I like it, just a couple of guys hanging out, talking about imaging stuff, the ins and outs of every aspect of motion, and stills. Yeah, I would definitely watch this. I put it on the queue and just listen to it in the background. Hear what you guys are saying, that type of thing.
Loved this, straight talk, no BS, no trying to sell anything, no shouting at the camera, no pointless cuts between every word. Perfect as a podcast to listen to also. Recommend uploading to Audible, spotify or something (so long as it's free to do so).
This was the best high quality and honest straight forward conversation about modern photography as a commercial digital photographer and studio. I absolutely loved it. You both know what you are talking about. I used to do commercial photography in the mid 1980s and 1990s in the film era. I used to shoot on large format Sinar cameras and Hasselblad film camera. It was before the digital era. Kind regards from Copenhagen, Denmark (I'm 58 years of age). Good luck with your channel.
I absolutely love that TV intro with the jazz (i personally would have chosen something lil more naughty, like a late night showtime original, but you do you!)
I thoroughly enjoyed this. While I'm still learning the art and trying to put together a body of work, I would also like to understand the photographer's relationship with others i.e. clients, retouchers etc. I would like to see more like this.
Very interesting. As I've said before I never realised so much was involved in producing the final image. Great conversation, you're both very skilled too
I have watched the video now. I’m so old now, everyone looks young. I’ve been unsubscribing a lot but in the photography space this is practically the only channel I watch. Answers are more helpful than you might think.
Nice relaxed chat, easy to watch and listen to, maybe get a couple of easy chairs rather than stools. Great to hear a sensible take on AI and loved 'Jack of all trades master of none' I haven't heard that in a long time 🙂
very good listen! it would be interesting to interview other professions interwoven with your business - stylist, producers, hand models maybe even (?) and whomever else
This was much more interesting than I first thought - over 45 minutes, much too long for me! Well, I did it to the end. But we need to talk about your taste when it comes to beer … Heineken … disgusting … 😁
So glad you made the comment about middle aged men shooting semi clothed young girls was one of the reason we left the local camera club as not only some members thought it was ok but the judges gave good marks to dreadful photos because they liked the girls! How long ago did you shoot this? Is this the original rescue dog which didn’t work out or a new one?
Don't you find that once you edited photos and you look at them the next day you still find some details that still need to be fixed? That's related to shooting, editing and delivering the next day to the client
aside from having different set of eyes over it like he said, you also have to set guidelines and scope limits for your own work. you would never be done because theres always something to fix or improve, but its important to remember that aside for your deliverables, you are also billing for the time you are spending for those deliverables. if you do try to deliver too much over and over, it would just lead to scope creeping where the product you deliver is already way over the money you are getting paid for. if you are consistently cutting the deadline close, its a high sign that you are promising too much within the time you are allotted to.
Hi both tanks for sharing your knowlodge. I very much apreciate. I supose you are aware of Carl Taylor from visual education youtube. He does product, modeling, street, portrait, fashion as well as landscape photography, and his work looks very high-end. Can you explain to us what is the ups and down of shooting multiple niche within photography?
On the point of AI tools, as you mentioned, AI selection, I have found the same thing with my work, just doesn't get it right and the time it takes to match the AI selection with fixing the parts it missed made you so frustrated, you end up masking the whole thing anyways. I saw a meme the other day of Milli Vanilli and it read "Milli Vanilli watching Tiktokers getting rich miming songs"
I’m with Rob on the preference for landscape, although only from a video perspective. I hate seeing people shooting video in portrait mode. It just seems lazy.
I watched about five minutes before moving on. It has nothing to do with the content. I listen to podcasts everyday and can tell you where you are going wrong with this one as a podcast or a video on UA-cam. It’s too long! More than 30 minutes for a podcast and more than 15-20 minutes on youtube is a stretch. I am not a professional photographer and never will be. But I do enjoy your channel. If you can’t say it in 25-30 minutes then it probably isn’t worth saying.
This is just a test of gear, but let me know what you would like from this format in the comments below.
I loved the long form format!
O@@justintheowlman
14mins in and already and absolute gold mine of knowledge and insight

Old School editing is the way to get high quality results! Hat off to Rob he is the real deal.
I like how you explained higher resolution camera sensors benefiting post processing. This brings clarity to the discussion.
Loved this conversation. Looking forward to the next one.
Very insightful and useful.... I like this podcast format. Rob is a legend!

I'm all for this! Feels like a natural extension of your channel. Looking forward to more!
Thanks!

Totally agree on manual selection. Those Photoshop demos on selection don’t really work when you need files for bigger display than web.
I loved listening to this in the background while working on my photos!
Keep it coming! =D
Love the Podcast! Thanks Scott!

keen for next ep !!!
Really enjoyable, informative and engaging. Thank you both.

Love this!! More podcasts! 👌
YES!
Thoroughly enjoyed this casual chat vibe and the anecdotes as well. Would you consider uploading just audio onto apple podcasts/spotify?
Great conversation!!! Love your educational videos on UA-cam and absolutely will tune in to your podcast!! THANK YOU SM❤

Thank you!
nice change up of format and kicking back relaxing - shooting the $hit.
Great conversation, insightful and entertaining please keep doing it. Thanks!
I just wanna quickly say that I love this! Especially rob is doing a fantastic job at talking :D this podcast is proper fun to listen to!
very good listen! it would be interesting to interview other professions interwoven with your business - stylist, producers, hand models maybe even (?) and whomever else
Really enjoyed listening to this one while editing photos!
DaVinci is easy to use. Took me about a week of faffing around to learn it.

It might seem like a stupid question, but is the actual printing side keeping up with the high pixels?
Printing hasnt changed since the 90s
What was it in Chippjng Norton that made you change your style?
Nice intro'.
Love your 'real' videos!

Excellent!
Groovy intro!

We have usually had several sets of eyes over it before it goes anywhere

Really interesting conversation and you both seem like completely unpretentious blokes too.
i like the beard game in this
Tin House coasters when? lol
Adobe camera raw ai noise reduction feature is pretty good. I would say better than Capture One.
"shit hot" is now my new favorite phrase ❤

Hmm, I don't think you understand AI. LLM, large language models.
Hello from South Korea!!
Ahoy
Scott - I'm watching you.....
Hello from Nigeria
Hey hey
Alright im here. you can start now...
I’m with Rob on the preference for landscape, although only from a video perspective. I hate seeing people shooting video in portrait mode. It just seems lazy.
Flickr is currently overpriced unfortunately :(
My girlfriend wanted to know why you have every single colour pool noodle on display? 😂🤣 I didn't tell her, I think her truth is better 😂
Nice, same exact name as the podcast Chris Marquardt has done about 300 episodes of so far.
Ah is his called the tin house studio podcast too? Might have to rename mine
how much did you get paid for Heineken beer placement ? wtf ????
FREE - That is for exposure
@@justintheowlman didn't ask you 🤦🏻
About the same as the Fanta one haha
