For the longest time I wasnt a fan of purely instrumental bands because Im more vocal centered however when I was introduced to this band my worldview changed. The feelings they invoke are unlike anything Ive experienced. Id love to hear a collab between Dream Theater and Animals as Leaders, produce something like (but way different than) Liquid Tension Experiment
It is absolutely mindblowing how they can play live just as good as in the studio. Like think about this for a sec. In studio, they at least get a break but live, its a sheer miracle he doesn't have carpal tunnel after each show! These guys are fucking amazing
This will sound weird but, love Bloodborne and the Dark Souls games, not so much the music. Not that they're bad but there are big stretches of no music, only music is during boss fights when you're too busy trying not to die. So I turned the music off and just played whatever in the background. Got really into Animals As Leaders on my first playthrough of Dark Souls 1, my first Souls game and Animals as Leaders' first album to me is the Dark Souls soundtrack. This track in particular is basically the Anor Londo theme for me. Big beautiful picturesque city with a lovely sunset in the background. Perfect pairing.
Fairies Fruit he uses his thumb to slap like a bass at times and plucks the other strings with his free fingers, he holds the pick in his mouth (between his teeth or lips) and uses it accordingly, switching to it on and off throughout his songs. A song he switches a lot in is ‘An infinite Regression’ one of my personal favourite songs.
anyone who wouldn't be able to distinct the sound of individual drummers would have thought so too even though you cant see the drummer in the video. navene wasn't for the sound of animals as leaders. I like matt but he is not my favorite rock drummer. have fun
Manuel some parts, his technique is influenced from bass players, he holds the pick in his mouth for the times he needs it and switches accordingly. He uses his thumb and plucks the strings, using bass like slaps.
@@casperado666 yup :)) And "on impulse" is kinda easy as well compared to the others (except the solo obviously :))) ) I did a cover of it like 2 yrs ago You could check it out on my channel :))
This song makes my heart melt. Such an amazing masterpiece!

Its pretty ridiculous how clean they all play this
I swear. I started learning this song yesterday. It's so fucking difficult to play it clean
there is a reason why this song isnt really played live anymore. it is an absolute chore learning this song. absolutely beautiful tho.

Always feels so great to come back at this song and this era. They've grown so much since.
They've gotten more experimental since this
Favourite song by them, it just sounds so beautiful
It says Animals as Leaders but only shows Tosin. There are two other members that are phenomenal in their own right.
Animal as Leader
I agree. Looks and sounds like someone recorded this from the audience
my favourite piece of music by Tosin so far
maestro Tosin
Adobe Gitler gay bro

what kind of pick is that? it's amazing the way he handles it
Fairies Fruit i think it's just normal pick and he does hybrid picking

@@kenflesher6672Yeah but not this song. It's all hybrid picking 👍
He Used His Finger O Hibryd Picking...?
Both
mat gartska tho!
garrettak907 No Matt here, this was back when Navene Koperweis was playing for them.
lol your comment

Kenneth Santana you’re a self fart sniffer. But yeah the drummer in this video ruined the song
No matt garstka is wayyyyyyyyy better then Navene lmao
is he using a pick? I can't see it :(
Yes.

i think he explained in some interviews that he only uses pick for solos
casperado666 he uses a pick more than just for solos. Tempting time for example uses a pick for all the parts that aren’t tapped
That's a hard one.
haha, which AAL song isn't?
@@casperado666 david? :)
@@sdiabr6792 well... I don't know how good you play, but...have you seen it played live?))
