fiuuuu I was getting worried lol
Don't joke about these things lest they come true!
plse include upi payment
I was worried for a second lol. But I knew you would grind even harder anyways.
Hahahah would be hilarious to end the video though
1:03 i like the pause there
I was not able to land an internship last summer. So, with nothing else to do, I grinded leetcode every day throughout this summer and your video is EXTREMELY helpful to me when I was struggling with all of the tricky leetcode problems. Now, I already got internship offers from Amazon and Goldman Sachs for Summer 2023. Sincerely appreciate your work! Thank you!
Congrats homie :D
So happy for you
Congrats dude. Definitely go with Amazon!
how did you applied there

I graduated in 2021 as Aerospace Engineer, pandemic hit this industry really hard, you can't be a remote Aerospace engineer that's besides the lots of airports stopped hiring. I decided to move on and switch careers to coding. This channel has helped me tremendously, I had no idea about DS and Algo just a few month ago and guess what?! I have a microsoft software engineer 2nd interview next week. I can't stress this enough but preparing for interviews with neetcode was a worry-free. 💙
You have my sympathies. I graduated in 2009, when many companies were still laying people off. It took two years, but I finally caught a break. I'm certain you will catch one too.
In the meantime, you can take your time to both decompress and to learn new skills.
Aerospace engineer here, try getting into space rather than general aviation. The space race 2.0 is very much real and there are tons of opportunities.
All the best for your interview 😊
lovvve it
What about vtol companies?
Holy cow! A friend and I who are both recently graduated were talking about this and stressing out, 5 minutes before you uploaded this. We really needed to hear this, thank you!!
Yeah same. Google is listening to us and immediately notify us.
What do u think is the reason behind such a sudden dip in the market?
Recently I’d been interviewed at google, after 2.5 months of preparation and interviews, I’ve been told position is frozen. I was crushed, I cracked every single interview and but in the end it didn’t work out. It was hard to come back to daily routine knowing that you had it for a day then you lost everything.
I’ve learned lot from your videos, and I always find them very relatable. Even hiring freeze.
I’ll try again and hope this time I’ll make it.
Thank you for everything.
Hello , when did you interview at Google ??
That's like spitting on your face but not physically that's embarassing. The market is in very bad place
Hello , when did you interviewed at Google?
Keep your head up dude, I'm sorry to hear that but you sound like a dedicated engineer. Best of luck.
I had the same experience, interviewed for early careers SWE (1.5 full time experience) in mid July, found out I passed my interviews but never made it to Hiring Committee because hiring freezes were announced earlier that week. Definitely was a roller coaster of emotions, but now I can appreciate the slight blessing it is as I can ride out the big tech layoff storm in a different industry and still appreciate the moral boost that successfully interviewing at Google was.
“Life has felt like a complete dream.”
You earned that dream, Neetcode.
you seem like a great person all around. must feel amazing knowing how many people you've helped. thank you man
Thanks NeetCode for not only being a great teacher but also being a friend to us during a difficult time like this.
Thank you so much Neetcode! I landed an internship at Amazon at such a hard time thanks to your amazing lists and videos. We got this guys!
I graduated in 2020 and have been unemployed since then. I put my head down, got focused, practiced Leetcode while watching your videos and made big personal projects, and landed an offer at Amazon as a SWE, I start next month! Thank you for all the help, your videos on Leetcode problems and your experience are amazing!
Now everyday I check blind for updates on the hiring freeze. I’m acutely monitoring the recession and praying they don’t rescind my offer 😂
can you share your personal big project?
can you please share some of your personal project ideas?
I started my career in 2009, in the middle of recession. You can always become a freelancer, as a software developer, you will always find jobs.
