't even trying here, just goofing off, and they sound better than most "singers" in the business currently.
I was today years old 😂 who knew wow love these ladies
1:44 those are their husbands in the car how cute
1:10 their brother Hugh
I remember this!! lol These two are still amazing!!! True all around talent
Similar to Janet Jackson What Have you done for me Lately
Someone should do a mashup of this!
Ikr! Giving me Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis vibes. ❤️
@@danavixen6274 Sweet!

If anyone is calling Phylicia anything other than fabulous, please search “Phylicia Allen j'ai deux amours”, and get your life. 💃🏽 🤣😂😅

Debbie and (as she calls her) long-legged Phylicia. These two are the epitome of sisterly love!!!!
So much diversity with these two I'm loving it! They always bring it whenever a camera is pointed their way,
Loved the 80’s.
Love it..love it...classic
The young man that they sat next to in the suit played a student in A Different World. Well he definitely resembles the one who played an extra in the show. I loved that show!!😉👍🏾
That’s actually their little brother, Hugh. He was in the intro and he was Quincy Lee, the country boy from Jasper, Texas.
@@jayporterrNoooo! That country bumpkin from ADW is their brother?!😂
@@sheranda77 yep their younger one 😭
@@jayporterr I'm so done!

1:10 their brother, my frat brother Hugh Allen

This is so cute and so 80s.
Oh Snap I never saw this back in the 80s
I so remember when this came out in the late 80's. I was impressed that Phylicia could dance. It was a different role than Claire Huxtible. Lol
This warms my ❤️
The guy at 1:09 has been in A Different World episodes if I remember correctly. I love it!
WOW, didn't know they made a music video.

Me too, this is trippy
Same here... But I never saw it before Dola posted it. Its soooo 80s and I can't stop smiling 😁😆😆😆😆😍
Does anyone else notice how much Norm Nixon is enjoying this?❤ Ahmad Rashad? Nope.
It must have been tough to be Phylicia's little sister!
love this
Wow I love this ❤️
Fun👍👍 Way to go ladies❣
NYC Timesquare...🔥🔥🔥🔥👑Sisters 👑
Phylicia was 41 years old in this video? 😍

Bernadette (jj sister good times) is finer then both of them
And she looking great
And they’re both still beautiful women

This was from a special they did... They had their mom and brother in one part.
