Thank you very much! i always wanted to build something like that. I just wish id would be larger for a lawn mower or bicycle and had an actual roof for with rainprotection
that is pretty cool but honestly if I ever have kids I wouldn't let them use nail guns (not until there in their teens) because one of the things i found out about them and this was when I was 24 is that if they jot a knot or a hard area in the wood then can bend in another direction and if your not careful that could go into your hand even though its not in the path or direction of the nailgun. Other then that again this is another super cool bid, keep it up bob :D
Hey Bob, thanks for the consistent videos, I admire you craftsmanship and willingness to share with the world. Thanks for what you do, many viewers think you are the best at it.
I love the fact when you made a mistake or something happen you say sorry and keep going. Some people videos look perfect and I get a little down on myself when I make a mistake or it does not come out they way it should.
nice spring build. I love it when my 4yr old wants to help with a project. he helped with the arcade & takes great pride in showing it to everyone that comes over.
I ordered your plans awhile back and built my first cabinet. I used OSB to save money since it is going to be in the garage, and I liked it so much that I am in the process of building my second one to store auto body and paint supplies. I don't have a table saw because I sold it when I bought a track saw. It is much easier to cut down 4 x 8 sheets of plywood and is much safer.
Men, I don't know you at all, but I totally love you, that's it, I said it. You're a cool and creative guy and watching your videos make me build my own Arcade Machine, just with a saw, a bunch of nails and an old computer, it didn't turned out perfect, but I'm proud of it, thanks bro, u inspire to make stuff.
Hey Bob! I gotta say, I thought that it was adorable and wonderful advice for parents. Also, I really like that you respond to the comments, or try to get to them all. It creates a feeling of community. Keep building and keep being awesome!
Thanks! I was just so glad to have him around while I was working.. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to encourage others to do that same. Thanks, it's always awesome to see comments from familiar faces on every video :)
Once I get kids of my own, then I will understand that. I know it is a bonding experience that you'll both cherish and remember. Thank you, Bob :) I will always try to comment on something, even if it is a "hello".
Great build. One thing I'd have done differently would be ventilation outlets for the chemicals so you don't fall on your back every time you open the doors. (I know the recipients should be sealed but as you said: "better safe than sorry"). Love your channel. Keep it up!
"Makes it really easy for me to get to the rake, so they can rake the leaves" LOL... Cool build Bob, I can see this design modified a hundred different way for the makers own needs. I made a similar outdoor shop cabinet but gave it an upward slanted roof with a little overhang and attached some 6 mil plastic on top to allow me to access the contents if I have to while it is raining and have any water to run off behind it Again great job.
I love how this came out. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you have the doors inside the frame but they go all the way to the ground, which is outside the frame. The part of the frame where the hinges are screwed to are outside or on the front of the frame, which allows the doors to sit inside the frame. That bottom of the door panel is outside the frame. Oh well. It looks great though.
I love the part where your son helped. Is there a way that you could do more projects with your kids? My son is 7 (almost 8) and he loves to help me on projects but I never know what kind of projects to do with him. I would love some suggestions.
It's tough because I try to work while they're at school, so that I can hang out with them when they're home. I do hope we can make some more stuff soon though. Do you have a scrollsaw? It's a relatively safe tool for them to get experience with and they can make puzzles, little swords, etc.
Every video helps me with my own woodworking projects even if they are totally different, always learning somthing when i watch these! thanks from Australia :)
I was looking at my outside storage yesterday thinking "I probably should build something to replace it".... Thanks for all the great ideas in this video Bob. Btw. The blurry shot looked artistic!
I know there are only 9 of them, but how could anyone not like this video LOL. Can't wait for my house to close so I can get to doing some projects like these. Nice work.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for. I actually had some diagonal pieces on the doors originally too, to look more like barn doors, but in the end, I thought they were too much.
I need to make a food pantry for our kitchen. I can easily adapt this by not making it as tall and adding more shelves. I've an idea to make it look kind of rustic like you'd see on a farm. Anyway , thanks for the ideas and keep making these videos
Good job Bob. Where I live we get high enough winds that it could blow that over, so def a good idea to secure it, even if nobody would be around it in a storm ;)
This video was perfect. I've been wanting to build one like this for my tools and such but wasn't sure how to get started. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Really love the opportunity you had to work on a project with your son. Looking forward to the same once mine gets a _little_ bit older! Cheers, Bob! :-)
Hey, Bob, a while back, I learned from Steve Ramsey that you can pack glue down into the end grain until it's saturated, and it increases the holding power of the glue. It's worked really well for me in my projects, so I thought I would pass that along
You could add some polycarbonate sheeting to the sides and back with a slightly slanted roof to allow water to run off the back. Have the roof overhang front and sides slightly to add to the weatherproofing. All these thoughts were going through my head as I don't have a garage or carport either.
Damo Vegan I do have a garage but that is my workshop. I want to clear the last remaining holdouts out of my garage so I can have it all!!! Going to build one
Looks good! Now that it's getting warmer here in New England, I'll start working on my outdoor storage unit. Also, awesome that you got your son involved!
You should do a HOUSE tour, that shows all the stuff you've made and how it fits in your life, how you use it, where you put it, you could even link all the videos to the projects, make it interactive, and get a bunch of views on old videos! Im sure everyone would love to see a house full of things you have hand made.
Regarding the glue on the end grain, Steve from WoodWorking for Mere Mortals demonstrated a good tip once. Try and push some glue into the end grain and then apply a little more. Hopefully it stops the grain from soaking the whole lot up, and gives it a bit more hold.
Very diverse hand skills, and occasional parenting advices? You have hell of a house, a beautiful family and a good boy dog, are you showing off bob? I am just messing, great video as always, thanks bob!
Want to make your own? I've got digital plans available on my website! www.iliketomakestuff.com/product/outdoor-cabinet/
I Like To Make Stuff great build will be very helpful !!
I Like To Make Stuff How tall are you Bob?
I Like To Make Stuff , question: with basic home-store wood approximately how much did this in lumber? Thanks
Thanks.
Thank you very much! i always wanted to build something like that. I just wish id would be larger for a lawn mower or bicycle and had an actual roof for with rainprotection
"They don't have to hold up the world, they just need to hold the cabinet together"
😂👌🏼
:)
:) :) :)
Another fun and useful build Bob, thanks! Loved seeing your son involved! That's something I want to do more with my kids.
Thanks!

