Point Break 2015 was unfairly panned as it was great for the stunt cinematography- It just wasn’t point break and should have been called something different and changed the names of characters
Had a skydiving history teacher once. Not a good diver appearently, cause he did - that I know of - 2 special landings. One on a 7th or 8th floor balcony. Scaring the lady who lived there shitless. And another going feet first through the roof of a farm house. It did slow him down and there were no trees involved ;)

The funniest part of the point break scene is that they wouldn't allow Patrick swayze to actually do the jump even though he had been skydiving before so what he did was he grabbed everyone that was involved in the jump and grabbed his own crew and filmed that scene himself without the consent of the director.
I really wish they had done the Moonraker stunt, instead, were he gets thrown off the plane without a sheet and chases down the other guy and mugs him for his.
Also, when he says that you can't talk in freefall, Patrick Swayze even said as much in an interview that you can't talk and have conversations in freefall and that the whole scene with Bodhi and Johnny Utah yelling at each other was some poetic license that they took and that it was for cinematic purposes.

Point Break 2015 was unfairly panned as it was great for the stunt cinematography- It just wasn’t point break and should have been called something different and changed the names of characters
The stunts are all cool but the movie is unwatchable lol. Just watch the stunts and you won’t be disappointed
Og Point Break is the better crime drama about adrenaline junkies.
New Age Point Break is the better adrenaline junkie doing crime story.
Meanwhile Bucky: Tears off his vibranium arm sleeve

Jeb is a legend in the skydiving world. He really does have a passion for what he does. Thank you Jeb for inspiring so many people.
My dad (55) has several national medals in formation jumping, and precision jumping, he was jumping 30 years ago!
I like some of the obvious things he says. "The goal is to avoid landing in trees." Some people need to hear it, I guess haha
You wouldn't believe what some skydiving students do and ho they think.
@@ilyafilru maybe you should do better ground school then
@@alletklameista Maybe. You're welcome to come check it out @BayAreaSkydiving.
Yeah, that was funny. You can tell the man has a sense of humour when he has lines like that.
I love this dude's enthusiasm and full body expression.
The guy is very interesting, the way he talks. May God keeps him safe! ❤️
There's 0% chance I will ever jump out of or off of anything with a parachute and I haven't seen over half of these movies... but somehow I enjoyed this enough to watch the entire 50 minutes of this video. Well done!
You should go tandem skydiving, statistically safer than driving your car and you don’t need to do anything except pay, sign a waiver, and get in the plane
@@IncredibleIceCastle Nope. Not me. I don't ride roller coasters, I don't like watercraft, and I don't jump out of airplanes. I like being on the ground, but I did enjoy the video
His talking about how happy it makes him to see people being terrified during tandems is how I feel about lighting storms. They're so fun because of how much they freak people out.
As they say man it's fast and Furious not physics class 😂

It’s awesome he happened to know so much about MI:F. Great to hear someone have a love for many things and express that in a knowledgeable way
The first Point Break is the reason I first went sky diving. Literally my favorite movie. Saw it for the first time in 2016. Let’s not talk about the remake
Saw it at the theater 😂
I don't know why they called it Point Break. There was enough difference in the two movies for it to be its own thing.
I've only ever done one tandem skydive and absolutely, positively frickin adored it!!!
And was I the only one watching this both with a huge smile on my face annnd mouth simultaneously open with awe?!?!?
GQ does prettyepic vids. keep up the content
So happy to hear about F7
Did you see the wingsuit scene in Falcon and the Winter Soldier?? So good!! I was very surprised
Love how detailed and educated this gentleman is! Actually very interesting for this digest!
The visor fog in Fallout also helped hide the stuntman's face, since Henry Cavill did not do the jump himself.
This guy really knows how to entertain while give educational information and description while telling a story. Think this is my favorite one of these types of videos.
Jebs a beast. His jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge were legendary.
really enjoyed this guys break down. He has a nice delivery and is very engaging. This is probably my favorite break down so far. Good job guys!
This dudes energy is contagous
I don't like corliss... Until this video. you can feel his passion, how he is living for his adventures and he explained the scenes great. Thx!
Tree landing is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get
Boxes of chocolate always have a printed guide to what's inside, you know what you're getting unless you choose not to.
In a bad way, yeah
@@lucasoheyze4597 Some guides are much more detailed than others.
I think the more accurate title is the tree landing being a spinning wheel or a rolling dice to decide your fate if you live or you die.
Edit:grammar mistakes.
I am so glad you had Jeb Corliss do this! He's so energetic and knowledgeable and his wingsuit videos are the absolute BEST
Shame they didnt use the Godzilla 2014 Halo jump scene. Always loved that shot, would've liked to get a real Skydivers input on it. XD
Link it here =)

