not all daytonas sold were hemis, and from the look of it its supposed to be a regular charger with daytona repops, that barrier wouldnt have done anything to the original cast aluminum wing for example, and i believe that scene where he gets the car is set in the 80s or 90s and they werent seen as that valueable at the time

Chris Farley's two brothers had small parts in this movie, (Kevin Farley played a cop, and John Farley played a security guard) which I didn't know until today. I also learned today that the oil company in the movie that Joe works for is called Scotch Oil. That is also the name of the oil company that Chris Farley’s dad owned in Madison WI (and where Chris worked before he became a comedian) - a small tribute by Spade to his late friend.

I freaking love this movie. The guy in Louisiana you were asking about is Blake Clark who also played essentially the same character (Farmer Fran) in The Waterboy. The reason why it's hard to understand him is because he's using a THICK stereotypical Louisiana-Cajun accent. Granted... I lived most of my life in Houston and have known several Katrina refugees. Sometimes the joke hits right at home, lol.
I can say it with a laugh because sometimes I'm not too far off from Boomhaur from King of the Hill.

Joe is pretty much me. My parents were not supportive of me and I lived life knowing I was a disappointment to them. Growing up, I would look in the mirror and smile, saying "As long as I still have this smile, I'll know they haven't taken that from me." I didn't have the best social skills, but I was always willing to help out any way I could. I'd help people move, I'd dog sit, house sit, give some money when I could. And anywhere I was, I would talk to people who were by themselves. Through this, I've gotten quite a family of people who are very protective of me and I am protective of them. We're the misfits, underdogs, outcasts, and misunderstood loners. But we have each other's backs. And I have a woman and we keep each other afloat emotionally.

I love the cameo of the assistant coach from The Water Boy! He he is the same character in both movies. The red neck who speaks unintelligibly. I believe you reacted to it, didn't you? This movie throws so much at the audience, it's impossible to catch it all on the first watch.

The guy selling fireworks, Adam Beach, was in another great movie called Smoke Signals.

sadly it truly is a great movie that no one knows even exists.
a little funny side note david spade on the audio commentary of joe dirt said that after watching smoke signals he told the casting agent he wanted the guy from smoke signals to be in joe dirt. but he said that he meant he wanted the short glasses wearing guy and the casting agent got mixed up and sent adam beach to the audition instead. spade said beach was so good in the audition that they decided to just go with him.
