AlphaDestiny I’m trying to make sure I’ve got this right. My right hand trap is the smaller one, lat is also bigger on the right side, right pec is smAller, right deltoid is bigger, and I can feel that I stand with more pressure on my right foot. Which means my hips are tilting to the left right? Therefore I need to strengthen my left side obliques/glute, and the jefferson squats should be with the right foot forward/left foot back (the weaker side back) right? Just trying to make sure I’m doing this right. Thanks.
I'm a beginner lifter, 2 months into working out and have just started to notice the imbalance. I actually saw a physio and it turns out, my right leg is slightly longer then my left. This has caused my hips to be weaker on the right. I will implement the Jefferson deadlifts into my routine for a couple months and monitor my progress. I prefer to do side Plank reps instead of side bends as my body doesn't like them. I'll come back here in a few months or weeks and let you guys know it works for me!

Best video/info regarding imbalance in the traps! I've noticed all the things you talked about but haven't made the connection how it all aligns to a muscle imbalance in the traps, I thought and thought about it but didn't get anywhere, "is my left arm maybe longer than my right one, am I tighter in my right shoulder than my left thus allowing for more pressure/stretch on the left side trap when I do deadlifts?" "Is it the way I sleep?" I also have alot of problems with torticolis(stiff neck) on and off, on the left side where my trap is bigger. I tend to favour my right leg when I stand still, my right oblique is bigger (and I get better muscle mind connection with the right one) my left lat is smaller both in width and thickness, and last but not least my left sternocleidomasteus (front neck muscle) is a lot bigger on the left side where I also have a bigger trapezius. this makes ALOT of sense, thank you for a good video! (I NEVER EVER comment on videos, I think this is my first. ) definitely gonna try your advice. liked, subscribed, favorited.
Hey man I have the exact same problem as you and was wondering witch leg you put forward on Jefferson deadlifts. Ive been doing them right leg forward but it doesn’t feel like the correct way just wanting to make sure. Thanks
Fascinating. My right trap is slightly larger, and my right lat is always horrendously tight. When I used to run a lot I noticed that my right leg always hit the floor really hard while my left was lighter which hurt my right foot and after a while I would be doing a weird one leg hop thing to try keep the weight off of my right side. Also I started Jeffersons yesterday and noticed that one side the bar went up fine but the other side kept hitting the back of my left leg and dragging up my hamstring, so could this mean my hips are dodgy?
Can you please HELP ME with this Question? My Q is: some people say to me ignore the people who say you have to eat before your exercise. They also say train after you walk up and don't eat. Some people say to me you have to eat before your workout. So who is right???
neither is better, it comes down to preference and which allows you to feel better and train harder. Eat and Train at the times that you feel best, as long as you're eating enough (in a day, doesnt matter if its over 2 meals or 6) and getting stronger you will build muscle

It's nice to see someone who actually knows what they are talking about! I trained for 5 years without knowing I had one leg 1cm shorter than the other and because of this I developed uneven hips, pecs, lats and a bit of mid thoracic scoliosis (my higher hip side became the dominant side). Been trying to address this problem for over a year now and can say your main friend will be myo-facial release work.
It can, but if you're doing high volume rows and other pulls with double overhand you should be good in most cases. Worst case scenario you double overhand with straps...big deal. (and use the tips in this video)
One thing to add. I have this but, it is caused by one foot being flater than the other. Causing the imbalanced hip, causing the imbalanced lats, causing the imbalanced traps, resulting in the pigeon neck and neck pain.
And yes it can be fixed if the cause of an imbalance is not executing the exercise correctly. Usually it happens when you're not retracting the scapula correct, so you lean more on one side than another which makes you push the weight unevenly. A lot of people are dealing with this issues, I see it all the time.

