Such a fine balance between picking a game that isn’t so diluted (Minecraft etc) and finding one that isn’t covered as much but still popular… and you have to love the game! Good luck everyone 👌
The same thing happened to my channel, i followed one trend, got 5 million views on it and 17k Subs, Only bad thing was i was away when it went viral which means i chould not post or monetize my channel and that's what killed my channel overall, if you get a viral video on your channel, dont wait 2 months to post another video like me when the trend already died

Trying to nail viral videos and rely on that is like trying to predict the stock market. These 2 have a lot in common.
But even if you don't go for the jackpot you still need often to hit the right timing. For me it means to know the release cycles of the game and to know what people are talking about on Reddit and Twitter.
Good luck out there guys. I’m still pretty new to UA-cam. And I see issues with the videos that I post and at times I want to take it down but realize that it’s better to keep it up and use it as a learning experience. This video definitely gave me some good insight. Keep

Thanks for speaking the truth. Timing and a unsuspecting video can really blow up channels. Looking at my own growth I can see the vertical spikes for the 2-3 that were viral (to me). Now wishing/hoping for my next spike up. 🤞
I've been following a lot of your advice from your videos for the past 9 days.. My channel I believe I stopped post Covid-19 due to my Film course I was doing, but as of late I have had more free time than the average joe.. I decided to give it another go, dust off the old channel and get uploading again, I've since been posting daily consistent videos.. I've seen a small improvement Last week I was 45 Subscribers this week I hit 56.. That is small to some yes but for me that really motivated me to push further.
One thing is to everyone starting off, never give up, never quit continue to strive, learn and adapt! You will achieve everything you set your heart to.
The road to 1k Subs is a mission and that 4000 watch time is aswell! But.. it is doable.

Even so much to breaking down my funniest segments into UA-cam Shorts which is definitely boosting viewership, Just trying to figure out how to get those Subscribers and Retention!
One thing I noticed about the viral response to the Among Us video was that if you look on the app store, the Among Us app had 11 million downloads. This means that millions of people are watching, and interested in anything that has anything to do with Among Us. That's got to be related to checking trends.

I'll share my growth story for those wanting to hear other people's story. I did UA-cam for about 2.5 years without successfully becoming monetized (but I do have 1348 subs, 2128 watch hours in the past 365 days, and 5661 lifetime watch hours)I threw in the towel in Aug 2022, but plan to restart in 2023 for a while to try and get monetized again 🙃. Would love to hear everyone's story!
To be fair, this channel is intended to help out specifically video gaming channels. Your channel looks great though and if you keep it up you should eventually get the watch time you need.
i manage to get monetized in around 1 month.. and it only took 2/3 days to get approved when i submit my monetized request

If you haven't already built an audience with your first channel then just repurpose that for your gaming channel. Otherwise, the whiplash from changing content so suddenly might alienate the audience you already have.
Trend surfing is anti niching though. I almost feel like niching your channel is something to not even think about or worry about until you are a huge channel. The thing is if you niche the wrong thing you are screwed. For whatever reason, for example, shining force one, despite it being one of the best Sega Genesis video games of all time, for whatever reason, just isn’t trending at all or ever. My shining force one vids I produced pretty much beat the pants off comparable content I was seeing yet I know shining force just isn’t a video game people like to watch on UA-cam.
Please should I play a game that everyone plays or I should just play the game I love and I’m also good at , Will I get Audience?

Play games that you are good at ok I have my owns channel it called gameit2020 and I only do games I enjoy even through they are old but right now and can only do free stuff but if you can get a game you enjoy then do so

Serious Question 🙋♀️ I would like all of my shorts to be uploaded as 4k and the only way I know how to do this is to upload from a computer. BUT when you upload from the computer, you do not get the option to add UA-cam Sounds / Audio, and I am trying to implement trending songs from UA-cam instead of using Epidemic Sound. How to I get 4k shorts and also access to UA-cam Sounds?! Helpppp

I get the skepticism, but you have to consider that I have made this channel to specifically target small gaming UA-camrs. Additionally I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything but my advice comes from years of experience working on and working with other gaming channels achieve success. Here's a few of the channels I've worked with to see for yourself: Bombastic, Silkie, Jongo Phett and Nick Damiani.
