8:21 is such a nasty pitch.
I'm a nobody. But I just helped a highschool kid with this exact thing this weekend. So Sim I hope you see this. The reason you are late on a lot of fastballs( even tho it's your favorite pitch and you are waiting for fastballs) is that during your step faze, you cork your bat head forward. Then when you engage the swing, your bat follows a Nike sign, and makes you late. Try positioning your bat at a almost a 45 degree angle backwards when you take your step. And your body mechanics and crazy good bat speed will do the rest. And u will hit tanks. Like I said, I am a nobody. But your opening clip of u hitting lefty. You do exactly what I'm saying. But because you are naturally a righty, you don't think about it... Just a trick to think about. As always, thanks for the great content. And like I said. I am a nobody, so please don't take offense. I'm just a little league coach, and saw that hitch...
the “cork” of the bat head forward serves to add more tension in the wrists to make the snap of the bat during the swing more powerful. Pretty much every hitter with few exceptions get to that position at the “top” of their load. Besides, the swing is initiated by the hip firing followed by the knob starting to come through the zone, so that fix is irrelevant at that point. I get what you’re saying, however.

Hey Joshua! It’s short for the term “Getting the Doors Blown Off”. He says it when there’s a fastball thrown right by the hitter. “Literally, to trigger an explosion in some sort of secure space, of sufficient strength to breach the doors.” Hope this helps.
