My oil exposure comes from Landbridge. Company that owns 250,000 acres of land across the Permian basin in West Texas & New Mexico (where Exxon, Chevron, Oxi etc get their WTI crude) which collects royalties from the oil & gas, water, natural resources, farming as well as general use of their land, which is now being used for the building of data centres & alternative energy infrastructure. Insane margins, low to no capex, all free cash flow which they either use to buy more acreage or pay out in dividends/buybacks. The company mirrors Texas Pacific Land (TPL) which owns just shy of one million acres adjacent to them and operates the same way, nice 55,000% ROI. Would love for you to do a feature on either !
Interesting company! Sounds like a bit of a picks-and-shovels play on oil. We haven't come across them before. If you're a premium subscriber, please raise this in our Discord server. We have a lot of companies to cover in the queue, and the ones from premium subscribers always take precedence. :)

Great video ! Seen as we are not close to a nuclear energy future, even though everyone is fomo-ing into those stocks , and green energy is not growing fast enough , oil and gas will have to be used for the next few years. What are your thoughts on Carbon capture technlogy in order to still battle global warming ?
Thank you! Well said. We've covered carbon capture stocks a fair bit on our website, take a read here: www.nanalyze.com/2021/08/best-carbon-capture-stock/
Thank you for the kind words. For us, we like to see our income growing over time, so we invest in dividend champions (companies that have increased their dividend for 25 consecutive years or more.) TTE is not a dividend champion, so it doesn't fall within our "universe" of stocks we cover. :) That said, Total Energies is still a giant, and it's interesting to see them having some success expanding into renewables.
Maybe CNQ (Canadian Natural Resources Ltd) would be interesting for another content piece. Not that big of an international presence outside of Canada but a decent track record of 25 years dividend increases and double digit dividend growth over the past 10 years. Thoughts on that for Quantigence portfolio?
What's holding back oil is EV battery tech does not perform as well as oil (gas) in terms of convience as available when needed and to quickly refill a car. Yes, eventually EVs will be 90% of the cars sold but we are still 10 years away. IMO.
Total cost of ownership is plummeting thanks to cheap EVs by BYD. Speed at which a car can be charged is a key factor, yes, and technology will help improve that.
That's always rough! It's impossible to time the market, but if you have a long time horizon, these dips will feel meaningless. :) That's also why we've always used a dollar-cost average approach.
We have in the past in our many energy storage pieces. Best to search our website. Lately it looks like they're being hyped and last year gross margin was dismal. We may cover at some point again if Premium subscribers raise it.
Okay, thank you very much. I play your channel when I drive the carpool in the mornings. You're influencing the future of 5 seven year old girls to become financially saving, an invaluable skill they don't learn in school. I appreciate you very much.
We'd have to ask him. OXY is significantly more exposed to upstream, so they benefit a bit more when oil prices are up, as opposed to XOM's hedged approach. Maybe he thinks oil prices will rise.
I see people asking all over the place why Buffet buys OXY. I got in on that big dip and cashed out. I won't touch it again. I most likely won't buy Exxon either. Looking at their entire history I think the people willing to take a slow small profit are the type holding it. I'm into making money, not watching it bounce all over the place. I understand it's a dividend also but compared to other winners out there it's meh. This year may be good for oil but I'm not willing to tie up money that will make in one year what this made in its entirety.
If you're a long-term investor, that small of a drop will mean very little in the long-term. Timing the market is impossible, so we like to dollar cost average when we open new positions. Best of luck!

Yep, I believe most of us and their grandmother hold XOM in mutual funds/total market fund retirements/nest eggs. Undeniably a strong company.
Well said. A nearly half-trillion-dollar company is likely to be in many investors' portfolios whether they know it or not!

It is in the Quantigence International Report with 24 years consecutive increases
I share the fact oil industry is at discount, but I prefer the french one Total, they have a lot of green project
