This is brilliant. I struggle making tactics, and even though you don't say anything revolutionary, it is a really good, simple explanation of something quite tricky. Well done
@@LewisH90 It really has. I managed to develop a tactic using yours as a base, that has become really solid. Also saw your cheap wonderkid video, and I like that you won't spoil potential, as I hate that from other videos. You've eaned a subscriber with some quality content
I know I'm writing this 8 months later and you basically threw a tactic together very quickly but do you not agree the right flank on this tactic is a bit too aggressive considering the Mez(a) and the WB with the default instruction of gets further forward, plus the inside forward on support who tends to make runs into the box? You already have an IF(a) on the left who isn't going to track back. I generally agree with having the MCL get further forward considering the static nature of the rest of the central midfield area but I wonder if it could be a little less aggressive like CM(a) or Mez(s)? I haven't seen the difference between Mez(a) and CM(a), they seem to do similar things. To be honest I'm very skeptical about using Mez(a) because I know he won't track back much and I feel he gives the opposition a lot of space through the midfield in transition in his defensive position. But I think if you're going to do that your full back on the right should be a bit more conservative like a simple FB(s) or WB(d). I also had no problems using a inverted wingback to cover the MCR's forward runs, but this was when I used a standard winger on the right and it made sense to have a player come inside because the winger stays wide. I set up my own tactic very similar to this one, came up with it myself. On the left i have WB(s), CM(a) and IW(s). I picked the IW(s) because it gives the option of crossing whereas the IF always cuts back and my idea with the IW is it focuses more on supplying the striker and IF than scoring. On the left I have FB(a), RPM(s) (but I found DLP and AP on support also work fine) and IF(s). I do think my left side is a bit weaker defensively when I use the RPM but the xG from it is higher so if I get a 2 goal lead I tend to switch him to DLP. Anyway even though I didn't agree with some of your roles and duties I think this was a good video to give people a philosophy on tactical approach so good job 👍
Some very good points in there. I set up my right hand side to be more aggressive because that’s the side I wanted us to attack with, the left was more the “support” act shall we say.
It would be helpful to learn what the different roles at a position really means. What's the difference between a fullback, wingback and an offensive wingback? Should I pick inside forward or inside winger? Stuff like that.
I really, really struggle with this. I’ve tried a number of times to get my local club Hereford save off the ground doing all the tactics and training but can’t get even mid table expectations. Cohension always starts abysmal and can’t improve it quick enough starting as a national C level coach
Yeah it takes longer with a semi professional club. The thing that will help you most at that level is the free signings you sign and the players you get rid of. I’d honestly just get rid of the high earners and bring in way better free agents. The cohesion will take a hit but your team will be way better so when it catches up into green you’ll be flying.
Need to do a part 2 so we can see if it works, maybe how it works and any tweaks you made and why etc! Great video and good explanations 👍🏼
Yeah that’s my thinking Scott, need to see how it works and why it works.
Thanks..really enjoyed
Appreciate the comment Paul, legend! 👍
nice little tips! always better to have your own tactic and these tips will help improve them!
Always love your videos man
Appreciate that Jman, much love!

@@SadlyNotDrBombay Thank you again Preben, getting more and more comments like this so at least I know I’m doing something right.

@@LewisH90 I’d really appreciate some tips for creating green links? Can’t seem to get them
@@adamthompson2451 The green links are from playing together a lot and playing well when they do.

I did a video on player roles last year but I can do another one this year no problem. Its on to do list! 😂

Great Vid! Is there a part2 to this? I am super interested to see how this has developed etc.
Not at the moment, I think I may start this series again as I wasn’t too happy with this video in all honesty.
nice video! whats the skin?
It’s just the default skin but it’s editable to put the backgrounds on. It’s on the FM forums in the graphic section.
@@LewisH90ohh i see, thanks lewis!
Pöease do part 2 as I do tactics like this and then lose
Likewise getting fed up every tactic I try they fall apart
Again started with Sevilla use common sense 523 tactic lose every game.
I have a discord if you want to join and I could help you with any tactical problems. Up to you man!