Congrats!!🎉
please give some ideas
Dude you’re an inspiration. I’m thankful that people like you exist in this world ❤
Well the pause after "laid" was epic!! "Are google engineers going to be laid off". You truly know what engineers go through 😂
Hey man, thank you for making this video, I really needed to hear this positive message. I was laid off 2.5 months ago and have been applying to jobs, getting interviews, and getting rejected, ghosted, etc. It really sucks and I have definitely not been feeling great about myself, thinking that I am too stupid to be hired or useful to any company. But in the meantime I have been coding every day on side projects, and answering questions on Stack Overflow, because these are things that I like doing and want to do with my life, whether or not I get paid. I am hoping that as I continue to challenge myself and learn tools, libraries, frameworks, and skills that these pay off when I eventually do get a job. Because I do know that I am worth hiring, even if this is just a bump in the road. So again, thank you, and I really appreciate this.
would love to hear from you soon that you landed a new job. always trust yourself no matter what!
NeetCode, I've been following your channel for a while and this is probably the best coding explanation channel I've come across on youtube. This video also motivated and inspired me to keep going. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the dev community and I hope you keep creating contents and being you!
Hey Neetcode, just wanted to say thank you, your videos helped me land a tech job at a big bank. Definitely good advice here. Good luck in the future with google!
You are literally my favorite channel on UA-cam right now !! 😊 Thank you
Hey man, about year ago your videos were mostly what helped me land many full time SWE offers that I never thought I'd get and participated in many many final rounds. So big thanks for all the work you put into these!
I follow you before you get hired, and I remember the feeling of happiness of that moment when you announce it, you help so much people and that's the best quality as human being! You deserve all
We're all gonna make it brah. Stay strong 💪 I quit my first dev job last week in Korea but will keep applying until I get my dream job in London
Thank you so much for your encouragement! I felt so depressed when I heard about the hiring freezes. Really appreciate for your story, it brought me hope!
man you don't know how much I needed to hear this. I graduated in 2021, have been more than a year looking for a job, I identify so much with your story. I'll keep focusing on that long-term goal
It's been roughly four months since I started my job hunting for software engineer. Almost every single company rejected me or "moved on for a better candidate". Amazon offered me the interview for SWE II and downgraded me to SWE I (because they got a hire...?) and I managed to finish all the SWE loop interviews (one online interview, one phone interview, five interviews) but was rejected two days later. I am still jobless.
But NeetCode, I don't know how you did it man. I don't know how you kept going through all these struggles. I respect you and I am going to keep going as well. Thank you for your encouragement and all the videos. One day, I will donate or support you. And one day, you will be there with me too!! Best of luck to all these fighting and those who are trying!
You helped me land Amazon and Google. Cannot thank you enough, good sir. 🙏🏽
Can I get your linkedin, please
Thanks to Neetcode I was able to apply to Google and get a job... in the same office as him. Every day I roam the halls wondering if the person I just passed is the masked hero.
We really needed to hear this. It gave so much of confidence and made me trust in the "Process" again. Thanks a lot!
Hi Neetcode, got an interview for intern coming up next week. Probably the last one I’m getting and the only chance to succeed for this recruiting season. Not only is recruiting season stressful, a lot went on in life for me in general too, adding to a school workloads. Have been watching your for the past 2-3 months. Not only are your videos inspiring, so is your experience and mindset. Best luck to me, and my best wishes for you and all those out there looking for opportunities. Hang tight, we will get there.
I received the offer from Meta because of this channel, but my full-time offer has been recently rescinded. Thank you for this video and for the inspiration that keep me moving forward!
thank you for the well-explained content! As a senior software engineer in one of the big tech companies, I also found your videos super helpful! ❤
Got an offer from Google and Amazon a few months back. Your videos were a big part of my preparation materials. Thanks!
Thank you so much and congratulations 🎉🎉 best of luck whichever you choose 🙂
I’m in the phase where you were thinking about giving up. This is what I needed to hear to keep going. Thank you 🙏
im also wanting to give up. would you recommend start working for a low tier company?
Thanks for the positive outlook, just found this channel this is a very realistic look at the soft skills and tech skills needed to be a modern programmer.
