The first time that I ever heard this song was when Brent Spiner sang this in the movie 'Out to Sea'. His character was so outrageous that I thought that this was a song that was written for him only 🤣 It wasn't until months later when I heard someone else sing it that I found out that it was a real song. It is a beautiful song and I will always think of Brent when I hear this. Thanks for posting!
@@Adirondaque just curious but why the sarcasm? Many of us weren't born before the 50s to know that this song is from that era. I didn't know that was an actual song either. Music is one of the arts that spans across many generations and brings so many people together regardless of age. I mean I could name some songs that are classics that you've probably never heard of but I wouldn't use sarcasm to educate you on them 🤷♂. Lighten up friend and just keep vibing 🤘🎵
@@solanosmedia3764 I already knew of this song before the movie. It's a 50s classic and certainly wasn't written for Brent since he was born in 1949. What I found interesting was that he actually did sing it for the movie and not lipsync because he actually has musical talent.
@Nat In Technicolour Oh my goodness. You should write one where Data develops the ability to love, and he falls in love with counselor Troi and serenades her with this song.
When marimba rhythms start to play Dance with me, make me sway Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore Hold me close, sway me more Like a flower bending in the breeze Bend with me, sway with ease When we dance you have a way with me Stay with me, sway with me Other dancers may be on the floor Dear, but my eyes will see only you Only you have that magic technique When we sway I go weak I can hear the sounds of violins Long before it begins Make me thrill as only you know how Sway me smooth, sway me now Other dancers may be on the floor Dear, but my eyes will see only you Only you have that magic technique When we sway I go weak I can hear the sounds of violins Long before it begins Make me thrill as only you know how Sway me smooth, sway me now When marimba rhythms start to play Dance with me, make me sway Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore Hold me close, sway me more Like a flower bending in the breeze Bend with me, sway with ease When we dance you have a way with me Stay with me, sway with me When marimba rhythms start to play Hold me close, make me sway Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore Hold me close, sway me more Like a flower bending in the breeze Bend with me, sway with ease When we dance you have a way with me Stay with me, sway with me
Can’t get Walter Matheau and Rue Mccalahans dance in out to sea out of my head when spinner sings this! LOL! Mccalahan- what dance move is this Matheau- it’s the Brazilian creep
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I saw the dance scene and Brent looking mad at Walter when he was singing because Walt really sucked at dancing, lol.
The somewhat tragic thing about this is that whilst it’s SO sexy I can’t help but thinking of the context of the movie and then I end up giggling all the way through it. BRENT - dammit, you did it again ... 😑😭
I didn't know Brent could sing since I'm only familiar with his acting until I saw him sing this in Out to Sea. I guess it's also because Brent doesn't sing the type of music I normally prefer like pop and rock so I never heard him on the radio and I don't get to see Broadway shows very often and I'm not a fan of that kind of music. But I do have to admit that Mr. Spiner has a really beautiful and sexy voice.

@@solanosmedia3764 I was born in 1981 and can definitely appreciate a song like this when it sung in Brent's sexy voice!
I thought Brent was hilarious in Out to Sea. He did a great job playing an utter douchebag even though I'm really sure he's a sweet guy, lol.
This is absolutely awesome. Love me some Brent Spiner.
DATA NEEDED TO SING MORE IN TNG IM LIVID
Mia Mcawesome lol
@Nat In Technicolour Wait. For real?

@Nat In Technicolour where can I read it?
When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more
Like a flower bending in the breeze
Bend with me, sway with ease
When we dance you have a way with me
Stay with me, sway with me
Other dancers may be on the floor
Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have that magic technique
When we sway I go weak
I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now
Other dancers may be on the floor
Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have that magic technique
When we sway I go weak
I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins
Make me thrill as only you know how

So glad you posted this! I loved him in Out to Sea. I had no idea he is so handsome, though!
Madame DeFarge , that film did not do him justice
Gil f***in' Godwinn! Brilliant movie Out to Sea!!! Brent Spiner rules!!!
Well, he does look quite different without all that chalky white makeup and creepy yellow contacts he had to wear in STNG.
Yeah, me too!
@Madamdefarge7266 Brent stole the film...in fact, he WAS the film!
He has a sexy voice. I just met him this past weekend at a convention.
Jack Gets Lost Down a Book Hole im so jelly!!!
I'd LOVE to meet him but I'm sure he'll visit England :(
Yeah, he does. And a sexy smile too. I used to think Brent lip-synced this song for the movie but he really did sing it.
@@Elly3981 you should download or at least listen to his Dreamland album.
Flawless ☺🎶💙
What a man. ♥

ABSOLUTE GOLD
This is the best version of this song. And I love Dean Martin, too. But sweet god, it's perfect.
Again and again beautiful to hear him sing ❤😍😘😘😘

Well, Brent does have a pretty sexy voice. If it was sung by someone else, I might not like it so much, lol.
Holy 💩! 😳 This is amazing. Off to go track down a copy of this album!
He is awesome
oh u hunk, just be & i swoon! what an fn genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy cow.
omg i never heard this one! wow
Wow, sexy singing voice!😍
If you think Brent's voice is sexy, you should see him pull off an evil smile in one of his acting roles. He can make that look sexy too!
THANK U SO MUCH FOR THIS💋
I wish they'd let him sing in Next Gen
He actually sing a bit for some of the Star Trek movies.
Lovely.
Still listening
Soong build me a robot, but tell me you love me so.... Lol
From now on I'm going to pay closer attention to see when he's performing on Broadway.

Lol, Brent is an old man now... but his voice is still beautiful.
Excellent, but why?
Stick to acting
You know he's been on Broadway right?
