I got the cd bootleg of this show back in 1995. I've listened to it so so many times I have every musical nuance memorized. Now to see the band, and see how much fun it looks like they (or at least Billy) is having really makes me happy. Bless you Dr. Copperpot. You are doing the Lord's work. Thank you.
100%. I dare anyone to find one better. He’s totally in a zone. I’ve had this bootleg CD since the late 90’s but never saw the video until now. Fantastic.
Off the top of my head I know of one show where James was on the left and D’arcy on the right - at the Boardwalk in Manchester, 1992. No idea the reasoning but I do know James played bass during soundcheck though that could have been a regular occurrence.
What a friggin’ gem! Why in the unholy world does someone have something like this over all these yrs and just now decide to share it w/the rest of us...?! Anyways, thx so much for doing so!
Thanks for stabilizing this video. Now it’s at least watchable. God, this is like a lifetime ago! Billy with a full head of hair. He looked normal here. What a great tour this was! It was over 23 years ago. Man, time is flying. The decades fly by! Fine but what really bugs me is I can’t tell the difference between years half the time. The years are all bundled up. 2001, 2002, 2003. What’s the difference there?. I can’t recall any individual year. It’s all a blur and a block of years. 94 I remember because Kurt Died. 2004 I don’t recall or 2014. See what I mean. They were all nondescripts years that flew by. 👏🏻🎸😎
Nah this is too good. Happy Saturday everyone. Here having my morning coffee, watching SP rock while reading the lyrics out of the CD booklets (I know the don't come with the cds but I had them printed separately). SP and particularly Billy Corgan fan for life.
Amazing gig and play set, to watch smashing pumpkins live on Valentine’s Day was sweet af I couldn’t believe it, 2014 was a great Valentine’s Day! ⭐️ This time was an amazing gig, your lucky a bugger if you were there! (got Astoria music cd from this gig I’m such a fandom geek)
Great job all around. Video looks great and it’s just 26 years old (wow). Sync on all sources looks & sounds EX. I saw SP in New Orleans three months before this show. The set list is almost the same. Probably closest thing I’ll ever get to reliving that show. Bravo 👏🏻
My Everlasting God... is D’Arcy just looking oh so hot at this show! Have always had such the biggest crush on that woman! Espcly at the 56:32 mark.... holy oh my everlasting God!
He really had it at the time. The confidence, and his hands could play whatever he wanted. Too bad D'arcy was your classic ego that never figured out they weren't really the talent. Noel Redding redux. And no, internet drones. Corgan isn't Hendrix. It was just a comparison of fairly vanilla talent not really understanding who they're playing for. Like when the CCR boys wanted THEIR songs and to SING on a CCR album. And that foray of the ego is documented as 'Mardi Gras'.
I'm assuming you taped this yourself, and that this was like vhsc, and you used handbreak to touch it up. More of a backstory on how you did this, what you used to tape it, or how you touched it up would be much appreciated.
It was recorded w/ a Hi8 camcorder + tripod (not by me / some UK guy). TravisBickle1963 (UA-cam: ua-cam.com/users/TravisBickle1963videos) recently acquired a batch of Hi8/MiniDV concert master tapes from the filmer of this. He captured it to lossless UT and sent me the 30gb AVI. I processed: Virtualdub(QTGMC > 25 field/sec to 50 frames/sec), Neat video 5.2 for video noise, created an audio matrix using the 2 sources and audio VSTs, synced the audio to the video by frame/song, rendered to high bit-rate MP4 (~11gb), uploaded to youtube. I don't use handbrake.
@@ColinBuckMusic you realize he is asking for information that could possibly help him figure out how to make some old footage look decent to people to watch? Its convenient and helpful. Nerds and smart people are the foundation and built the structure that allows cretins like yourself to enjoy such art. Billy himself is a nerd in music. He is pretty damn intelligent. Adios.
Finally getting to SEE the incendiary guitar solo in this performance of "Starla" after 25 years is really terrific.

That and Billy picking up for D'Arcy as well.
1:03:59 Possibly the best guitar solo Billy ever played live

I came her from reddit. Did you post this there?
Starla is just wonderful. Can't believe it's a b-side. Easily a top 10 SP song for me
@@danellae.perezschmieloz5958 Nope, but glad to see this recording getting more attention anyway!
@@User-jk8wq cool. And yeah the Starla solo is exceptional
Seeing this exact Starla performance in visual after all these years is almost surreal. Never expected I would see a video of this one. Just W O W .
I remember hearing this Starla solo decades ago and being blown away. Never thought I'd actually get the chance to see it! Thanks so much 🙏
I think James Iha and D'Arcy never switched places on stage... I wonder why....may be its part of the blissful magic of their harmony

My first gig. Down the front 15 years old
Jealous! Always thought seeing Beastie boys on the Ill communication tour was hard to beat as a first gig, but I would swap with you any day ;P
@@alexfrance500 Pretty equal in my world. Sadly, I Never got to see the Beasties live. The Ill Communication tour would be my era too 😎
I was there that night. Aged 19. I'm now 48. Shit on stick time flies
the drop d guitar has the flat black paint but not stars/red sharpie yet
Interesting they opted to not play Mayonaise.

The original band !
Wow Geek USA is great here
This Siva performance is only topped by the Metro 93 one
James Iha looks like a sculpture
