What they are doing is they are trying to prevent their baby from being stepped on. Did you see the way they were trying to put a blanket so they could catch the baby from hitting the hard ground. And they are also trying to get the baby to stand and start walking on her own two feet as soon as possible as soon as she's standing she can start nursing sooner . The longer she waits to nurse she will dehydrate and have difficulty standing. The reason why there's so many people there is baby elephants are very very strong they can knock one person over easy. And these Asian men are not very big people. So baby can push them around easy but they just want to get their baby standing on her own two feet so she can nurse once she is standing they will introduce her to the breast and they can unchain Mother's feet. But if the mother starts freaking out and running around could injure the baby.

How many people are there in the forests and plains with blankets to clean the baby? You are being cruel to the mother elephant and you deserve the same to be done to you when you give birth. Baby elephants are not as weak as human babies, so stop pretending to be doing good yet you are torturing animals. This is so sad.

Poor baby elephant! To be manhandled like that upon birth. The men attending her almost strangled her. Poor mother elephant! The stress she experienced when she saw her newborn being manhandled like that and she couldn't reach her because she was in chains. Why can't these people let the mother tend to her baby firsthand?
