Okay, for the cast iron, answer a few questions you had; Yes, originally the soap had lye and that ate thru the cast iron faster, hence initial instructions to not use soap to ensure longevity. And that’s where current instructions evolved from, still not using soap. For your rust, use steel wool, NOT THE KIND WITH SOAP IN IT, just scrub it out and rinse with hot water until the rust is gone. This will get rid of your layer of seasoning, but seasoning is quite easy. Seasoning cast iron: the reason we don’t use soap, even though there isn’t any lye anymore, is because it can get in the seasoning of the cast iron and ruin flavor. The easiest way, at least I have found, is to do your initial clean, hot water and steel wool, and then heat up the cast iron until it stops smoking. Once it stops smoking, turn off heat and take off burner, then add in a high smoke point oil (we usually use canola or beef tallow/lard). We use paper towels folded up to spread the oil and avoid getting burnt, and then it’s best to throw it in an oven at about 200, an hour will work but the longer the better the seasoning will be, just don’t forget about it overnight. Anyways, if you/anyone even decided to read all this, I hope it helps and keep up with the good work, hope to see the continuous improvements
Same ugh. I actually stopped watchng his recent videos because of the abundance of salt water content. So nice to have East Coast and fresh water back.
I've seen gigantic carp in that creek too. They actually stock trout in there in October as well. That creek has such a healthy biodiversity and a wide variety of fish species. I love fishing there, never know what you'll pull out!
I’m just getting into fishing for the first time since I was super young and have been loving your channel, love your energy dude. Super entertaining and super chill
Next time you're there take the path to the right of that bridge and you'll come to a nice deep hole that's usually got trout in it. Right down the creek from there is an old bridge that was taken out and fallen trees in the water that has nice small mouth and trout! Let me know when you're back up north I've gotta show you some honey holes right in the bottom corner of PA
the best way i found to use worms in rivers/creeks is to use like 2 of the smallest splitshot container and space out the first one like you would with the heavier splitshot and the second splitshot 3-4in behind it so it first doesn't create as much disturbance and second so when a fish does pick up your worm, the fish doesn't notice the smaller spaced out weights in the current.
They stock Lightning Trout here at my local lake in California from November-February. They are awesome fighters and have a salmon like meat. Very good.
I’m telling you man check out Glasgow park with some minnows or chicken liver (some kind of bait and wait setup) you’ll get some decent cat catching that will give you a thrill
So I know this is unrelated but I'm trying to use a spinning reel and I put my line under the bail and try to reel it in but it just tangled under the rod. Can I get any help?
Myboyfriend who is a great fisherman said when you go back to florida use a bucktail and pin fish strip or mud minnow works great you will catch you a limit of flounder hint/teaser rig for flonder with a strip of bluefish pin fish or mud minnow mullet cut bait =big redfish.
Gotta go to the bridge near the bed and breakfast down on Appleton road walk down stream big smallies and trout run through there same with the bridge by elkton middle school
Look around and see what kind of bugs are in the air what kind of bugs are landing on the water try and match that as best you could and you'll catch everything in the river
What's your favorite fish you've ever caught?? 🤔🎣
Redfish cause they put up great fights
First top water northern pike
A snapper in aus
Probably a 38 pound and 32 inch Freshwater drum
prolly a 1 meter dusky flathead down here in aus
A worm and a hook. Literally the OG bait. “I can’t believe how good this works.”
Live bait is how you make sure you go home with something

22" Blackstone is what I like to cook on. Easier to clean than cast iron skillets and weighs about the same as hauling skillets and a camp stove.

If you're still up north, check out Unami creek park in PA. It's right off 476 and they have something called Tiger trout
I love schitt creek fishing.

I’m telling you man check out Glasgow park with some minnows or chicken liver (some kind of bait and wait setup) you’ll get some decent cat catching that will give you a thrill
In the reflecting pool? I've only caught bass there.
@@sjhudon386 the rectangular pond with the fountains yea I’ve caught multiple big cat fish from there plenty of times
I’m not joking but the best bait I’ve found for trout is fresh bought prawns.
Especially goldens
What rod are you using?
I heat up my iron to get everything loose then wipe it away then coat it in oil. The cooking surface never rusts that way.
So I know this is unrelated but I'm trying to use a spinning reel and I put my line under the bail and try to reel it in but it just tangled under the rod. Can I get any help?
What set up are you using looks nice and seems to be performing well
Is that fair hill Maryland
I live 20 minutes from this spot I used to go to camp right next to there it’s crazy that someone from UA-cam actually fishes her
Probably walleye but i love catching smallmouth bass too
I pray one day I’ll be able to go trout fishing
Always always have power bait with you, just in case you see a palomino and nothing else is working, like in this situation.
Cool 😎
What rod and caster do you use??
Where you at Ridley creek pa I know they stock those in there
Myboyfriend who is a great fisherman said when you go back to florida use a bucktail and pin fish strip or mud minnow works great you will catch you a limit of flounder hint/teaser rig for flonder with a strip of bluefish pin fish or mud minnow mullet cut bait =big redfish.

Nice catches tho.
Look around and see what kind of bugs are in the air what kind of bugs are landing on the water try and match that as best you could and you'll catch everything in the river

Yeah, he said right in the video that he wished he could wet his hands first but couldn't get down to the water because of his foot.
