During that time after 2020 Hell In A Cell, Drew McIntyre had a rematch against Randy Orton for the WWE Championship on November 16, 2020, and won the belt back about a week before Survivor Series where he went up against Roman Reigns when he was Universal Champion. That Champion vs Champion match was a non title match, which he lost. Then at TLC, he got to defend the WWE Championship against AJ Styles and Miz in a triple threat match to which he retained. Next at 2021 Royal Rumble, he also defended his championship against WWE HOF Goldberg and successfully retained. And finally at Elimination Chamber, he had to go up against 5 other men in the Elimination Chamber match to defend his title, and after he outlasted AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, and Sheamus, he managed to retain the title after a hard fought battle. Suddenly, Lashley came out of nowhere attacking McIntyre. That's when Miz came out with his MITB contract, decided to cash it in, use his finishing move, Skullcrushing Finale, pin Drew and became the new WWE Champion, ending McIntyre's second WWE title reign. Four years, he wanted to become a World Champion for a 3rd time and he did that at Wrestlemania XL by taking out Seth Rollins, minutes later, CM Punk attacked Drew McIntyre, then Damian Priest came out with the MITB contract, cashed it in, finished him off with the South of Heaven with a pinfall and title changing two times for that belt, Wrestlemania XL was pretty wild!
This man carried 2020. Hopefully, he can get another world title reign in 2025
