Their system revolves around idols, boy-bands, and girl-bands. He's been with YG for half of his life, so he is trying to do this respectfully.
I think this video perfectly sums up why Taeyang and BIGBANG have done so well internationally. They have always incorporated other races and cultures into their music (in their dances, mv's and style) while still remaining true to their Korean roots. On a not so serious note, I had a hard time finding Taeyang in this vid coz he wasn't shirtless... what's all that about?

+Isabelle Robinson i guess its because we dont really feel an asian vibe from them. if you compare big bang to the rest of the idol groups out right now, they are probabilyt the minority in a sense of both music and style. when i see a group like exo or bts, it gives me a sense of what k-pop is, but big bang matches and goes well beyond that. they aren't afraid to go out of their comfort zone to try something else. i mean i still remember when they released haru haru, lies, sunset glow, etc., and those are vastly different than the style of music they are producing now. it has more of that american-westernized swag to it.

I went to film school, and although I went on to shoot docs instead of features or mvs, I can attest that this one mv has probably the hardest directing I've ever seen MV-wise. KPop has the best dancing MVs, I can think of few really good ones outside KPop post Michael Jackson era. Sia from Australia and Stromae from Belgium are probably the best ones.
My only problem with most KPop video's, especially videos prior to 2010 is that they never really focus on the moves enough. They learn all that choreography and it is so hard to really gather how good they are at it because the angles are constantly changing. It gets a little bothersome when you are trying to highlight the beauty and awesomeness to a non-loving KPop fan. They get so flustered trying to keep up with all of it that they just give up and write them off. Makes me sad, lol. Mind you, i'm African American so people are always asking me why I'm so into it. It's simple, I have girls, and KPop is the most innocent, well thought out entertainment I have ever come across and I feel zero guilt exposing them to it on a daily basis. Heck, if they pick up the language while I'm watching Kdrama's that will be even better. LMAO.
Mrsjessquintero yes!!! exactly. I get annoyed too at the constant angle changes (they might insert 2/3 shots in within one second) plus the neon lightening. It makes the dancing quality a lot harder to perceive for casual fans or first time fans. This video however takes care of that problem beautifully with two continuous shots, which is precisely why I respect this MV so dearly. I don't know any Korean, but wish your girls all the luck in learning it :)
Taeyang gotta be one of the most well-rounded Kpop artist in the history of Kpop (along with his bandmate GD). Not only he's good at what he does, he's best at it. He's the main dancer, the main vocal, he can rap, and not to mention he also composes. Usually each person takes one role in a group but that's not the case for Big Bang. They may complete each other as a group but they can easily pass if they took off as a solo artist. The most complete group in Kpop history.

2013년 당시 처음 봤을 때부터 정말 센세이셔널하게 충격적인 안무와 퍼포먼스였는데, 거진 10년이 지났는데도 이런 간지는 아직도 본 적이 없다. 태양의 명곡이 많지만, 퍼포먼스적으로 where u at과 더불어 이 곡은 한국 가요 안무역사에 한획을 그은 작품이 아닐까 생각함. 시간이 아무리 흘러도 주기적으로 생각나고 찾아보게 된다.

I think this video perfectly sums up why Taeyang and BIGBANG have done so well internationally. They have always incorporated other races and cultures into their music (in their dances, mv's and style) while still remaining true to their Korean roots.
On a not so serious note, I had a hard time finding Taeyang in this vid coz he wasn't shirtless... what's all that about?

+Isabelle Robinson i guess its because we dont really feel an asian vibe from them. if you compare big bang to the rest of the idol groups out right now, they are probabilyt the minority in a sense of both music and style. when i see a group like exo or bts, it gives me a sense of what k-pop is, but big bang matches and goes well beyond that. they aren't afraid to go out of their comfort zone to try something else.
i mean i still remember when they released haru haru, lies, sunset glow, etc., and those are vastly different than the style of music they are producing now. it has more of that american-westernized swag to it.

I went to film school, and although I went on to shoot docs instead of features or mvs, I can attest that this one mv has probably the hardest directing I've ever seen MV-wise.
KPop has the best dancing MVs, I can think of few really good ones outside KPop post Michael Jackson era. Sia from Australia and Stromae from Belgium are probably the best ones.
My only problem with most KPop video's, especially videos prior to 2010 is that they never really focus on the moves enough. They learn all that choreography and it is so hard to really gather how good they are at it because the angles are constantly changing. It gets a little bothersome when you are trying to highlight the beauty and awesomeness to a non-loving KPop fan. They get so flustered trying to keep up with all of it that they just give up and write them off. Makes me sad, lol. Mind you, i'm African American so people are always asking me why I'm so into it. It's simple, I have girls, and KPop is the most innocent, well thought out entertainment I have ever come across and I feel zero guilt exposing them to it on a daily basis. Heck, if they pick up the language while I'm watching Kdrama's that will be even better. LMAO.
Mrsjessquintero yes!!! exactly. I get annoyed too at the constant angle changes (they might insert 2/3 shots in within one second) plus the neon lightening. It makes the dancing quality a lot harder to perceive for casual fans or first time fans. This video however takes care of that problem beautifully with two continuous shots, which is precisely why I respect this MV so dearly.
I don't know any Korean, but wish your girls all the luck in learning it :)

Taeyang gotta be one of the most well-rounded Kpop artist in the history of Kpop (along with his bandmate GD). Not only he's good at what he does, he's best at it. He's the main dancer, the main vocal, he can rap, and not to mention he also composes.
Usually each person takes one role in a group but that's not the case for Big Bang. They may complete each other as a group but they can easily pass if they took off as a solo artist. The most complete group in Kpop history.
