    I am so glad I drove back in the 1960's, 70's and 80's. That was back when trucking was fun and actually enjoyable. The B.S. you have to deal with today is totally unacceptable and makes the "Job" almost, if not impossible to do!

      Everything is Mcro analyzed they know what you’re going to do before you do it there’s so much computers in the trucks and they analyze how you run your clock and where are you stop for fuel and where you park at night they basically know how you run and then they try to work the loads I think to where it’s just a little bit out of your reach to push you to try to get it done and if you don’t run hard like that then you’ll find yourself stopping at the truckstop with two or three hours of drive time left Or if you do it enough then you’ll re-analyze the loads they give you and the people that don’t run hard I think get lots of live loads and the people that run hard they gave the drop and hooks to basically they analyze the driver to figure out how they can get the most out of the driver

    You should clarify about fighting it off and not paying the fine... not paying the fine can land you in jail if you just don't pay it. If you decide to fight it, fight it immediately. Do not pay unless you lose and are ordered to pay. Just not paying does not make it go away.

    I got a couple mishaps at the moment. It isn't necessarily a career ender because after so much time say 3 or 5 years it's not relevant in the hiring process. All this is insurance junk and it's sad. There's some of us that are good drivers and good people that can get screwed over really quickly with the way things are. Myself for example I had a lot going on it my life during this period of time. I had my mom pass away and was dealing with a lot of personal life things and worked like the company wanted 6 days a week. Well the trying to keep it up didn't help. I wish there was a way for them to look beyond the paper and really see why a driver that was always safe and good for so long was all of the sudden snake bit within a period of time. We're all human and things happen. It also doesn't help that we got people looking into this stuff that don't drive, never have driven, and probably won't ever drive. The insurance has been given way to much control over things discretion should be able to be used. In a world where drivers are so needed you'd think we could talk with people and use some common sense to.

Negligence will always lead to minor or bigger accidents. There are some behaviors on road a person should follow whether he drives a cycle or a truck. My small suggestion or request you can say by putting up a training program for the truck drivers which will be helpful for people like us to understand and brush our skills before coming into the trucking industry. There's a right way and a wrong way to "deliver off duty." The wrong way is not changing your eld status and moving the truck, the way Ronan describes. The RIGHT way, in the US, is to split your sleeper. put it in sleeper berth, go on duty when you move the truck into your delivery, then take another break to finish the split sleeper. Totally legal, totally under utilized. You also are garunteed better sleep this way too, as you need 1 break at least 7 hours long to complete the split, definitely beats getting woken up and driving with no sleep. HIGHLY recommend people learn how to split their sleeper berth periods.

All of these can end your career and get you terminated so don't do them or you will be paying fines.

      So what? Leave room, if someone takes up the space, leave more room.

    • @Bendigo1
      @Bendigo1 2 роки тому +2

      @@paulne1514 I drive truck every day. I always leave more space than anyone else does. Hardly ever even touch my brakes in traffic. It is much less stressful and actually helps traffic get moving. Especially around on and off ramps. The main reason traffic backs up is because nobody leaves space for someone else to get in front of them. When everyone rides someone elses bumper, trying to block others from getting in front of them, if the person in front taps their brakes, the person behind them has to hit their brakes, and because they are so close they have to hit their brakes harder because of the delay from reaction time. If everyone does that in a single row, before long someone will be at a complete stop. If you leave 10 times more space, you have 10 times more time to react and most likely dont even have to touch the brakes. If you leave 10x more space and someone cuts in. You still have 5 to 9x the space so you still have more time to react.
      I know it is difficult for a lot of people with tiny minds to comprehend this fact, but the fact is that no matter how close you are to the vehicle in front of you, you will never go faster than them... so you might as well go the same speed with more space betwee you and them so you don't have to slam on the brakes if they do or if someone cuts in between.

      Unless you are released from duty, you can not go off duty. If you are waiting for them to unload or load you have to be in a ready position to be able to leave when they are done. Off duty means you can leave the truck and go do anything you want. I know it doesn't really make sense when you do it, since you aren't really physically doing anything work related, but Unless you have absolutely nothing to do with the truck, you cannot use off duty.

And, considering that there are literally millions upon millions of crooked cops out there making up false tickets and lying to write tickets, you may be turning away a perfectly good driver. Trust me, I've personally had it happen. I got a ticket in Burns, Oregon for doing 80/60 on flat ground in a truck goverened at 71 mph. Yeah. It happens to thousands of folks every day. I wouldn't consider that a texting violation. I had been working 13 hours that day was about ready to go home but after that ticket he pulled me over and actually arrested me for another violation of "stopping/blocking traffic" when I slowed down to pick up my rider. clearly had it out for me. Self driving trucks don’t have the technology yet to fully get rid of drivers. In 20 years maybe but definitely not now. There still has to be a driver in the truck.

    Hey, OFFICE WEASEL Ronin; take your fear factor video and put it in a DUMP TRUCK !!
    You're so afraid of Human Truck Drivers if your precious Canadian Government offered you a free EV TRUCK you'd get rid of a Driver to save you money !!
    I'm going to make an educated guess as a Driver of over 30 years....
    When the Canadian Truckers went on strike; you didn't !!
