Funny thing about the “busted up” car he drives (Dodge Charger Daytona) is that it was ALSO a Hemi and was far more valuable than the other one he has.
not all daytonas sold were hemis, and from the look of it its supposed to be a regular charger with daytona repops, that barrier wouldnt have done anything to the original cast aluminum wing for example, and i believe that scene where he gets the car is set in the 80s or 90s and they werent seen as that valueable at the time
Not only that. When Charlene at the end said "You think your slant six could beat his hemi?". Both of his cars before were available with a slant six but the firebird wasn't.
Chris Farley's two brothers had small parts in this movie, (Kevin Farley played a cop, and John Farley played a security guard) which I didn't know until today. I also learned today that the oil company in the movie that Joe works for is called Scotch Oil. That is also the name of the oil company that Chris Farley’s dad owned in Madison WI (and where Chris worked before he became a comedian) - a small tribute by Spade to his late friend.
“Life’s a garden, dig it” and “You gotta keep on keeping on” are words to live by. David Spade definitely still has enough Joe Dirt in him to manifest Joe Exotic

This was a sleeper hit, and re-watching keeps bringing the heart and joy ("Grandma's Boy", equally so!). David Spade plays it low key and it is a complete and happy ride.
I freaking love this movie. The guy in Louisiana you were asking about is Blake Clark who also played essentially the same character (Farmer Fran) in The Waterboy. The reason why it's hard to understand him is because he's using a THICK stereotypical Louisiana-Cajun accent. Granted... I lived most of my life in Houston and have known several Katrina refugees. Sometimes the joke hits right at home, lol. I can say it with a laugh because sometimes I'm not too far off from Boomhaur from King of the Hill.