That's the one i watched recently.
I really love Jeb!! I’m so glad to see him here!
I have watched Point Break 2015 several times, and never thought that the scene was real. This is amazing! Next time I bump into this movie, it will hit different. Kudos to the film maker to go this length to make the stunts authentic. Too bad that the movie was not as successful as the former one.
Anyways, somehow, I love listening to this guy explaining things, especially when a scene is unrealistic. His laugh made me laugh too. 😀😁
This is probably the best break down GQ has done so far. Love this guy.
I'm a simple man. I see Jeb. I click
The breakdown is one of the best series ever. Please do more!
You get this guy to react to Skydiving scenes and you don't have him react to the tank scene in The A-Team!!!!!!
i’m stoked they chose Jeb to do this episode. I don’t think there’s a more well known base jumper than him. he’s been doing it forever and has tons of knowledge on the subject.
Really wish they did the Godzilla 2014 H.A.L.O Jump Scene, one of the best movie scenes I’ve ever scene especially since I watched it in the theatre, great video anyways Point Break forever a Classic
Watching he explained things with gesture make me feel like skydiving myself.
Would love to listen to more of his experiences.
If I wasn’t in a wheelchair with multiple health issues I would absolutely learn to sky dive. Sounds beyond amazing
This guy is so knowledgeable and such a great teacher!
Jeb Corliss is like the only wingsuit guy who hasn't died yet
The vast majority of wingsuit pilots don't die. The skydiving pilots almost never die and even wingsuit base jumpers die less than people probably think. The ones that makes the news for their incredible stunts though (ie the only ones we ever hear about) yeah most of them are dead. Jeb is one of the only famous old school wingsuit pilots left and that's only because he's the only pilot to survive a crash
@@ncramz1662 That might be true but wingsuit base and just base is horrifically dangerous. All the dudes that do it know multiple people who have died doing it. Climbers become base jumpers and die. It’s surely the most dangerous sport
@@jeffroberts6428 yeah, well you're kind of both right (as much as i hate that disposition in discussion) to be honest. it's extremely dangerous, but of course most people who have access to this sport take it seriously. so fatalities are much lower than you'd expect, but like, anyone not trained for years beforehand would definitely die lol
He almost died. There’s a video of it. Bro a bunch of bones and still managed to pull and save his own life. It was pretty insane
@@davidbouchard8963 I think the illusion of high fatality rate is rooted mainly in the fact that so many *high-profile* pilots end up dead.
RIP: Graham 😥
When Jeb Corliss describes something as crazy, you know it’s really really crazy,
Jeb, you forgot the classic “Drop Zone”. The movie that got a lot of us into the sport. Lol
Exactly
This guy is so cool, chill, informative and passionate all at the same time. We need his Part 2 please 🙏
My wife, who is 31, has done both tandem and bungee jump yeaaaars ago, I am so f-ing proud of her. I am 44 and tandem is on my to do list.
Once you get on the plane its easy going...
I'm so glad Jeb didn't die on Tabletop mountain, loosing Erik Roner was big but man this guy needs to stick around. He is a good dude
Since Jeb talked about unison dives I'm surprised the movie Drop Zone wasn't brought up.
I'm curious to see how accurate that movie is regarding Sky Diving.
Saw it was 47 minutes and thought I would only get through half of it. But this guy is so fun to watch and listen to, I finished the whole video.
Did my first static line jump today with the army airborne. Almost went through the canopy below me, then hit the ground like a sack of potatoes. Walked away though. 14 more years worth of jumps!
