Hey I have a phone interview this week for UPS delivery driver position. What questions should I expect? Besides the weight lifting requirement of 75. I really want this job and I enjoy driving as well.
I learned a very lot from their micromanaging mentality, and came to the conclusion that two can play their game so over the course of my hundred and thirty stop day I concluded that if I could add a minute to every stop that would be 2 hours of overtime every day at time-and-a-half pay, so as safety was such their number one priority I figured while waiting at a stoplight it would be doubly safe if I waited until I could proceed the second time it was safe to go. And every time I saw a watercooler seeing as how it was very important in Arizona to stay hydrated I would stop and hydrate myself. After another such ride-along with a supervisor because I was not moving fast enough and taking my breaks and lunch time provided, upon returning back to the building I heard my supervisor telling the management that "jeff" drove the speed limit all day long, AND came to complete stops at stop signs Yes it was crazy working there but in a way it was fun and entertaining and I got pretty good pay to deal with those fools
I worked at a warehouse packing books...the company would hire people for 6 months (after 6 months the companies must hire their employee, at least where I live)...fire them for a few weeks and hire them again....just to keep the costs down and not having the responsibility of having full time employees. I met a lot of depressed people during that time...hats off for those who work with that...I worked only for a few months because I got a better job somewhere else during that time....
Then how does the package get to the door? Through security? Through access points at apartments? How does the 150 piece bulk stop to the big box store get unloaded?
DirecTV driver here. One time we had a horrible ice storm. It was a chore getting up to the customers door. When I went back to my van to get equipment, I watched my van slide all the way down the customers drive (long gravel country driveway) while in park. I'd say that's dangerous working conditions.

I have never heard a UPS truck use a horn. I have done deliveries for 15 yrs for other companies. And have also had UPS people just throw my packages to my sorts from about 10-15 feet away and I’m not the only one to have this done by them.

Well I’ll be damned, this company really cares
They have the ice walking school, yet there's still a video of a UPS driver curling a package at delivery floating around the internetz
It's almost 2021, where are the self driving capabilities?
A machine could not do my job lol
Self driving is too slow
Then how does the package get to the door? Through security? Through access points at apartments? How does the 150 piece bulk stop to the big box store get unloaded?
DirecTV driver here. One time we had a horrible ice storm. It was a chore getting up to the customers door. When I went back to my van to get equipment, I watched my van slide all the way down the customers drive (long gravel country driveway) while in park. I'd say that's dangerous working conditions.
usps been slacking lately
Says the Amazon driver 😂
Yep
Usps and Amazon are the only two that I haven't had major problems. Ups is the worst by far... atleast in L.A.
@@DJ-xx6fb tbh I work in a distribution center near LA and honestly UPS over Amazon except Amazon has more requirements and is more strict and UPS is more of poor management
I can confirm UPS have kept my parcel very safe, very safe in their warehouse since the 4th of January. I heard they deemed me a risk to my own parcel so they've kept it nice and safe in their warehouse for me. 😊😊😊
They still gon drop my stuff infront the gate
We are trained not to open gates unless we have a clear view of the entire yard. Dog bites and escaping animals are a real concern.
I guess I'm lucky. The UPS drivers where I live are really good. Never once had a package damaged, or trouble with one of their drivers on the road.
fedex be like: *just send it dude.
The only thing I can say about this from personally working at UPS is safety is a high priority, a lot of these rules are true, and we have to use our horn ALL the time.
UPS. Delivering your packages to the wrong address... safely
I was a Driver Helper. Never did any of that. Did it for 3 peak seasons. My last tour, went out with up to 300 stops. Some had multiple packages
But still ups driver in icy viral delivery video falls down lol
I have never heard a UPS truck use a horn. I have done deliveries for 15 yrs for other companies. And have also had UPS people just throw my packages to my sorts from about 10-15 feet away and I’m not the only one to have this done by them.
"How they save and cut time" by not following the rules of the road haha.
Thank you for your service!
It's cool👍
Good to see delivery company going over the top with training, DPD could take a few tips here instead of ringing doorbell once waiting 1 second running back to truck and throwing my package in the back before tearing off
I pretty sure most of it is a lie. Judging by the way my packages looks like when they delivered. 🤷♂️
I drive seasonally during peak season and actually have gone to one of these intergrad schools in Maryland. All those driving courses are real but the stuff like the ice walking machine are literally just sitting there and not part of the course. They do make you take a test on properly shining your shoes though.
*No wonder why Apple uses UPS as their shipping partner!!!*
I love it when the driver hits the horn outside. Lets me know when he's here.
Their training ain't gonna matter if they are asked to drive in India 😂
I drive transit buses and I gotta say this is badass training
How do they learn to drop it
USPS needs these lessons, there are so many accidents in my area that involve the USPS trucks.
This entire vid is lies...ups hires anyone that breathes and sends them with zero training.
You probably haven’t set foot in a est.
Wrong.
Lol some project manager said "just have beep em like a forklift. That'll do it"