nice spring build. I love it when my 4yr old wants to help with a project. he helped with the arcade & takes great pride in showing it to everyone that comes over.
That's awesome! It's great when they're invested in something and gives them pride when it's complete!
That's one solid cabinet also the dog seems he has taken it upon himself to be the overlooked checking that all is going well through the making.
I ordered your plans awhile back and built my first cabinet. I used OSB to save money since it is going to be in the garage, and I liked it so much that I am in the process of building my second one to store auto body and paint supplies. Very nice project. Even nicer to see you worked with your son. Well done !
Thanks Red!
I really like the way you incorporate your sponsors. they're not intrusive. simple and creative.
Thanks!!
Really nice to see you work with your son. Reminds me on how I worked on cars with my dad
Love the minimalist approach on the tools. Easily attainable for anyone. And...new music? I like it!
Thanks dude!

Anyone else watch with no intention of ever doing the builds yourself, but just liking the ideas and watching them come together?
Haha he says that it's a relatively simple build as he makes a utility shed look like a Victorian wardrobe!! Good work man and you're a super good dad
Hi I'm Matt and I like to watch Bob make stuff.... Thanks for the awesome content, Bob!! Really enjoying your channel.
Great build. One thing I'd have done differently would be ventilation outlets for the chemicals so you don't fall on your back every time you open the doors. (I know the recipients should be sealed but as you said: "better safe than sorry"). Love your channel. Keep it up!
Great idea!
"Makes it really easy for me to get to the rake, so they can rake the leaves" LOL...

Again great job.
That was a really seamless transition into and out of the ad. Well done! Also made that meal from Blue Apron look really good. Well done
Thanks Quinton! The shrimp was really good! It made me feel like I could actually cook!
Great job BOB! I need something like this! I love that you include the kids! I'm always trying to include mine in my projects!
That looks really nice there. Its aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Thanks Douglas!
There is something so relaxing about watching someone build something and seeing a beautiful finished result. Great job man, I love your videos!!
Thanks Jeremy!!

