Just wanna say thanks Thub. I started watching you maybe 2 weeks ago, super chill, entertaining videos. Well, it got me diving as well. I didn't find much and I only have a car, so I'm a bit limited but I've been accumulating what I found in dumpsters and went to the scrapyard for the first time today. Left with $60 in my pocket and I had a lot of fun diving and experiencing the yard!
M8 time stamp 42:13 those yellow tanks make great bells and the round cup underneath makes a great nut and bolt holder. Another amazing video : although , in my opinion it could have been a bit longer. Keep up the good work. God bless y'all.
I would definitely watch a livestream Sir. It'd be brilliant if it's an extra video a week, it'll double your viewing from us too so it would help you in the algorithm. All the best.
@15:12 *Try using those pex cutters to split open the little plastic solenoids you get from washing machines and dishwashers. Works like a charm. Just snip them in half and pull out the copper.*
that big faux-supressor is what tippman called thr "flatline" barrel! Supposedly imparts backspin on the paintballs so they fly straighter and give you better accuracy! 5th grade best friend's dad was hardcore into paintball and had a few of those a-5s kittef out for different scenarios and gsme types!
Hey Thub, you should grab a similar brand impact driver for your screws. They have a quick change 1/4" head that will lock in your driver bit. They're so much better at dealing with screws than the drill. Plus no more lost bits😂😂😂 love the vid as always
The other day I had a big non ferrous load, I try to every month it usually pays my rent which is nice. In that load, I had 89 pounds of copper Transformers at 20 cents a pound. It was 17.80 which isn't much, but it all adds up as we say.
Dyson parts sell well for me here in the states. I sell the batteries, the filters and pretty much all of the rest of it as individual pieces. I make anywhere from $200-$300 on parts and I get them for free or pay $8-$15 at thrift for them.
If you don't want 3 big holes in your stainless work table the try attaching a 2 inch slab of hardwood to top of table with a series of drywall screws from underneath and then lag the vise with appropiate length lags, you can use a 1/8 bit for pilot holes to attach slab, the small pilot holes will barely ever be noticed!
Pro tip, paint your Phillips and assorted bits a bright color to more easily find them or better yet upgrade to a hex impact and use the extended 6" bits or an extended bit holder with quick change locking collar Secondly your workbench top is quite low for your height , try elevating it to about bellybutton level and your neck and back will thank you.
Some of the older powertools like that saw could be cast magnesium. If you're in doubt then a few drops of vinegar will tell you (it'll bubble on magnesium)
18:16 For silver containing components like this, I generally leave them mounted to the pieces of steel they are installed on. It helps hold everything still, and the bits of plastic that stay on the steel, you get paid for. It ain’t much but it saves you the time it takes to unscrew everything, and for me it mitigates the mess it makes. Of course, if we’re chasing the silver plating on contacts, we’re just doing it for fun anyways.
I would have to say the reason that you didn't get so much for the small transformers is that there is 70% trash, leaving 30% copper. I try to break down everything with copper to get the most money. Even though you made a longer video, I stayed to the end. I am always intrigued by what others find for scrap, I have videos out of some of the unusual things that I have gotten scrapping. Take care my friend and I will see you on the next video.
Just need to lubricate those trumpet valves, you can most likely save that trumpet... How much it's worth is really the question, might be worth more as scrap metal if it's a starter model that's dated. Some can be very pricey and worth fixing
Man, I hadn't thrown a bit in a while. After seeing you do it, it's every other time I flick a screw off. FYI, DeWalt sells a little box of #2 Phillips bits for like $11
You need an impact in addition to your electric drill. It would make short work of that minibike motor. Either rip the heads off the bolts or remove them. Should make clean cast AL either way.
A small piece of electrical tape inside the bit holder helps from losing bits. Also you should know eating a kit Kat like that is highly illegal, snap each individual piece off..............
Hi there! Love your vids and have picked a few tips and tricks. Now, what is prepared steel? The two yards around me don't have a prepared steel category. And they also keep the change. (Which I think is a ripoff)
@@thubprint this is me lol. Probably one of the biggest mistakes a scrapper can make is not wearing a respirator anytime you are cutting and grinding metals.
Thub is great about responding! I personally always wear a respirator when it involves copper dust because there's a lot of issues that can happen, including death, if you inhale or ingest too much copper. When dealing with steel, I try to remember, but usually it's not big things that's gonna take a while. Aluminum definitely because that stuff gets very fine, just like copper, and it's bad bad I'd you take in too much!
What are your thoughts about scrapping magnetic stainless steel from BBQ’s and appliances? I get $0.25 a pound for it vs $0.05 cad when I sell it as shred.
hey there... @ 11:07 on the floor behind you is that a computer tower? if it is and you need help identifying it (to see if its worth anything) that's a pretty easy thing for me to do.... and doing a LIVE STREAM would be the PERFECT time for you to take the cover off the case and show the inside to the camera (but it might take a few more small steps after that to tell the exact specs... but the chances that if it isn't newer than 10 years old then it is NOT WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT.... but we'll never know if we don't look0! lol )
Yea, I REALLY think a LIVE STREAM would be your best bet if you DO want to make content out of it... I know I'll watch it.... but it REALLY depends on the DAY and TIME - BUT some advice from someone who spends MOST OF HIS TIME ON UA-cam: PLAN a DATE and TIME to do the live stream so that your regulars known when to set their alarms/make free time/etc.... and STICK TO THE DATE/TIME YOU SAID!!! - ALSO, DON'T OVERDO HOW MUCH YOU LIVESTREAM!! Some people do live streams EVERY OTHER DAY for 6 HOURS... and that is just OVERLOAD.... Most good live streamers would do it 1 day a week... BUT you NEED TO HAVE FRESH CONTENT EVERY WEEK, and THAT IS HARDER THAN YOU THINK!!!! What happens when you have a crappy week picking up scrap, and you have to dip into your "back-up" plans (you mentioned those rims as saving for another day) well what happens when it RAINS 3 weeks in a row.... and then the 4th week comes up and it RAINS AGAIN, but THIS TIME YOU DONT HAVE ANY TIRES?!?!? - What are you gonna do during your live stream??? Pick your nose for 2 hours?? RIVETING CONTENT I MUST SAY!!! lol But going live once per month is spaced so far apart that people WILL FORGET you stream regularly. So I would say do it EVERY OTHER WEEK. Oh and DO NOT include a ride to the scrap yard in a live stream... save that for the regular weekly vids you already do.... - Other than these couple of tips I'm SURE you'll be able to figure it out and you'll start doin regular live streams and people will be tuning in to them just as much as your regular shows!!! You just have this positive, witty, funny, magnetic personality that will just draw more people in!!! :D

The trumpet just needs new pads on the spit valves and the main three valves need lube. Trumpet grease will do. Finally in the case there may be a tube snake to clean them out and wammo blammo cleaned trumpet. Or take it to a instrument tech, ha.
