Akhtar Shaikh Bharath was always one in spirit; not by political boundaries. Just the ideal way to be (not practical these days because no one else plays by that rule). You may ask how was it bound as one in spirit. Answer is, in its spirituality. While every other nation was bound by a common language, rave, religion or even culture, Bharath was an amalgamation of different cultures. The land between Himalayas and Indu Sagara was occupied by beings who didn’t share a common set of beliefs; you could worship one God, multiple Gods, a tree, a cow, a rock or nothing. And there was no need to convert one to your own kind. In one family, there could be worshippers of different beings. Of course, the Kings fought each other time n again, for land and rule (as per the Khastriya dharma). But you wouldn’t find instances of forced conversion or mass executions as the freedom to follow one’s own path was ingrained.
