  • Small but perfectly formed, The Beth Chatto Garden in East Anglia was looking at its best last April. This video was inspired by 'Chaldon2 View' who alerted me to its existence, Thanks Julie.

Lovely, lovely garden. I also enjoyed the mallard couple's argument. Thanks for sharing.

Magnificant! I wish my neighbour would buy a ticket to travel to Europe and view Beth Chatto's gravel garden! He has piled tonnes of gravel around his house with barely a plant!

So pleased you managed a visit it Steve. We loved Beth's dry garden and her garden at the back of her home. We have only seen TV progs. show her dry garden so the other garden was a real treat. Wish it wasn't so far from us as I would go back again to see the garden in different seasons. Thanks for sharing your visit. Warm greetings, Julie.

Yes Julie, just after I had finished editing this one, I had a look at your version again and unsurprisingly it looked quite different. The different seasons are what make you return to these types of places time after time - distances permitting of course!! All the very best Steve/

I know what you mean. You have captures some lovely trees with blossom and plants that we didn't see in June. I wonder what Autumn will be like there. They had just started replanting a new large area at the back when we left so that should look good by next Summer. You are closer than us so if you do go back one day I would love to see it your video of it. Warm greetings, Julie.

I could get quarantined there for the rest of my life, the only thing I don’t see is Lilly of the valley

What ever happened to natural sound. The water. The birds etc. Instead of supermarket music?

It was there xyzllii. Maybe it was a little too subtle for you. Thanks for your comment and I hope it didn't spoil your enjoyment too much. Steve.

Sorry xyzllii,no offense intended, but different people hear things in different ways. A lot of people cannot stand any kind of incidental music that they hear in professionally produced films, they say that it distracts them from the dialogue. I have no idea how old you are, but as you get older the higher the sound's frequency the less you are able to detect it., bird sound in particular. I have to admit that the close up of water running down from a pipe, did not appear to have any natural sound coming from it, have to check on the raw footage to see if it actually came out or not. Anyway thanks for the feedback, always willing to learn. All the best Steve.