Muscle knots/tight muscles are a big issue, especially in the neck and traps. Myself included, lots of people tried for years to even their traps up and failed until seeing a physio or massage therapist.
So tell me if I have this right: my left trap is bigger > my hips are probably tilted to the right > do Jefferson Deadlifts with the left foot in front to correct.
What about uneven legs.. When i squat i tend to put more weight on my right side because it's stronger.. same thing with deadlifts.. my right glute is doing more than my left
Yeah, people don't touch these topics too often. I have permanent imbalances caused by wearing a backpack on one side of the body, which is a decision I regret very much today. No heavy lifting at this point. www.axischiropractic.com/BackPack/backpack2.jpg This caused a shorter leg, because of a tilted pelvis, slight scoliosis, squashed brachial plexus, uneven glutes, erectors, traps, sternocleidomastoid, triceps brachii medial head atrophy etc. etc. . Doing reverse hypers + isolating erectors did wonders, because I mitigated ( not fix, since bone damage is still there ) almost entirely all lower body problems, but upper probably needs surgery. Guess that's life, never wear your bacpacks like this boys & girls.
I was born with uneven legs, 1cm shorter than the other. It was an issue only before I started doing sports at 15 ish, after getting my musculature up to par I've never felt it in posture or strength. However, my traps show it like crazy, I have a whole wing to the left of my neck and almost nothing to the right. I had never made the connection until now, you're a lifesaver, Alex, thank you.
theaxemurderer80 Right. But I think doing a jerk with his push press weight can be done naturally though. My friend is a girl 5'2" and she can split jerk over 230, she's natty and was 16. So a grown man could prob get 405 over his head, but strict 315 is debatable. What disprives his natty status is really his bench press as well his upper back developement
I knew it. I had a feeling this was why i'm so imbalanced. I had actually started doing side bends and im glad i'm doing them. I need to do them more often though.
Alexander Leonidas always uploads very interessting topics. And his knowledge and energy is one of a kind. Looking foward to the stuff you will upload in 2017 man! Keep it up and stay Alpha!
Uneven traps could be down to dead lifting with an alternate grip too. The side with a supinated grip is probably the weak side as people tend to use their bicep to pull the weight which takes the stress off trap.
I caught my scoliosis late, 67° curve. I had surgery to correct it, but my entire left side is way stronger than my right side. Definitely going to try these.
All this talk of imbalance in the hips, many moons ago, I'd heard that having flat fleet or arches too high can contribute to imbalances. For example, if the arch in your foot is low, the ankle rolls in. The ankle rolls in, the knee has to compensate. Then the hip, the spine and the neck..
Video helped me out ,I realized he was right and the imbalance starts at the hips and makes it way up the upper body and legs too. I got uneven hips causing my right pelvis side to tilt up and my left trap is higher than the right trap. I found more stretches and exercises for faster results. Shrugging on one side wont help. Do more research on small exercises and stretches to fix lateral pelvic tilt. It will take time but your back and body will even out.
@it's Chrissy I would say yea, but it just gave me a notice dat my hips were uneven and I did further research on how to stretch my hips and I found plenty of stretches on UA-cam. If you sleep on your side all the time you should stop and start sleeping on your back because that was the reason why I had uneven hips.
@it's Chrissyyou should stretch your traps by watching dr michael rowe videos. Your face could be asymmetric because you chew one side more than the other or it could be your tongue could be stronger on one side and weaker on the other. I discovered that I had uneven tongue strength when I started mewing and one side of my jawline was sharper and the other was not sharp.
I have uneven traps. My left trap looks bigger than my right (I am right handed btw). Yet my right trap is much stronger. Could it be an uneven muscle insertion? My right lat is bigger and stronger than my left. My right side muscles are overall bigger and stronger than my left side, except for my damn traps where my left side is the biggest while my right trap is still the strongest. What could this be??? (Again I suspect an uneven muscle insertion.)
So useful, i have all that shit. Uneven hips, obliques, legs, traps, back, neck, tricep, eyes, jawline, hair and ass.

