6 frequently used sets in kpop mv

- have you ever watched a kpop mv and be like 'wait, this look familiar 🤔'
here is a compilation of Kpop music videos that share the same sets.
there are a lot of mvs missing since I don't want to make the video too long or I just don't know that mv so tell me about the ones you know in the comment section!
also I didn't include some places because:
- other people have already include them in their video
- they are similar but not the exact same place
intro + outro: woo woo - dia
• DIA 다이아 ‘우우(WooWoo)’ O... - Розваги
not this video getting more views than some of the mvs featured in this video 😭😭
no, the tunnels, subways and theaters are not the same place
;-;
LMFAOOAOA WHAT FR?
Kinda sad omg
LMFAO
not me using this vid to find more music to listen to
edit: Pinky promise is a hidden gem go listen to it its beautiful
Whoever is renting those warehouses is making bank
Lmaoo
this was my exact same thought lol
💀💀💀
@@eeeeeee11 are you implying they went to france to get a music video shot location rather than.. just have liscence/trucks available for rent that happen to be foreign
They do be stonks 👀
wow i thought it was like the same “set concept” but it’s literally the same room 💀💀💀
LMAO SAME
Lol same
Lol same
sAMEE
But they really make it seem not the same unless it’s being pointed out in a video like this
I have no problem with repeated sets if they actually tried to make them look different
Yeah same :/
gwsn's customization felt really cool
@@cereyza I didnt even recognize
Another one:
1. The Kpop Tunnel(literally)
2. That theatre with red seats.(it's everywhere bro)
3. That round building that Kim lip shot her video in.
2. SM boxes😂😂😂
Not the kpop Tunnel I-
Also YGs luxury car 🚗🚗🚗
SM box is lit. HAHAAH rip
SM's minimalism
3. Minseo-zero also
You're forgetting the theater with red seats™ and circle building with many levels™
Yeah BWAHAHAHAHA
but the thing is the movie theatre isn't really the exact same for every mv, that i've seen, at least. in these listed in the video, the sets are literally identical x'))
Yeah!!
Omfg yes that building
the one from eclipse?
wow i thought they were just familiar, didn't realize they were the exact set
how do all these groups have the exact same sets?? isn't it basically plagiarism or is there some reason why?
@@erxnga it isn't really plagiarism but more off could be rentable studios or sets are limited in korea? I guess that is why some groups film in other countries
Note: I'm just guessing
@@moonlightboyz6410 ohhhh i see!
@@erxnga definitely rentable sets for music videos and that’s why you find it’s a lot of more underrated or less popular groups that use them because they’re a lot more affordable than constructing their own set for one music video
Same I thought they were similar concepts/inspirations not the same set hehe
meanwhile the fans: "omg they're in the same universe!! the mvs are all connected!!"
It’s not necessarily a bad thing that the sets are being reused. We have to remember South Korea is a small place so there are going to be a lot of reused sets but it’s not a bad thing
The fact that they do not feel reused is the point
@@pinkypromise_ South Korea is a small
Place lpl
Not only that, many of the groups mentioned (especially with the ones that don't look customized) are lower budget nugu groups. They had to use a set they could afford
@@imagiguard nugu?
@@imagiguard Oh.. I hope they get the recognition they deserve!
I actually don’t think any of these overused sets are a bad thing - they’re an affordable option for mvs
And the props/decors able made each mvs different too.
The props and outfits make up for it too
it'a not a bad thingg. the op just probably noticed and decided to make a vid out of it
Yeah. And they still look good. As long as the choreo, colour pallete, and other sets are different, it doesn't matter much
Just remind to not hate this groups because they are not that popular or they came from a small company, that's why they didn't have a big budget for making their own set.
The way you said LOONA doesn't have a big budget. 😂 They wasted 9.8 million dollars for their pre-debut.
@@deyleigh6487 maybe they focused at other sets that they forget to budget the other sets. Plus, I am not a fan of loona, i do not even know them.
@@deyleigh6487 Tbh they blew a lot of that with the first 5 girls, they’re the ones that got to fly to across the world several times 😳 The rest of the girls only got to go like once instead of 3 or 4. Also favorite was a pre release while Love and Live w Choerry was never officially released??
