Thank you so much for your programs! My mother, who is 80 something, enjoys watching your adventures. Well, I enjoy them too. Just wish I had more time, as we farm. Don't forget Maryland to visit. Rocks State Park and Harford County offers much! Keep the programs coming! Thanks!
Thank you for taking folks to see this great old bridge.
Thank you.
That is truly a beautiful bridge. Think nicest one so far. It’s hard to believe a truck drivers are silly enough to try to take truck over. Loved that thanks Cliff. Please stay safe and take care
Cliff,
The natural color has it's own beauty, but I think the
fact that it is still used a lot, is great.
I know that the builders would be amazed to see what kind of vehicles cross, or try to
cross it ,now:)
The double truss adds another layer of interest!.
Thanks so much,
Rik
Love this bridge. and bonus views of the restored Mill house. wow good job. Thanks for sharing.
The double arches are pretty cool! I know Naomi enjoyed going thru😊
Great video I love covered bridges
It really a nice looking bridge just needs some upgrades.
Thank you for sharing.
Another great video! I like that you include Naomi.
Nice! That bridge is a mile from my house. I cross that bridge all the time.
The Philippi Covered Bridge in West Virginia is busy, too. It carries US Route 250. It is something you would call a Double Span Covered Bridge. There is two one lane spans put together and possibly a sidewalk.
Greetings from Knoxville always love your video's 💟
There is one close to Knobels Amusement Park near back 9 of 3 ponds golf Course. If you're in area would love to get together.
Very busy for a covered bridge.
Real nice info, be nice to get a drone view. Thanks
That was awesome Cliff, thank you. As a retired 18 wheeler I'm sure there were plenty of DOT warnings not only that the bridge is there, DOT would have plenty of NO TRUCKS over..................... in height and weight. At 6:38 we see a burgundy pickup truck turning where the road goes straight. I'm guessing the tractor trailer should not have made that turn the pickup made and followed the road the other way. I should post here that he/she needs to learn how to watch for signs and or learn to read but I won't.
As I remember it was some guy from NJ or at least worked out of there who tried to pull a trailer through there the first time. I think he may have made it across and they ended up tracking him down at a later date. I'm thinking it has been at least 3 trucks try to cross that and damage it. Around the same time a guy pulled a flatbed over another covered bridge in the county which had that one closed for years.
@@misterm5325 Thanks for the reply.
The Hwy department should install posts on each side of the road, several hundred feet from the bridge, with a steel beam between them, at the clearance height.
So true, when all the sign warnings that I am positive were there a mile from that bridge, then repeated closer fail It's time to take the roof of the cab and trailer off. Retired 18 wheeler here and never had that happen, but some drivers just refuse to read DOT warning signs so they get what they ask for. Just my two cents.
Who among us has not tried to drive a tractor trailer across a covered bridge?
haha, unbelievable
Crazy Busy 🙏💕😎
People seem to really fly across the bridge. I am surprised there is not a speed restriction.
They do. They cross it like it is a modern bridge. It is a little outside of philly so you know how it is. Everyone is self-centered and in a rush to get nowhere. I was up there one time and a tall truck went through and smacked the crap out of those warning bars and kept going like he did it all the time.
have you been to the one in little gap near the ski lodge on blue mountain and the one at beltzville state park
nope
🖖
Thanks for sharing this beautiful bridge.Too bad there is so much noise driving in and out of the bridge.Would be nice to have a coat of red on it🌟
Where at in Chester County?
Between Phoenixville and Kimberton. The road turns off route 113 and goes north to meet up with route 23.
Its actually called Rapps Dam Rd.
Aproach signage stating no truck traffic would help immensely. Pickups could & would still drive thru but the heavier truck traffic would detour. I guess this is a suggestion for PennDot.
When the truck driver doesn’t speak or even able to read English all the signage in the world won’t help! The tractor trailer instead of stopping at the first collision put the hammer down and just kept going through! Had his license for less than a few weeks too! My dad worked for the township at the time and he gave the driver a verbal lashing he understood despite the language barrier lol
