Yes he is great work the only problem I have with the fire tv cube is that Amazon didn't put in the option to clear your default apps like WTF Amazon thats the essentials 🤷♂️🙋♂️
Fantastic app, Thank You. Because I have a Prime Account, I now have 37 processes disabled, Prime works well & the added non-spoken benefit is the only buffering I now encounter is from using a slow server. This is a Game Changer for a 4K Firestick & incredibly easy to use. Thanks Again.
I agree so far. My firestick4k seems to behaving better. No random disconnects (random toggle of USB connections) of USB happening. Seems to help the stick behave better. will report back if we see other issues. Had to put VPN in blacklist mode to get prime working though.

There has to be an app that will move programs to usb automatically w/o your having to uninstall them and re-install them after enabling the usb. Have a 4k (Not Max) Just clicked on follow, great explanations and updates. Thanks 🙏

This is a great help. Wondering if I want to use usb to expand my memory of my 4K will one of these processes stop recognizing a usb drive? I enabled all and my usb isn’t recognized but when I enable everything again drive is now recognized. The problem is I have no idea which one is effecting this! Thanks for any help.

This morning I followed your instructions and I am so impressed how well that it speeds up my FireStick! If ok, I would like to ask one question unrelated to debugging. When I go through settings on my FireStick to get to my managed applications each app that I select displays a window that says at the bottom “no defaults set”. I have always had that and haven’t done anything about it because my FireStick works great. My question is IS THERE ANYWAY TO SET THESE DEFAULTS AND WOULD THERE BE ANY BENEFIT? Hey if you install Virus total mobile on your stick and do a scan, and check system apps it tells you exactly what proccesses are frozen and what they are.

@Lesley Hawkes TechDoctorUK If you have IPVanish, it has a tunnel feature to allow apks to work that otherwise suffer from not working via vpn. In US, I needed it for Netflix, Sky News, etc. Basically, any certified Amazon apk, which you don’t mind tracking your usage - like Prime Videos, can be put in the tunnel of no vpn protection.

However after making these changes to the stop, with a few exceptions all those bloated programs running in the background, will this stop the Firestick from running automatic updates? Is it safe to do so still? And which program needs to be unchecked to allow automatic updates so that the Firestick gets all the latest including possible Android improvements and versions.

@allan parrott TechDoctorUK This is how I switched Cubes. 1. Log in with the same Amazon account on both devices. When you log in on the new one it will offer your “purchased” apk’s (from Amazon). 2. I wrote a list of the Downloader faves and all sideloaded apk’s, before switching since I returned a device to Amazon as trade in, got Downloader from Amazon, entered my faves again. This sets up where to get FileLinked (with store codes) and Aptoid for others on the list. Troypoint has a Rapid App Installer which is like a FileLinked store also.
After using Debloat, and leaving the 3 Prime video options unchecked (as you mentioned), which apps can I safely delete in my ES Pro, that will not affect my Prime video use, to gain more memory?
@@TechDoctorUK i know that the amazon helpdesk can ask for your IP address and see what apps you have so i always assumed they would be also navigating the device from their end....yet for the costumer there must be a way as well ....i use teamviewer for stock android tv boxs and it works great i have helped a lot of people maintain there boxes but for firestick peeps man it doesnt work

Hi, I use Tivimate and since disabling all 40 processes with the debloat tool I am unable to record programs to USB however, when I restarted all the processes then I was able to record again. Do you happen to know which particular processes are required for recording? Many thanks, M.
had similar issues with my VPN running in the background (whitelist bypass mode) as the PRIME VIDEO would not work. Had to change the VPN to blacklist mode, where only the apps that need VPN to function get it, upon launch. Advice is to do lots of experiments with the various debloated apps, and report back which made your external USB stick storage process work again. My external USB stick continues to work fine.
mrferraridave - I did not. Just ended up rebooting upon lockup. Turned off DEBLOAT completely. Not worth it as it did not save enough processing power. My latest issue is random audio loss to my ECHO speakers. Reboot restores them. -- Decided to buy an $8 wifi ALEXA power plug for the FIRE stick 4k as I can then just cycle power to to a complete reboot, via an alexa command. Rebooting takes maybe 60 seconds or less to complete so nu problem with waiting on that.

TDUK, just to confirm, I have it working on my 2nd Gen Fire Cube. There are 4 processes that will not turn off, and I would assume the command is written differently in the 4k Firestick than in the 2nd Gen fire Cube Great work as always TDUK. Now, if I could just figure out how to get the Live Channels app to work with the 2nd Gen Fire Cube, I would be happier. I went and looked at the different versions of this app, and it says it works with Android 9. There are 3 versions of the app, but alas, none would work. I suppose the fire Cube is a different version of Android 9 than what will work.

I just ran the fire os 5 debloat tool on my second gen fire TV and was only able to remove 13 of the 15 things listed 2 of them came up with a error

You could go the long route if all else fails and disable one process at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem.