@@Roman-vl1fy yes, it wasn't officially released.
근데 보면 다 듣보에 인기없는 애들이긴 함... 아이들 보아 마마무 에핑 뺴곤 다
The theater with red seats, and that church looking building in Jessi’s MV lmfao
Lol, I was going to comment that ,there is even an cpop group with the same set as hers, Monsta X, Exo,Nex7(cpop)
Yes! I noticed 2PM has that same location as well! Lol
im surprised to see that the scene on the top of the building with a circle and a huge ass H is not in the list lmao
Omg yes!
Monsta X - Hero and SF9 - Summer Breeze at an instant thought
Victon too
YES
victon and stray kids 😭
I'm surprised the infamous "k-pop tunnel" wasn't included, lol.
they are similiar but they aren't from the exact same place so i didn't add them
There's the big tunnel and the small tunnel, the small tunnel's been used a LOT in kpop mv's like for UKISS Believe and Shinhwa Venus
I was just about to make this very same comment Lmao, WHERE'S THE TUNNEL!!!?
That's famous in kdrama too 😁
me too
Most of these are a very generic building being used over and over so I can understand why they are in so many videos. But the room with the flower vines and the blue door is SO specific! It’s actually impressive how different lighting and certain angles can be used to change it up.
agreed! like with every change of song the vibe changes as well even though the location is exactly the same, it was honestly a pleasant surprise for me haha and yes all those different set designs are gorgeous
@@lydiawulanastri6454 Exactly! Like damn... If i were to bingewatch like three of those videos and tested, it'll take me a while to realize it's the same location.
i'm actually shocked at how that place looks ENTIRELY DIFFERENT in clc's hobgoblin. the creative team did a great job
The same thing is happening with the brick room with windows. You can see how different it looks just drom changing from a darker to a lighter song
i didn't realise how much lighting could effect the look of these mvs, and change the set so much XD
Let's appreciate the maker of this video for mostly including the underrated groups.
This video was suprisingly helpful to find underrated groups-
yes and no ur not joon's trash....if ur joon's trash then i am joon's onion XD
Was legit thinking the same thing!
right, im defo gonna listen to these songs now.
Yes i found some good music 0___0
Stan Newkidd for an underrated group.
I was like oh it's because they're from a small company but then big ass companies started showing up so I was like oh?? so we are just lazy lmao
Lmao same
there were some songs who were actually just old, so that's why
we don't know if they're lazy or the creative team being pressured with deadline or they have to save the budget. so🤷♀️
Or just bc that set fits the theme of their concept, nothing bad about overusing a set if you can make it look good
If the big companies you refer to are the big 3 then yes that’s understandable but some groups below the big 3 actually struggled at the time and as result sometimes need to record with lower budgets and less creative sets.
Number five isn't actually a warehouse, it's a famous cafe in Incheon~ It's called Cafe Valor for anyone interested. There aren't a lot of places specifically for filming music videos in Korea due to space, so a lot of these 'sets' are actually cafes, photozones, or spaces that people also use for photoshoots for their weddings/graduation/couple shots etc.
this makes sense! thank you for sharing this information! 😊
this is proof that a good camera crew makes a world of difference for an mv
edit: props too
and editors! a lot can be done with just a few effects to make the set look completely different without actually touching a thing.
I was surprised we didnt get the tunnel thats been in everything and also the abandoned circle building; Everglow, Loona, I think monster X
stray kids hellevator too
and this abandoned building with pools, bts’s fire, knk’s knock, omg’s ahing and more where filmed there
Yeasss!! Eclipse by Kim Lip, Mayday by Victon, To Be or Not To Be by Oneus and many more
and victon
It's in onf why too lmao
Honestly I feel like people can’t tell like me because of the different lighting and vibe the set gives with the different songs.
This is honestly making me really appreciate all the editors, videographers, and lighting designers that worked on all of these to make each location still feel distinct and unique to each individual artist.
Can we talk about the theatre used in love shot, come back home, black swan, etc.
Isn't it in Baby don't stop too? But it's still relatively little.
