A lot of people have that legalistic mindset due to the type of churches they grew up in. The whole context of the sermon on the mount is jesus trying to point out to self righteous people that they need forgiveness and a savior. People read a lot of that passage as commands to be obeyed, not Jesus trying to bring people to the end of themselves and trusting in his righteousness.

@@mariadelosangelesgrant Thx I will check it out. My plan is and was to fly to Cancun and visit the pyramids of Yucatan but pretty sure I wont be allowed to take my rental car into Guatemala, so my idea up to now was to go to the border and look for guides/tours from Mexico into Guatemala and back.
You could also fly from Yucatán to Peten. Guides can definitely help you, just do some research on the prices before you go. Sometimes they charge more once you get there

Works means giving further the love and kindness and forgiveness he gave us. Satan received but didn't gave back. Faith without works is death. Everyone loves to receive but not everyone is like our Lord and sacrifices themselves to give. We need to give further, he gives us in excess on purpose as we can see when he feed the people.. He who does not produce good fruits will be cast into the flames. That's why he destroyed the tree that had no fruits despite getting plenty of water and sunshine. No works is to not be like the lord. It is wicked and selfish. Not everyone is a full tree yet tho, and there will be seasons. He forgives but we must try out of love for him and to our neighbor.