1:02 😂
But thank you for the video. Recently didn't get accepted into Amazon after the final interview. Really crushed me after spending days, hours, studying non-stop. This video was something I needed. Thankfully I do have a job that uses my degree, but not really something I enjoy doing.
Got me for a second🤣
Same i am not into tech industry but i can relate to the last line maybe it is my first job and i have recently joined.
😂😂😂
This is great advice! Thanks a lot for sharing your experience!
It really worked for me after I look and try some tutorials, yours is the one that worked. Owe you a lot.
You have no idea how badly I needed this. Thank you.
Companies were hiring left and right, all these bootcamps who produced a bunch of entry level engineers. Tech Market just became overheated. Casper (Mattress company), Peloton, etc decided that they can jump on hyped “tech unicorn” ship. It’s no surprise to me that a lot of companies are going out of business
Bootcamps are a scam that keep trying to oversaturate the industry.
@@atift5465 i won’t say it’s scam but it’s sort of short path to tech world for people who don’t have CS degree. Problem is that they only scratching surface and have lack of core knowledge
@@sviatoslavnovosiadlyi611 Very true
Perfectly said. Too many people without passion just going after the high salary.
@@SuperGojeto Tbf there is a lot of tech applications still to be made without needing the most difficult math to realize it. We just need engineers actually capable doing it or knowing how to write basic code. Ofcourse, depending on the application, you'll need CS at some point.
Hey NeetCode,
I landed Amazon SDE II (L5) using your site last month, and my first day is Nov! Thank you so much for all of your hard work, and I am a believer & evangelist of your site!
I was so depressed man, but after hearing you I feel highly motivated, thanx man
Thanks Neet~~ You indeed help me improve my coding ability when solving the leetcode problem.
Thank you for the inspiration, gonna back here again when I'm accepted into an internship or Junior Backend Developer. I'm excited!
You inspired me to started my own channel two years ago. You are awesome, thank you!
Just passed my Amazon interview… you’re a legend man, your videos help so much.
Been getting denied left and right. Can't find a job to save my life. It's a huge hit to my moral. But you are absolutely right. I needed to hear this. I'm going to keep moving forward toward the future. You are an inspiration to a lot of people Neetcode! I am grateful to have found you channel.
I am very inspired.
Many colleagues got impacted several months ago because of the company reorg. I am one of them. Hence, I started preparing for the interview for the next opportunity. That's why I came across your channel and started to follow it.
Learning from your videos, I feel more confident that I'm in a better position for upcoming challenges.
I'm so grateful for all you've done.
If I ever dream of having a big brother, NeetCode would be one of them. this video was really humble, motivating and clear. you are awesome NeetCode. ❤
Thank you! I needed to hear this in the situation I am in currently
Neetcode thank you for existing on youtube, your content is amazing!
Much appreciate you making this video ❤
Thanks for the video. I really needed to hear this:) your content has helped me a lot navigating through some hard concepts and problems. Keep publishing :)
Great message, Neetcode. Love you homie.
Thanks Neetcode. I got 2 offers because of you. I cracked Amazon and Google. Your thought process helped me on how to tackle the unknown problem. I really appreciate your efforts.
bro I kid you not, I googled “Tech layoffs 2022” about 15 minutes before your video. I also want to thank you, because of you I was able to pass the technical round for my dream job. They even mentioned that they liked how I drew my explanations, where could I get that from ??? NC da 🐐
I now need a neetcode motivation channel ... currently opened youtube to do a meditation session and this pops off ... I wasnt unmotivated but this really boosted me
Hi neetcode, thanks for making this video. Right now I am waiting to booking my first psychological session because of the frustration of grinding all the LC questions on the list only to find that all of my resume were rejected. Thanks for the video, it gives me more hope into my career and feel less ashamed for my unemployment status for the past 5 months.
Thanks for making these videos! It really is inspiring!
Hi neetcode, just wanted to say thank you for your videos. They really helped me with my interview preps and I was able to get a new grad full time(!!!) job at a faang company this year while all this craziness was happening. So thank you and I truly appreciate what you do!