Using scrap pieces to mock up the frame depth is genius tip. Good work as always Bob!
Thanks Dan!
I learn watching from all of u expertise ,love wood work.
Great timing, Bob! I moved last weekend and the new place needs something just like this.
Awesome! Congrats on the new digs!
Nice build! Definitely help clean up the yard and keep the kids out of the dangerous stuff. Something like this is on my near-ish term list.
I love the part where your son helped. Is there a way that you could do more projects with your kids? My son is 7 (almost 8) and he loves to help me on projects but I never know what kind of projects to do with him. I would love some suggestions.

I Like To Make Stuff I do have a scroll saw. Grear suggestions! Thank you.
Awesome man great video. You should make a big dinner table for 6 people next would love to see that. Thanks again
Every video helps me with my own woodworking projects even if they are totally different, always learning somthing when i watch these! thanks from Australia :)
Fantastic to hear Bryce!! Thanks!
I like it. I want to make one that will fit the kids' bikes and scooters. Thanks for the video inspiration Bob!
I was looking at my outside storage yesterday thinking "I probably should build something to replace it".... Thanks for all the great ideas in this video Bob.
Btw. The blurry shot looked artistic!
Ahaha, it's "ART" :) Thanks Rob!
I love the outside videos. Great light and different angles. Cool that your kids wants to help.
Love your four-legged supervisor! lol, Handsome dog! Great project!
I know there are only 9 of them, but how could anyone not like this video LOL. Can't wait for my house to close so I can get to doing some projects like these. Nice work.
Thanks Victor!
I love how practical you keep everything. Good job, Bob.
Thanks man!
Hey Bob! Nice build. I really like the look of it with the hinges, gives it a barnyard look.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for. I actually had some diagonal pieces on the doors originally too, to look more like barn doors, but in the end, I thought they were too much.
Wow, it actually looks like a legit indoor piece of furniture. Very cool!
its really amazing watching you making those project. Its really cool man.
Thanks so much!
you deserve it sir. you are like an inspiration for people like me.
Bob that looks awesome and its a great idea for a project at my house too, im sure my wife will love that, thanks man!

Built one today to put in my garage. Thank You so much the video!
Bob you are very talented..thanks for sharing Bob.
Good that you kept the rakes low so the kids can rake the leaves..good thinking.
I need to make a food pantry for our kitchen. I can easily adapt this by not making it as tall and adding more shelves. I've an idea to make it look kind of rustic like you'd see on a farm. Anyway , thanks for the ideas and keep making these videos

I really liked this project bob. It seems very practical and from the video it looks really
Thanks so much Oliver!
That is a nice big cabinet! The height makes it look sharp! Thanks for sharing bob!
I religiously watch your videos and I have somehow missed this! 2:58am in the UK!!
Love the fact that you're super conscious of safety.
every time u make builds no matter how big or small I enjoy all of them
hey man don't worry about what people say about pocket holes. They have a place in projects, just like any other form of joinery. Awesome video
I am going to make this! Probably this weekend. Thank you, Bob.
Sweet! I hope this was helpful!
Really love the opportunity you had to work on a project with your son. Looking forward to the same once mine gets a _little_ bit older! Cheers, Bob! :-)
Pocket holes are awesome! Great build Bob! Cheers

I've got that leaf blower. LOL. The further I get into making, the more I get out of your videos. Awesome job!

After you have paint this cabinett, it looks like very extensiv ... 😃 ... good Job ... 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Very nice bob. I need to make one with a roof so I can put it out in the elements!
Yeah! Adding a simple angled roof would be a nice addition!
I Like To Make Stuff yours is great I would need an angled roof only because I don't have a carport!
This gives me lots of ideas for the summer. Thanks Bob!
Excellent!
What a great instructional video! Thanks Bob!
I wonder how long it took to do this. Maybe a day?
You inspired me to do things with wood and please make more stuff with wood. Stay fresh!
dude your kids are gonna be geniuses i can already tell

Excellent! Yes, I was really glad he wanted to help on this one :)
I always look forward to your videos every Thursday Bob! Keep it up!
Thanks so much!
Nice hammer drill action there, nothing like a good woodworking pun
This is easy, i could make a new wood storage this year following this instructions.
You should do a HOUSE tour, that shows all the stuff you've made and how it fits in your life, how you use it, where you put it, you could even link all the videos to the projects, make it interactive, and get a bunch of views on old videos! Im sure everyone would love to see a house full of things you have hand made.
Thank you. Very useful indeed mate. Love the channel.
Glad to hear it! Thanks so much!
