Jabuticabeira, very rare to be found, native to Brazil, produces beautiful black fruits with an intensely purplish pulp, even when they are not completely ripe. Very productive variety, its fruits are sweet and have a pleasant taste. Great for in-natura consumption, juices, jams and liqueurs.
Small tree, usually no more than 4 to 5 meters tall. It has thin, long leaves, similar to Plinia cauliflora and beautiful new shoots. Rustic plant easy to grow, should be planted in full sun or partial shade. Likes fertile, moist soil with good drainage. Seedlings begin to bear fruit 8-10 years after planting.

Minha fruta preferida, quando criança, saia pelo bairro a procura de árvores carregas de frutos maduros, enchia as sacolas e passava a tarde comendo, comia com semente mesmo, o que me rendeu um intestino entupido. 😅
