It's not the same. Tail Number N3054V is the one that crashed. The DC4 in the Video is N96358 which was damaged in a runway overrun in 2020 and wasn't repaired ever since. Don't know if it will be repaired in the future or if this fatal crash was the end of the commercial usage of the DC4.
Crave Life Actually it was awful. The seats were canvas and the lavatory was basically an outhouse. I was 13 years old at the time. We could not fly above weather, so we flew through thunder storms. I did the trip more times as a Marine , but it was in a DC-8 or 707. In the Marine Corps I worked on the DC-4 as well as C-47s as an Aircraft electrician. The Commandant of the Marine Corps had a personal DC-4 that was polished to a shine that looked like a mirror. I only saw it once in Iwakuni Japan.

a little detail: "Berlin Airlift during World War II" probably you mean the Berlin Blockade which was 24 June 1948 - 12 May 1949. WWII ended in 1945. It was the Cold War, though. And those Raisin Bombers were very welcome!
In 1955 I flew in one from San Francisco to Tokyo. I believe it was California Eastern Airlines on charter to the Military. Stopped at every Island for fuel.
RIP to these pilots who perished in a DC4 crash this morning in Alaska
Our hearts go to the families of the N3054V pilots.
This is the same dc-4 that crashed in alaska 2 days ago.
rest in peace for the 2 crew that were on board.. 😢

Sad, the company lost 2 souls today in a plane crash in Fairbanks, Tail number N3054V
Flew in one of those from California to Japan in 1963. Something like 36 hours with stops in Hawaii and Midway.
Must be amazing experience! Thanks for watching!

Hi there .Wow.."what are those Missiles". Lol . Amazing plane. Thanks for info and video.
Haha, that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw those things. 😎
great video bro
Glad you enjoyed!
Cool video. But are you saying all his statements are incorrect, or do you not know what "myth" means?
I think the latter, rather than the former! 🤣😂😁
I thought the same. A better word would be 'fact'
My grandad was based in Raf lajes, Terceira, with the Raf, and he said the American skymasters would come in from time to time.
Wow!
Thank you for watching! Hope you like video!
There is a former brooks fuel dc-4 near my house
Please pass that on to the carrier

A good copilot doesn’t look up until at least 1,500 feet.
Look up you mean over the panel straight ahead?
@@CraveLife yes lol super busy in the right seat.

Long flight! Wonder how airlines made any money with all those stops?
Unfortunately this Aircraft crashed today in Fairbanks, AK
Not this aircraft, but another owned by the same company.
So where are the myths?
Exactly what I was thinking
Bentley taught me to fly when he was in his 20's
terrible audio impossible to understand with music on audio track and the chime when talking about myths
Hello Bentley!
Shame they crashed this bird not long after this
you're nuts
@@JustJohn505 Yes they did, in 2020!!!!!