I don’t think black swan used the same one. I’m pretty sure there’s was one in LA
And a.c.e savage
@@raynatumbeva780 baby don't stop was in ukraine so definitely not the same one
İt's in kang daniels song too 2U
Next should be overused Kpop imagery such as flying cars, flower fields, lasers, etc
yesss and fire and chandeliers (me and my mom have an inside joke about every kpop mv having flowers, fire and chandeliers)
Ehem exo mv😂😂😂
Flying cars?
Where is that lol?
@@RiRi-ku6xz it’s not just flying cars but cars in general I guess but there are flying cars in Key’s Forever Yours, WJSN’s Secret, and Oh My Girl’s Remember Me 😭😭
@@choerim8986 they really do!! A lot of recent ones as well have a bunch of tech themes lmao
The circular building wasn't included from Loona- Eclipse and Stray Kids- Hellevator. But wow, noticed pretty much 75% of these sets ...
vixx - the closer was also filmed in that circular building! i guess that's a popular set too
also, Victon's Mayday
and oneus - to be or not to be
Also Zero by MINSEO!
I was about to comment this.
remember around 2011 when everyone would complain about sm entertainment filming mvs in the same box room?
Really? I did not notice that. Could you show me please?
The flower room is so pretty, so many of these sets are so aesthetic, I get why they keep using them...
I love the set
I'm not sure, but I think it might have to do with the price of the sets.
Yeah...they are cheap
I just wish they use different angles. It's mostly cause they used the same angle and props too.
@@notmyname3556 Yeah that's true
Yeah the big3 and bighit ent have the money to make a set themselves. They could build a whole warehouse themselves for their own use
@@valxoxo9811 but they actually don't. Fx for example, for red light they used a warehouse too. But if you see their cinematography, you'll find that their focus has never been the warehouse itself. That's also why I mentioned the angles.
Forgetting to put ATEEZ hala hala in the abandoned warehouse part is a sin
You got that right, how could anyone forget that? I also commented about the channel missing the Ateez HALLA HALLA MV before seeing your comment.
This just shows how the same exact set can give a COMPLETELY different vibe with every group! It’s actually insane and so fascinating to watch in this video!
Seeing the warehouse set made me think of 2 more you can add to that list: Fromis_9 - DKDK and UNB - Black Heart
if i remember correctly district 9 by stray kids was also filmed there
Is hala hala by ateez also in the same set?
Park Bom Spring and Solar spit it out too
Heize dont know you too
And Sistar19’s ‘Ma Boy’
Bts make "for you" in that final set
I knew it was familiar!
Nostalgic
Yess
When that set appeared I thought "wait, wasn't For You recorded there too?" but I wasn't sure if it was the same one
@@Iownchanwoo It doesn't seem like it.
When you realize that deja vu wasn't in your head.
Even though the sets are overused, I really like how each group adds their own props, lightings, and stuff to the backgrounds of it, makes it look unique
I’m surprised that BTS’s for you was not a part of the abandoned warehouse with windows and day6’s if wasn’t in the abandoned warehouse
i mean, almost all of these groups are very small or started as such, so it makes sense they all re-use the same sets.
I honestly don’t mind if the set it overused as long as the song holds up
Companies when they see an abandoned warehouse: this would be the perfect place for a music video.
ONEWEs "Q" feat. Hwasa was also in set 2 and a mnet christmas medley of them in set 5. ATEEZ "hala hala" was also filmed in set 3
Me who never notice anything: So there was windows in in that room ? Oh ok...
1:27 I think ATEEZ's Hala Hala Performance MV was also shot there
Imagine the producer giving concepts like :
"Okay, in this part I want them to dance on the abandoned warehouse™ and the next scene is them sitting in front of the lavender door™, can we book the venues?"
also i had no idea that those scenes in summer rain and shine were the same set lol, ive seen those mvs a million times cause i love those groups but somehow i just never noticed. i associate it more with summer rain since you see more of that room in that video, so seeing that the shine "classroom" set is actually the summer rain warehouse blew my mind haha
i love how the set 1 is made in the same place
edit: every set is made in the same place
*bruh*
this was so bruh moment
No shit Sherlock
THE FACT THAT G-REYISH WAS HERE MADE ME SO HAPPY (i just really like that people know they exist)
kpop companies: so uhhh, guys? we need music video idea-
video producers: w a r e h o u s e .
