This is a cover of a big success of the great Charles Aznavour.
He was the first in the 70s, with this song, to defend the LGBT community.

There was no LGBT community or some kind of LGBT issues in that time, particularly like we know it nowadays.
@@julienpithois6391 yes I know indeed about LGBT being a recent concept only, I was only using this word as this is the current vocabulary from the new generation and because Lara herself would easily extend her message to this entire community ( she has participated in Pride concerts in Montreal under her his banner)

The french title is : I am a homo, as they say. It was sung at first by a man, Charles Aznavour.
Not exactly, it’s a word game with double meaning:
- je suis un homme, oh!, comme ils disent
- je suis un homo, comme ils disent
Which could be translater as :
- I am a man, ooh, as they say
- I am a gay, as they say

The captions in English are wrong. When she sings "je suis an homo" it does not mean "I am a man": it means "I am a homosexual" that's what "homo" stands for in French. It is the whole point of the song. A gay man telling his story as a Drag Queen.
