  • The News were a powerpop band from Wyoming (USA)/Unrealeased tracks.
Eddy Delbridge (guitar, lead vocals and composer), Mike Fitzgerald (bass and backing vocals), Billy Dolence (drummer) plus Dan Potsma (guitar, backing vocals and drums on the song “ Stereo Generation"). They released a single with the songs "She's So Square / The Kids Are Dancing" in 1977 and a song of theirs titled "Bring On the Night" was included in the joint compilation of the Americans Ambition and the English Stiff records called "The Declaration of Independents» (1980). After separating, Eddy and Mike created The Free Agents. Since then, Eddy has also been playing his solo project throughout the western US, releasing an EP under the title “Sunburn” (2012). This edition has a design by Daniel Alves and an inside sheet with a photo where Eddy summarizes his story.
Almost unknown American group of that time. It is signed by its main factotum, composer, singer and guitarist, Eddy Delbridge, who continues to explain to us: “before the famous Californian band Huey Lewis and the News was formed, the News, a powerpop trio whose members were fed up with pop, were created in Wyomin. horrible, disco and hillbilly. After playing in bars, schools and church lobbies, they recorded a single in Denver (Colorado) influenced by the Ramones, Nick Lowe and the Moderns Lovers. Settling in San Francisco with a new drummer, they recorded a second single with a couple of songs that was never released.” Later the band would decide to break up because they could not find an answer to the dreaded question of “What now?” This Ep includes the two songs that were released as singles and the other two that have remained unreleased until now. They are four irrefutable samples of the best powerful pop of the time whose rhythmic force and contagious melody are still valid to make us dance with unbeatable news within the broad generational spectrum of rock and roll.