You are more than a teacher, you are an inspiration 💯
I wanted to thank you! I just landed a summer internship at Amazon thanks to Neetcode 150!
thanks for the motivation, I was grinding before 10 months ago but after failed at three faang companies onsite I gave up grinding and then now recent interview with another faang onsite also failed. Your vid really give motivation, Im ready to start the grind again.
Hey, thanks for the amazing video! Needed to hear that.
I love this so much. I was choking up near the end. I graduated 3 months ago with my Computer Science Game Design degree and i've never felt more like a dumb loser. I have no job, I live with my mom, Ive bombed 2 interviews, and I feel like my skills are not up to par to what companies need. Ive only recently heard about this hiring freeze and now I have this anxiety looming over me telling me that I will never get a SWE job and I should just get some easy job like become an amazon driver or retail worker. This video however has given me so much hope. You said the exact words i've been wanting to hear from another fellow SWE. It's lonely out here for a new grad, first generation, with culture that is drastically different from the United States but you've made me feel so supported in this crowded emptiness. I'll be using this inspiration you have given us all to keep on going and keep building my skills. Thank you for everything you do
Apply everywhere you can not just Faang companies. I found my first developer job back in march. It’s not a sexy company but it’s a f500 and I get to code everyday. Just getting some experience then I’m going to move to a tech company. Hopefully sooner than later. I have no degree, but im on getting it online through wgu. Good luck!
Check out system/network engineering too, I’m a recent CS grad and so far I’ve been getting the most interviews in this field. Remember to cast your net far and wide
Do NOT take a non-developer job! This is critical! There is still huge, HUUUGE demand for engineers. Companies have just had to put a freeze on hiring because their stock prices have all plummeted over the past year, but I can tell you with certainty that many, many companies still actually NEED more engineers. Stay the course my friend, the future is very bright for software engineers.
Beyond that, the best advice is exactly what the other person said. Do not limit yourself to tech companies or game producers. There is huge demand for software engineers in many different industries. Expand your scope a bit, but I strongly recommend joining a medium sized company or larger. When starting out, you need to be on a team where you can learn from the experienced engineers around you. No degree truly prepares you, and bootcamps definitely don't either. So don't make the mistake of taking on a role at a small company where they want you to be their sole IT savior. There's no long-term growth there, and it can entrench you in practices that may hurt your ability to move to a bigger company later.
@@rdean150 Working at a startup is stressful af too, I've done it couldn't sleep.
Nope.........
1) Do project based learning and complete a few projects in areas of YOUR interest that you can show off!
2) Build up your resume and study good tech resumes, make it shine so recruiters come calling.
3) Build industry connections on LinkedIn and other areas to cast your net too, make sure your resume is uploaded to Indeed/ZipRecruiter/LinkedIn.
4) Practice interview prep and hardcore data structures and algorithms type questions to prepare yourself.
Great video, thank you so much for this great advice!
This channel really help me a lot. Thank you very much!
IT'S ALWAYS THE UNDERRATED VID THAT'S LEGIT! THANK YOU!
Thank you for this Mr.NeetCode
Thanks for this Video! loved and inspired by your story.
Your story, especially the part when you said you started applying for warehouse worker and you did not even get that job actually made me tear up. Hard times are coming but it is the strong and the persistent that shall thrive.
❤️❤️❤️🙏 Thanks a lot for giving your time to make this video. ❤️
Thanks, needed to hear this. :)
Loved this video. Thank you so much!
Your videos helped me to get my job at Microsoft. I can't thank you enough for this. I have been recommending you for each and every person i meet or talk to. Thank you for being you @NeetCode
Very good motivation that was needed for me right now
Last year I quit my job and decided to do my PhD in AI full-time. During the spring semester, I got burned out even worse and decided to take the next semester off with the support from my advisor. Before coming back for this new semester, I found out that my school was splitting up and closing, and that they're now rushing us to graduate. Due to my mental state, I was hoping to take the next couple of semesters to just relax with research only, but now that's no longer the case. I also decided to try to start interviewing again, and had began interviewing with Google. But with the state of the tech industry and the looming recession, I was/am aware that I probably won't be getting hired anytime soon.
