  • De vraag naar biomassa als grondstof stijgt vanuit verschillende sectoren. Daarom wordt er sterk gezocht naar mogelijkheden om extra biomassa te telen en oogsten. Korrelmaïsstro is in dat opzicht een heel interessante bron, omdat het vandaag nog niet wordt geoogst en er hiervan ruim 450 000 ton droge stof aanwezig is in Vlaanderen. Het aantal oogstmachines die maïsstro mee kan oogsten in Vlaanderen is echter nog beperkt. Bij de oogst moet bovendien maximaal rekening gehouden worden met verschillende randvoorwaarden: oogstefficiëntie van de korrel, minimum aan werkgangen, beperken van bodemcompactie en bevuiling van het stro met grond. Hoewel er in het buitenland (o.m. in de Verenigde Staten) meer ervaring is met het oogsten van maïsstro, zijn deze oogstmachines niet voldoende aangepast voor de oogst in onze klimaatomstandigheden. Verschillende Vlaamse pioniers testten daarom vorig jaar enkele oogstmogelijkheden zelf voor maïsstro uit.
    Twee van deze pioniers waren Jos Renders (biogasinstallatie Agri-Power) en Tim Kenis (verdeler & constructie landbouwmachines, Kenis nv). Zij realiseerden in één machine de combinatie van een maïshakselaar met een kolvenplukker.
    The demand for biomass feedstock increases from different sectors. Therefore, it is highly sought opportunities to additional biomass cultivation and harvesting. Grain Maize Straw is in that sense a very interesting source because it is still not yet harvested and this more than 450 000 tons of dry matter is present in Flanders. The number of harvesters that can harvest corn stover participate in Flanders is still limited. Must be at harvest may take account of different conditions up account: reduce harvesting efficiency of the grain, minimal work corridors, soil compaction and contamination of the soil with straw. These harvesters Although there abroad (including in the United States) more experience with harvesting corn stover, not sufficiently adapted for harvest in our climate. Several Flemish pioneers therefore tested last year single harvest opportunities themselves for corn stover off.
    Two of these pioneers were Jos Renders (biogas plant Agri-Power) and Tim Kenis (distributor construction & agricultural machinery, Kenis NV). They realized in one machine the combination of a corn chopper with a harvester.

    If cob and straw are mixed after all the process, I can't get the point, why a traditional forage harvester can't be used ?

      @ronnyvanhuffel4723 9 років тому +3

      the straw and crops aren't mixed after. The crops are used for food and the straw for biomass

    Help me out here. So the combine head snaps the ears off like in old days and then what looks like a rotary cutter cuts the stalks on down closer and saves them to a wagon to be used in a plant. The silage aspect of the operation seems simple but I guess the question is what is done with the whole ears. The plants look like they are plenty green so the ear most probably would be full of moisture. First problem that comes to mind is mold etc. on the ears during storage. It is a pretty nifty operation. :)

      +jbmbanter the cobs are ground up and used for silage and the stalks will probably be used for biomass

      Thanks Alex Sometimes when I ask a question some of the 'haters' call me stupid or just dumb. It is always great to receive a positive response to what might seem to others a dumb or stupid question.

      +jbmbanter Hardly a dumb question! and unfortunately a large amount of the UA-cam user base seem to get their kicks from needlessly insulting others.

      Thanks Alex! It is great to know that most everyone who watches and comments on UA-cam videos is decent and willing to help others who do not understand the content of a video. :)

    It's quite a machine. I don't know why, but i'm actually glad NH never began full production of such machines. I at least hope they didn't. I love NH, but i don't really see a use of a machine like that

      +Alex Murphy . yes, or if they stick on a cornsheller where the corn cobs come out, you'll get a cleaner grain . the corn goes up the conveyor and the left over cobs and leaves go back into the harvester.

    • @alexmurphy2049
      @alexmurphy2049 8 років тому

      Yes, but you can also use the grains only for corn cob mix so thats where the corn sheller's for

    Because depletion of the soil isn't a problem at all. This shit makes the ground useless after a few years.

    • @AgropolSokoowoTV
      @AgropolSokoowoTV 9 років тому

      Roger Crouch why?

    • @achartflorent3682
      @achartflorent3682 9 років тому

      +Roger Crouch they are making silage so they must have plenty of manure to refill the soil on
      organic matter

    • @staalmaffia
      @staalmaffia 8 років тому

      in the netherlands there is an enormous manure surplus. it is an enormous problem here, soil depletion really isn't an issue

    • @canihasname
      @canihasname 8 років тому

      +Roger Crouch While it looks like it its destroying the soil rapidly, root material is the biggest builder of soil. Tillage is still much more damaging that anything we can do with removal. Also as previously mentioned this is most likely for a dairy farm and they will add tons of manure actually increasing the organic matter content and improving the soil.
