Spot on 😂
Another great video ❤
Thank you for tuning in!
love your videos!!
Big thanks!
Thanks for posting a lot of women. This is important.
Quite surprised at the absence of Karen Finlay, Hermann Nitsch and even Ron Athey from this list!
Nitsch is included in our more extensive top 30 on the site. Finlay and Athey sadly missed out on being selected. Have a great day Chris!

Thank you for the suggestion!
Some very valid points 😅 Thank you for tuning in once more!
As someone who’s been related to music and performance for decades, seeing Yoko Ono here was close to an insult. She’s a wannabe, someone whose name no one would know if she weren't an aristocrat and the wife of someone famous. Her performances with great artists such as John Zorn have demonstrated she’s far from understanding what she’s trying to do. Smoke with airs of grandeur. Sad to see the name of a fraud of such caliber, whose only merit was the same as that of many television talk shows, next to names like the great Marina Abramović.
Yes, a controversial pick, yet her career cannot be ignored; ".In 2009, shes exhibited at the Bevilacqua Foundation in Venice, where she received the prestigious Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement from the Venice Biennale. In 2013, a comprehensive survey of Yoko Ono’s work was featured in Australia at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in Sydney." Recognitions other celebrity-artists are unable to achieve. Nevertheless, thank you for sharing your utmost honest thoughts, I appreciate it!
@@contemporaryartissue yes, recognitions other artists are unable to achieve. But we all know why she was able to achieve them, that’s the problem. Recognitions and prizes are completely empty and useless when everyone can look at your work and see it’s all a fraud. Also, in most cases, recognitions are made from a business-thought point, so the one who gets more of it is the one who gives it and not the one who receives it, you probably know that much better than me. Marketing and business (and friends), nothing really related to art. But well, not everyone is able to achieve marrying a rockstar to feed her thirst of ego 🙃. Thanks for your response :)
@@contemporaryartissue Of course she would get "Achievements and Recognitions" everywhere! Because she brings an important name in used for promo and marketing. I believe that's the same reason why you picked her for this list. Better if you just keep it to real artists.
@@Amayusculathis is the case for most famous artists.

What's up! Hope you are doing great!
It's amazing how anti-Yoko the people are.
We are not anti-Yoko. We are anti-fraud, and we are realists. That's completely different.
I would say great are is not a commodity for the rich but a truth from the universe. Performance artist are a big ego trying to get attention with little talent, especially when the people are nude and crude. what and easy way to get attention with no lasting impact except and unless you are another performance artist, the cheap and easy art!
Agreed… except for that “from the universe” part. 😊
the universe as well as life experience@@tommyapocalypse6096
I’ve always seen performance art as the pretentious, but somewhat brain-addled stepchild of “actual” art. Art is intended to enhance and enrich our lives. There is absolutely no way that smearing oneself with their own excrement, or shoving vegetables into one’s nether orifices enriches or enhances anyone’s life. Two people staring at each other for hours, while inviting people to watch, is inherently absurd. The examples are self evident.
Performance art is little more than average narcissists with little real talent doing stuff, and thinking their actions are “important” enough to have other people with more time on their hands than actual lives to live to watch. And to have the gall to make up a bunch of “artsy” rhetorical nincompoopery in order to explain it is even more laughable.
That said, the ironic truth is this: we are all performance artists, in some way - whether we like it or not.
I agree
THANK YOU… you had more wisdom, intelligence, and insight in that statement than any of these performance artists have had in the entire body of their works.
Grab a hammer, nail me to something!
😂🔨
Incredible that you dare to put the fraud that Yoko Ono represents, on this "artists" list.
That says to me that you rather fall for "namedropping", instead of real artists, or that you have a particular financial interest on that. I believe it is the first.
We always use the Artfacts algorithm to create our top lists-measuring success by tracking all their career data, including exhibitions, fairs, biennials, representation, et cetera. By doing so, I do not have to impose my personal preferences and remain objective and art-scientific. Concerning Yoko Ono, her resume remains incredibly impressive, hence the high ranking. Yes, her fame and relationship with Lennon will have helped here, but think about so many other famous people who have a go at being an artist and are being rejected or unable to get into these high realms of the art world.
@@contemporaryartissue I understand what you say. I bet algorithm don't know much about art. But I agree with you that you need something to measure, in order to create a top list, because it would be impossible to do that based in diversity of opinions. Although I wouldn't matter to hear your own opinion/list instead of algos. But ok, as I said, I understand you.
Yoko Oh No! Time to unsubscribe.
Don't shoot the messenger-we are simply sharing the research results of the Artfacts survey. Have a great day!
@@contemporaryartissue Bang!
Yes that was a mistake but you don't need to unsubscribe because of that. Mistakes are human.