Rather than being hopeless (even though I feel hopeless), I am still working everyday to build up my knowledge, work on new algorithms, and learn new tools. After I left the military in 2011, I was in a similar position without having the background and education I have now. Things will get better, we just need to be always ready for the opportunities that will eventually come. Put the blinders on and keep going, you'll make it.
Thanks for your awesome videos which helped me secure a job with AWS :)
Congratulations 🎉🙂
You're awesome, man, I got into Google thanks to your videos :)
Thank you. this is comforting.
thank you for this Mr.Neet just the video i needed
dont stop doing lc questions and this channel keep uploading good questions. thnks for your contribution
thanks for your encouraging words it really gives me hope, i have recently graduated and i have an offer in service based company but they are delaying onboarding from last 5 months and Sometimes i feel very tense and think i am dum and these uncertainties really bother me but i am working i am solving problem everyday on litecode and your videos are really helpful . I am also learning web development. Hopefully my efforts will not go into vain
From the bottom of my heart, I needed to hear this.
your channel is the best coding interview preparation resource beating even paid courses. You are an inspiration.
Thanks! This might be most effective & efficient video !!!
Thanku for this, because of hiring freeze in amazon my candidature was also affected. Although i do have an offer from Optum but not being able to get what I think I deserve was going very badly from past few days.
Batch of 2023 we are definitely going to succeed may be late but eventually we will.✌🏻
wow, I love your video. I am from china and am just in a big anxiety of unemployment. I am glad that I met this. it inspired me. thanks
Thank you so much for talking about this subject, it is really concerning to me ... but yest keep on following your dreams
just wanted to say thankyou neetcode! Because of you I got a summer 2023 internship
I have been unemployed for about 6 months. Tomorrow I have an interview for a Software Engineer position. My anxiety is high. I've been studying for the past few hours and I saw this video get recommended to me. At that point I started procrastinating because, I felt like I wasn't gonna get the role (The role is an Intermediate position, while I'm more of a juniorish-intermediate developer). Ngl once I heard the inspirational stuff it started to give me hope again. Now I'm back to studying and I think I might be able to pull my shit together. Wish me luck
Hey how did it go ?
@@justanaverageguy4739 after that comment, I studied for a few hours, went to bed and studied more comp sci theory stuff in the morning. I ran out of time and didn't have enough time to study for coding problems. At that point I kinda lost hope and felt like I wasn't going to get the job. Went to the interview, got asked technical questions, did code analysis and finally a technical (abstract) exercise of how I would build and develop a website for a client.
Somehow, I did really good and they were impressed with me. They even introduced me to other people in the office. So I'm not sure if I got the job yet but, it's looking good so far!
@@RoccoTeh Ho nice. All the best. I hope you will crack ☺️
You need to look for smaller businesses for sure, my company didn’t find someone for a bit

So you're telling me that we solve this recession using Floyd's tortoise and hare algorithm?
It's a leetcode video even when its not a leetcode video. Nice one!
Thanks, I needed to hear that.
Thankyou for the push!
Something that I need to hear. Thanks alot
I like that word of wisdom; you are earned a subscriber here.
We all needed to hear this 🙏
Graduated mid pandemic, was failing interviews left and right. Then I watched this channel religiously! Cruised through the blind 75 alongside Neetcode. First attempted a problem on my own, if I couldn't solve it went straight to his video. Landed a SWE offer at Apple in less than 6 months! What Neetcode said in this video is law! Slow and steady fellas!
You have inspired me a lot with your videos. Thank you ❤😊
Great video, awesome advice
Before my interview was canceled my recruiter from google advised me to watch your channel and i would do really well
thank you i needed this ❤
