  • Here's a first look at the recently released photo book by Alex Webb entitled Dislocations.
It's a beautiful book by one of my favorite photographers! Webb's color work is second to none and this book delivers. It has some old favorites, but more importantly, there are so many fantastic photos I'd never seen before!
Aperture provided me with a copy for review. Such a great book! Highly recommend!

Great review. One thing I noticed looking through this book and The Suffering of Light is how rare portrait orientation is in his work. Granted for folks working 2:3 it _is_ just less common, but I only recall a single image in The Suffering of Light in portrait, and it's in the post script. Great picks; I think if you ask 10 different people who like Webb you will likely get 10 different favorite images.

Just took a bunch of photos of the surfers in Munich as well, that framing is so much cooler than mine lol

Would you recommend this book or Suffering of Light as an introduction to Alex Webb?

Webb Is one of the very very few who genuinely make photography into a art form … mostly it’s a craft …not so for Webb..