Never actually thought they were the exact same sets
Wasn't HALA HALA also filmed in the warehouse?
I think so...
yes! that's what I immediately thought of!!
Yooooo some of the customizations are hella cool though, they make it work if they put in the effort (and budget)
“The room...”
“The room...”
“The...with windows”
“The warehouse...”
“The warehouse...”
“The warehouse with windows”
“The...with windows”
“The room with windows”
So descriptive I love it 😂😂😂
3:05 BVNDIT - 'DRAMATIC'
LunarSolar - 'OH YA YA YA'
They were also filmed there ♡
"The room with a big window" LMAOO i screamed
this is actually so satisfying seeing how they “styled“ the locations differently together with the vibe of the song
Thank you for including my faves! Makes me happy
I can't complain, they all give it a different vibe with how they decorate it.
Also, I thought I'd see the theatre. The one with red seats and white walls and whatnot
I can't believe I'm jealous of a huge empty warehouse but so many of my favorite groups were there I can't help myself
Thank you so much for including Busters
ok i was surprised by the amount of underrated kpop groups bcs of this video that i had to look for them ✋🏻
the infamous kpop tunnel and abandoned circle warehouse building ajoidhiowha
The DIA intro/outro MV (WOO WOO) also filmed in a set i see several times (Or should i say place?): SVT HOME, KNK Lonely Night, GOT7 Look, MXM Knock Knock
it's not a mv set so i was saving it for another video
The set in number 6 was also used in Ladies' Code's "Feedback" mv
there's a small company intern watching this right now and they're taking notes
I swear the director was like: 'kay so for the music video, let's shoot it at somewhere... aesthetic... a place like... *warehouse* but warehouse is kinda overused. *then let's add some lightbulb*
I thought the circular abandonnés place of stray kids’ hellevator and Kim lip solo would have been here
There's also the abandoned building with tons of floors used in Block B's "Shall We Dance", Shinee's "Tell Me What To Do" and Seventeen's "Left and Right"
Not to mention the little clearing that Kim Lip used for Eclipse and Stray Kids used for Hellevator
what was to is with set 3,that's the same room with halla halla from ateez
im sorry if it's was bad english.
You right
Yes Hala Hala too
yes !!
since these groups are all a bit smaller I feel like it's just a low budget spot
What do u mean by a bit smaller?
@@NSNFreedom less popular
@@yea7313 hmmm okay i understand. However hmm a bit disagree about this... Some of groups use a low budget in the beginning coz yeah they're from small company but then now, they're become a great n successful groups and achieve many wins.
@@NSNFreedom yes I kinda mean like from low budget company's/groups
@@yea7313 owh okay. Somehow i hope in the future u will state a better statement coz it will misunderstanding someone with your statement just like me 🙂 haha
Im really glad to know that there are still more groups I didnt know. Thankyou so muuuuuuch 🥰
It's cool to see how different groups change completely the energy of the same set.
i’m surprised that the theater didn’t show up because i can think of three groups that filmed in that theater
The fact that when i saw the 4 set I screamed GFRIEND was like, damn i'm obsessed
The fact that gfriend introduced that abandoned place first dont know it would make that place famous to shooting mv
Lmao yes I screamed too when gfriend came out
Like same summer rain is so underrated:-:
@@pjmsparkle5104 YES.
so gon' ignore the tunnel where Itzy found Beomgyu
I like the way that some groups use more props and decor inside these same sets- some groups just don’t add anything and that makes it overused when you see it without personality, but when it’s more personalized to the song and group it’s like their owning that set better then the ones who just use it as is
I feel so dumb for not realizing multiple kpop groups use the same physical sets lmaoo but I can't lie I kind of have a soft spot for #1, although my favorite "set" in general is probably just outside on the sidewalk and stuff lol
i guess there are only so many places around seoul hahaha. especially since a lot of these groups dont seem to have a huge budget
also one that i notice every time is an outdoor location, it's an abandoned brick building. it's in wayv moonwalk, g idle uh oh, exid lady, and a brief shot in fromis 9 dkdk, among others. i like stuff like this though, it's like an easter egg or a wheres waldo type thing for me haha, i dont think it's bad at all. it's fun to spot this stuff
The exterior brick wall is not only in one G-Idle MV but actually in two hahah, they filmed there both in Latata and Uh Oh
2:09 *The abandoned warehouse with windows*
cries in 365 mv
I just realised there are a lot of underrated groups who actually need our support . They work hard to debut so let's make sure to support these groups too alongside our ultimates .
