  • If you watched Part 1 last week you'll know that we got to the park much later than we had planned and let’s just say, traveling those roads at night is NOT recommended!!
    Well it's a BRAND new day today and we wanted to see what the "White Rim Trail" had to offer and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint!
    I think this trail was scarier than ANY of the trails that we had coming up in Colorado but I'd love to hear what you thought about these roads.
    What you will see in this video series is not even 50% of what we actually experienced. We could have easily spent a full week in Canyonlands had we had the time and supplies.
    Canyonlands has dispersed camping, but you must obtain an overnight backcountry permit and reserve one of the 12-15 spots throughout the 330k plus acres of park.
    We only seen one other vehicle during the 2 days and over 100 miles in the park. It was amazing!!!

    We turned around right before Murphy hogback. We had that top campsite booked too. Some people in the party were not enjoying the heat.
    We did drive down to the river on that one fork. To the left. It was fun and we saw those ram sheep

    I rode the White Rim in May of 2023 and the road wasn't nearly as beat up as it was on your trip through there. Some of those rain ruts you were driving through were crazy! Great video and it really makes me want to go back there again.

      Yea, they had major flooding exactly one week before our visit. We had been checking updates and alerts every single day and they had liiterally just lifted the warnings in the park a day or two before our visit. Thrilled we were able to take you back virtually and you could experience it again. Thanks for watching!

    That climb at the halfway point is insane. That rock 3/4 of the way up is fairly new based on other videos. Hopefully my Ramcharger fits without falling off the side. 🤣

    I woke up in a bad mood. Someone stole my rucrak and highlift yesterday . Lock pin was unlocked ( I’m guessing all keys matchup or something) but sucks none the less. I’m out $1,000 . Police did nothing. I’ll miss my rucrak cause no way in hell am I paying that much for someone to just take it. I feel violated. Thanks for the video to put me in a better mood. Love ya both.👍🏻

      @DownSouth_Adventures  2 роки тому +1

      Dude! That sucks so horribly! That’s the only reason we like the lug nut version. At least it is somewhat harder to steal. I hate humans!

    • @TheDon8771
      @TheDon8771 2 роки тому +1

      @@DownSouth_Adventures me too. It’s my fault tho. I should have only had it on when I needed it. But come on, it’s a rucrak gotta show it off. Hahahaha. I feel much better know. Still sucks but, it’s not life threatening. One day I’ll see it. It has two marks on it from wheeling. I’ll know it when I see it. Not common anyway.

    The camera did not do that hill climb justice. The trail is not challenging... its the narrow ledge with the steep drop off is what makes it nerve racking. Good job keeping it together enough to make it to the top.

    Cool. From Island in the Sky, how long does it take to get to the White Crack Campground? I only went out to Muscleman Arch. Would like to camp and head back out- not doing 99 miles. Is there a campground you recommend- maybe 2+ hours in.

    • @DownSouth_Adventures
      @DownSouth_Adventures  9 місяців тому +1

      Hey I actually have no idea, we try to skip campgrounds if at all possible. Canyonlands is the only camp spot that we actually rented for this entire 14 day trip except for a hip camp spot in Colorado.

      @@DownSouth_Adventures Cool. Looks like you both had a great trip. The lady did a great job of driving- not sure if this is the guy or the gal! We have been all over Moab but we want to camp on White Rim White Crack area is supposed to be the best one. I just don't want to venture in too far. 3 hours is far enough.
      Did you see Chicken Corners, Shafer or Hells Revenge or Long Canyon? If not, go back and do these. Mesa Arch for sunrise too.

    • @DownSouth_Adventures
      @DownSouth_Adventures  8 місяців тому +1

      We did Hells revenge, fins n things, and a few others check out the "Headed West" playlist and you'll see the whole trip. We definitely can't get back there soon enough!@@MOAB-UT thanks for watching!
