I just returned. All I really needed were 1 pair black jeans, 1 blue, 3 lt merino or cashmere wool sweaters, 1 fancier black turtleneck and 34 degree heat base layers. Everyone was wearing black and lug sole booties. All the cute outfits I saw on Instagram were nonexistent! If I wore the same outfit every day not a soul would have noticed. It only rained 1 out of our 7 days. I did pick up a vintage Dior trench but my black leather 3/4 coat was perfect.

We get very good weather generally in London in the summer months. So if you are coming here over summer don't worry to much about rain. Yes it is wise to pack a pocket umbrella and a waterproof jacket. However, don't go thinking that you need to pack a wetsuit and snorkel because it may rain for 40 days and 40 nights lol
My fashion-forward bestie in London wears sweatshirts all the time. It's more the mode of sweatshirt...neutral/black, and little or no writing on it. It's not the time to break out your university logo, but you can wear them if they are fashion-forward.

In case you get caught in rain I would recommend against a down jacket. Bring a waterproof jacket and a sweater and other layers for underneath to ward off cold.

Pack an extra wallet just big enough to keep the money for the day in, something that won't matter if you lose it, with an extra wallet you can leave your main wallet in a safe place at your hotel. One other point many places outside London DON'T take AMEX so you will need another card

Just something for anyone coming to London, you might be able to see in my profile picture I’m wearing dungarees, I went into London in this with a khaki coat and Adidas shoes, just an example easy to see. Depending on the time of year, bring two or three pairs of nice jeans pair of nice pants or dress, good walking shoes layers and jacket if cold and three or four versatile shirts. You should be good to go. Pack as light as possible. You don't want to lug bags all over the UK...

In addition to an Adaptor you will need a Transformer to convert US voltage to UK voltage for your muscle massager, hair dryer, and any other non cell phone, lap top, computer electric gadget. And no, you cannot buy one in London if you need one. My friend searched from Harrods to Boots and everywhere else.
I usually say to try to avoid needing to bring anything that needs a transformer as they can sometime damage appliances. You'll have hair dryer and such in your hotel

Not so sure about the tip on “no comfy leisurewear pants or hoodies”, etc., anymore. (BTW- NOT referring to clothing w/graphics on them or God-forbid, pajamas😬). In any case, that may still be true to an extent, but I’ve seen virtually all clothing types in both Paris & London and found, if you make yourself presentable, you’re fine. The same thing used to be said about the “no tennis shoes/sneaker/trainers” rule: that wearing them out & about was a “no-no.” But again, I’ve seen this rule broken by virtually everyone too. If you’re walking in London or Paris all day long, you need comfortable (but presentable) shoes & trainers can fall into that category.
Enjoying so many of your great tips but I do have a question about our late October trip. I have a black and white polka dot trench coat- should I leave that at home? I like that it is long enough to wear with anything.

I haven't watched the video yet but do you talk about bed bugs!? I read articles that say London has a bad bed bug problem and it's best to check your hotel room when you get there. I've also bought large plastic bags to wrap our suitcases in and keep them in the bathroom. If you could please do a video on this, Please!!

Hi! Thank you for nice video! I'm planning to visit London this winter and I heard that it would be tricky to pack all the coats and jumpers since it's too bulky. So I'm planning to take only one jumper and coat and I wonder if it looks weird to wear long padding jacket(coat) in London. If it does, what kind of jacket would be appropriate? :)
The best thing to do is check the weather forecast before you come. I would recommend checking the BBC Weather site, enter London in the search box and remember the temperature will be in Celsius unless you change it. Tomorrow they predict a high of 7’C to a night time low of 2’C which is fairly common, but we do get cold and frost and it can stay below 4’C or even 0’C all day on occasion. If it’s windy or raining it’ll feel colder. A long padded jacket might be too warm. You might want to consider a good water proof coat that comes down past your bottom and is big enough to get layers under. Bring gloves and a warm hat, you can bring a compact umbrella if you are the kind of person who uses them, personally I just use the hood on my coat, wearing a cap under it keeps the water off your face. You can’t beat a good undershirt (Brits call them vests) to keep you warm.

Whats the weather like in May ad by the way use bbc weather to check the forecast as i come from Scotland and its the only website that actually generally has the right forecast Xx
& if you forget a UK adapter- you can charge phone/external battery with the TV's USB port, until you come across a supermarket or 'poundland' & buy one for £1 (gift shops sells them for about £10 !). Just makes sure to keep the TV on.

Hello, thanks so much for watching! If you're going to a West End show, to see a musical, you can dress how you like-- some people like to get more dressed up (especially if going to dinner/drinks before or after) but if you're casual that's ok too.

I haven't watched the video yet but do you talk about bed bugs!? I read articles that say London has a bad bed bug problem and it's best to check your hotel room when you get there. I've also bought large plastic bags to wrap our suitcases in and keep them in the bathroom. If you could please do a video on this, Please!!
Never heard of London having a bedbug problem. That might happen in very grotty hostels but it's not the norm.

I'm not quite sure of what pair of heels might be the best to pack for london, should I go with scarpins? Should I bring platform strappy sandals? I'm going this may. Hi! Thank you for nice video! I'm planning to visit London this winter and I heard that it would be tricky to pack all the coats and jumpers since it's too bulky. So I'm planning to take only one jumper and coat and I wonder if it looks weird to wear long padding jacket(coat) in London. If it does, what kind of jacket would be appropriate? :)
The best thing to do is check the weather forecast before you come. I would recommend checking the BBC Weather site, enter London in the search box and remember the temperature will be in Celsius unless you change it. Tomorrow they predict a high of 7’C to a night time low of 2’C which is fairly common, but we do get cold and frost and it can stay below 4’C or even 0’C all day on occasion. If it’s windy or raining it’ll feel colder. A long padded jacket might be too warm. You might want to consider a good water proof coat that comes down past your bottom and is big enough to get layers under. Bring gloves and a warm hat, you can bring a compact umbrella if you are the kind of person who uses them, personally I just use the hood on my coat, wearing a cap under it keeps the water off your face. You can’t beat a good undershirt (Brits call them vests) to keep you warm.

& if you forget a UK adapter- you can charge phone/external battery with the TV's USB port, until you come across a supermarket or 'poundland' & buy one for £1 (gift shops sells them for about £10 !).
