I live in South Africa and own both an Okapi and a Kudu (both slipjoint versions) I'm one for wood handles, but I have found that I prefer the Kudu's handle. And it's my edc. I did think that it was very big, but I'm using it everyday and I like the size. It's changed my opinion of larger knives.

I bought my dad one with a ring lock, it locks very securely and the steel is really good for the cost.
It's quite difficult to close the locking one safely, my dad cut himself pretty badly as did some friends who bought them.
They also make a larger model called the "Eland"

I have seen the ring lock. And heard about the curs from others. No good. I have not seen the Eland though. Hmmm. Gonna have to look. Thanks for watching. Appreciate the support

Thanks for the nice video. Thought I’d mention that the cold steel (and okapi) knives with a key ring have a “ratchet” lock. If you ever pick up an okapi I would love to hear your thoughts in it.

It's a delightful food prep knife. I admit I bought both versions because they were cheap and quirky. But it will cut up a mess of food.

This isn't necessary a copy per-say, because the kudu is an animal just like the okapi.

i like it ,it really surprised me i could use the old red neck sharp test .i was shocked how it shaved the hair on my arm . i wish they made a smaller version
