So cute! Totally with you about big dogs! Our 9 month rottie puppy slept with us for the first couple of nights - she actually slept on my husband's chest (on the floor). As we have a senior dog too, they were rather noisy, so we moved her into her play pen (a bit bigger than a standard crate - we had a couple of nights where we slept close, and then she was fine. So great to see how their personalities develop - our two couldn't be more different. Twelve year old Vega hates water, she tip toes over boggy ground, Zeta would join us in the shower if we let her, and jumps into ponds.

I smiled all the way through this video! We played music very softly for our latest dog when he was a puppy, we chose music with a regular beat like a heartbeat. I had two female dogs first that didn't need anything to sleep, however our third dog is male and more energetic so we found that approach worked for him. Basil is gorgeous! I also loved the music in this video ❤

Hi Lauren 😘how fabulous so so happy for you and Jack what a beautiful puppy 🐶 I know you will absolutely love every minute! I’m not here to give you advice but merely say have a look at doing the Kennel club awards I think you might love it and Basil will for sure it’s a great experience and obedience training especially if a class you join trains outside not in a hall. 💕

Basil is adorable!! ♥️ the way he is taking a rest on your feet in the kitchen. So sweet he is already so comfortable with you! Love how diligent you guys are starting day one with training him, such as your technique of being calm when you come down at night time. Ps: I wish I bought a backup of the stuffy my cat was obsessed with from day one. I’ve searched everywhere but couldn’t find it anymore. We ended up making a similar one ourselves by hand 😂 So if they still have it perhaps buy a backup Gerald 🦒 or ducky 🦆 in case they get bitten up 😂 or lost.

So good that you’re crate training-I know many people are against it but it really does create a safe space for them! My dog now takes himself to his crate when his had enough 😅
Axel (our dog) cried for 3 days straight-then we popped his crate closer to our room so he could see us and that seemed to settle him :) you will also find so many opinions in the dog world and everyone seems to be a dog trainer these days so in all honesty take it with a pinch of salt and do what’s rights for Basil ❤

Ahhh he has currently taken himself in there for a nap as I am writing this, he loves it. I don't blame him it looks so cosy haha. Aww Axel, it must be so overwhelming for puppies when they leave their mum and siblings to then being on their own. But they soon get used to it! 🥹

Awh he is adorable, you should put on your UA-cam videos for him at night to see if your voice soothes him he might think your in the room 😅 we went through hell with our puppy now 4 years later he is still in our room 😂😂