It just goes to show you can totally fuck up your body like that. From toes to head :)
Who diagnosed you?
I was born with uneven legs, 1cm shorter than the other.
It was an issue only before I started doing sports at 15 ish, after getting my musculature up to par I've never felt it in posture or strength.
However, my traps show it like crazy, I have a whole wing to the left of my neck and almost nothing to the right. I had never made the connection until now, you're a lifesaver, Alex, thank you.
yo alex do you think brian alsruhe is natty?
Yehonatan yarden No he is not natty at all
Anyone that can strict press 315 is not natural. its not even up for debate.
+theaxemurderer80 What about powerlifters?
theaxemurderer80 Right.
What do you mean? You think there are natural powerlifters that can strict press 315?
Good coverage Alex and some practical tips too, thumbs up buddy
Count Trapula, honestly it's hard to believe you are natty with those roid traps. Respect though.
Moving the table to my left side at lunch helped about 90% of it.
trap king
I knew it. I had a feeling this was why i'm so imbalanced. I had actually started doing side bends and im glad i'm doing them. I need to do them more often though.
Have you fixed it
This dude has no neck
it's a floating head
@@GDN_Dan they are not balanced
He replaced his neck with traps.
Alexander Leonidas always uploads very interessting topics. And his knowledge and energy is one of a kind.
Looking foward to the stuff you will upload in 2017 man! Keep it up and stay Alpha!
Was literally about to ask you about what I can do about one side of the neck looking meatier than the other. Nice timing.
I SWEAR TO GOD YOU SAVED MY LIFE WIT DIS
Uneven traps could be down to dead lifting with an alternate grip too. The side with a supinated grip is probably the weak side as people tend to use their bicep to pull the weight which takes the stress off trap.
Good point
he just described every problem i have . Thanks
Its just from carrying stuff with your dominant arm overtime, drags your shoulder down and stretches the trap
I have uneven hips, traps, triceps, chest, back traps, side wings, neck, abs. But I have imbalances right and left side. What should I do?
I caught my scoliosis late, 67° curve. I had surgery to correct it, but my entire left side is way stronger than my right side. Definitely going to try these.
All this talk of imbalance in the hips, many moons ago, I'd heard that having flat fleet or arches too high can contribute to imbalances. For example, if the arch in your foot is low, the ankle rolls in. The ankle rolls in, the knee has to compensate. Then the hip, the spine and the neck..
I think it can be also due to vision defects, different in each eye. In this case you keep rotating your head to one side. FIX THIS!
Brooo so true I have One lazy eye and have this problem
My left trap is bigger so step over with what leg sorry ?
Is this because of my comment yesterday?
I actually had my alignment medically tested
This is pretty accurate to the advice i was given to fix it
Uneven chest is a huge problem for me :/
Brilliant stuff man
keep it up
Thank you for the real information I’ve had this problem from years and didn’t know how to fix it
Favorite fitness channel
Your a godsend I've had problems for years and didn't realise it it's helped me so much with a lot of things 👊
Did u fix it yourself if so what lat was bigger and what foot did u put in front with the jefferson dl
I agree because I have uneven hips and it fucked up my knee. But thanks to the doctor it's improving.
@AlphaDestiny
What if you don't know which side of your hip is inbalanced?
Can confirm, have uneven traps (and legs) because of hip imbalance. Will try these exercises, thanks man.
I don't have access to a gym/gym equipment. Any bodyweight excersizes to address these dysfunctions?
You gives true information bro! This video helped me alot ! Salute you
Coming from someone with uneven traps rly helpful
If we have uneven hips would running be a bad idea? Would it help or cause more problems?
I have a hip imbalance and uneven traps. How do I fix the imbalance in my hips?
@it's Chrissy no still waiting on a reply
Did you even watch the video lol
I have uneven traps. My left trap looks bigger than my right (I am right handed btw). Yet my right trap is much stronger. Could it be an uneven muscle insertion? My right lat is bigger and stronger than my left. My right side muscles are overall bigger and stronger than my left side, except for my damn traps where my left side is the biggest while my right trap is still the strongest. What could this be??? (Again I suspect an uneven muscle insertion.)
damn, i have the same problem, did you get the solution???
i have uneven traps because as a kid i broke my collarbone and the one side didnt get exercise for a couple months
Either I've been watching a lot of your old videos or you've gained a lot recently

Jumping on the gain train
anyone tried and got results? i just dont understand how the Jefferson can phisically help with lateral pelvic tilt
