Just a quick video of the fish,
I haven't had much time for koi things atm, as i'm busy working on my house.
Hope to get time for some updates and get round to installing the bio filter I made last year before it gets it's first anniversary 😄

Looks great Dave. Your water looks crystal clear. Mine is minging, a result of 500 grams of SH growth going in daily along with them constantly picking at the algae.
Clearly I've missed something somewhere, but where is the Shiro?

Hi mate, yeah the water is looking great now i've cut down feeding plus the recycle RO is keeping the nitrates so low I don't even get blanket weed...
The shiro died last year, sure I posted it up on koi forum.
egg bound, had the vet out and got anti biotics, but no good. 😞

@@DavesKoiPond Possibly I was tied up going through the same thing with the Kirin and lost track. What is interesting is your Shiro swam exactly how my Kirin did, pushing from the body rather than pulling with the fins. Maybe a sign they are over laden and a flag to watch out for?

@@RS20O0 Could well be mate, I think once an internal infection has set in the odds are low, and it's just a metter of time..
We just have to do your best for them though, Vets aren't cheap...😮

@@DavesKoiPond My Kirin was autopsied, expensive but I needed to know. No infection, no organ failure, just excessive fat that had blocked the spawning ducts. As a result they'll now be fasted for at least a month each winter to allow egg resorption to take place.

but holding at 16C all last winter I think they would be climbing the walls for food.
