I enjoyed this one, we can't always expect every guest to come on and be confident or have outrageous stories, the fact these guys give us time to interview them and have an insight in their career. I love hearing various stories and different ways player or managers operated.

There's a few inaccuracies. Bonuses were being paid at Palace, so that's untrue. Cahill wanted to go to Everton as a bigger club and turned Palace down, Carrick refused to even speak with Palace.

Me and mates hung around the Northern Ireland training as kids (we were the only 4 people there), every player and the manager signed autographs and chatted football in he Chimney Corner hotel. Except Dowie, he was my hero as N.I striker, when asked he just said no and turned his back. We were crestfallen, Bryan Hamilton said don't worry about him, he's a bit of a prat. Immediately us kids were laughing and smiling again. Dowie a real class act. NOT!

It was a shame Dowie did not want to get into anything like not naming people and not getting into the Simon Jordan thing which would have been great to hear his point of view. This interview was really really interesting with how he dealt with things and it makes you wonder why he isn't in the game at present and hasn't had a leading football role for ten years. After Charlton and that brief Hull stint it was all over for him. He really brushed over what happened with Crystal Palace at the end. It will be worth anyone's time to go through the court hearing and submissions made from Palace that were accepted as truthful.
Simon Jordan said at the time following the high court hearing judgement "I took a man (Dowie) to the high court for fraudulent misrepresentation, and he's been found guilty... And I think that having the courage of your convictions to take it to the high court and bring an action - a very difficult action to prove, fraudulent misrepresentation - and be successful, is a good thing".
There is no doubt he was fantastic at Oldham and Palace and what he achieved was incredible. It's such a shame he left there on such a sour note.