I was expecting Gfriend's Summer Rain to appear in set 2, but then it appeared on set 4 lmao
Literally same
I SCREAMED WHEN YOU SHOWED YOOHOOHOO STAN UNDERRATED QUEENS HEYGIRLS
This is a sign for kpop mvs to evolve a little bit. Even the big and more famous groups have same old concept for mvs. Always individual members acting mysterious or pretty or handsome in solo shot with nice background and a group dance shot. Literally the same every mv.
clc seunghee in the thumbnail LOVE THATTTTT
Some things you might've missed:
1. pretty sure SKZ filmed [Double Knot] in set 3
2. Idk if teasers count, but LOONA also filmed their '365' teaser in set 4
I think double knot was filmed in LA (maybe some shots are in this set don't know )
@@lilys667 probably
i feel oddly proud of how many of these groups i know 😳
I was waiting for the tunnel 😂😂 but this video was great !!! For some videos I’m so surprised - haven’t noticed it before 💜
Amazing. Fantastic. Perfect wonderfully made video props to u
Idc what y'all say, Loona used the warehouse best. favOriTe mv is a masterpiece
Also, that room with the two windows, when it first showed up, the OrbiT in me was able to go back to LOONABIRTH days and remember the 1/3 ft Choerry version of Love&Live before it showed up on the list, and when it did show up... *BOOM,* Catharsis.
damn the white room with windows had so many other shots. On top of my head I remember :
- Hyolyn One Way
- Winner Empty
- Hellovenus I'm Ill
Good ol' Mr.Brohoho still making a killing. If you know you know.
It's pretty cool how they look pretty different depending on the lighting and props and all that
theres also that one specific theater and that round dome building
did refund sisters “don’t touch me” mv also used the warehouse as their set??😂
That's what I thought too 😂
I think Hala Hala too but I’m not sure
yes! they filmed that in nr 3, the abandoned warehouse
Yeah, even Solar's Spit It Out, I think??
"The warehouse with lightbulbs" is Cafe Valor in Incheon, by the way - it's not even mainly a studio, it's mainly a cafe but they occasionally rent the space out as a studio for filming mvs or dramas.
thank you so much omgg
literally every kpop video and their mom has that warehouse
there's some sets i've actually seen twice or more
1. the tennis place; ioi dreamgirls, april lovesick girls and maybe pristin get it
2. "the kpop tunnel": itzy dalla dalla, bigbang bang bang bang, bts i need u, monsta x dramarama, skz my pace and possibly bom 11:11
3. that big stone circle thing: skz hellevator, kim lip eclipse and victon mayday
4. in front of 'that building': wanna one energetic, uhsn popsicle and neonpunch moonlight
In the "big stone circle thing" you can also add Victon with Mayday lol
@@ari_1388 oh okie i haven’t watched that mv, I’ll add it haha
@@kweenyuri 🤗💕
Oneus to be or not to be was also in that 'big stone circle thing'
@@DJ-cg3fh I knew another male group filmed there but I couldn't remember who...😊
I think...the train platform used in I Can't Stop Me- Twice...is similar to AIIYL-Blackpink...idk..maybe they just similar or maybe they really used that same platform with some JYP touches in it..
Just to add on some mvs that feature this place too
Set 2 also got featured in
- Q by Onewe feat. Hwasa!!
Set 3 in
- Solar spit it out
- Alexa's Revolution i think?
Set 5
- Appeared in the kdrama hwayugi too!!
I think some other places i can think of is that other abandoned ware house with a empty swimming pool that appeared in photoshoots/MVs for
- Cravity break all the rules
- Alexa Villian
- H&D Soulmate
And also that big circular atrium place that appeared in
- SKZ's backdoor
- the collab mv between song gain and kim yo han for a variety show
you have a good eye for pointing out these things👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
