as someone who never playled these...why is it broken?
The game is very much based on randomness and luck, which makes it inherently unbalanced. It's meant to be played more as an experience rather than a competition.
Betrayal is maybe my favorite broken game. Lot's of memorable haunts that made this game stand out. These new one seem pretty cool!
Can you use the items/ omens/ events/ tiles with base 3rd edition if your not doing the wolf haunts?
Game title made me think this was a spin-off of "Blood on the Clocktower"
Same’
I have the 1rst, the 2nd and the 3rd edition (this last, in spanish) of Betrayal at the house on the hill.
Wy do you say that the 3rd edition is broken?
Didn't know the game was broken... it's hard but was always fun even if the haunt usually wins
Nice review! Has helped my decision a lot. I really wanted this to be the reason I would want to buy the 3rd edition, but really doesn't seem worth it at all. Maybe something will come out later down the line that'd change that.
"Only playable with 3rd edition" **sigh** and so it begins. Kind of wish it was a big enough improvement to warrant buying 3rd edition on its own without putting that barrier on new content.
That sucks
Not really a hot take, but I think this expansion has too low of haunt quantity for being an expansion. I wasn't expecting another Widow's Walk but a good 10-15 haunts would've worked for me as far as what I paid for in this expansion. Would've given enough content to integrate, but not too many.
Ugh. Great review, but bad news
The Expansion of a Broken Game should be Broken.... 10 out of 10 for Consistency!
