Now, this kid (unlike a lot of these "child prodigies") really knew his stuff, and played it cleanly and coherently (not just fast), and with real emotion behind it. I caught only one little fudge, and since he's FIVE, I think that's forgiveable...
Believe or not, I have watched this many time. He has very good manner. Allen's faces looked hilarious when he taught her how to say "My name is Allen".
First, it should be noted that this child is of incredible skill and ability. He is a prodigy. There is, however, one problem with prodigies. Having never gone through the suffering and practice that others must endure to become truly great, they have no appreciation for the music itself; learning the melody, battling to get it right over the course of months, even years. Prodigies have no experience with such things. This comes out in their emotion while playing. Often they discard the feeling of the music. They omit the sadness, the passion, the joy that is conveyed when a piece is played by either it's maker or a well practiced artist. Ryan here is no different. While he is indeed a musical genius, an immensely talented boy and a kind one at that, he lacks the special something that marks a great composer or a legendary pianist; lacks heart, and in so doing lacks beauty. He definitely has time to learn this, and I'm sure that he will. he is exponentially more talented than I, and cudos to him for his love of and talent for playing music- but he definitely has a ways to go in performing piano as an instrument of the heart as well as one of the mind. I hope that he sticks with the piano, and will love listening to him in the future- so long as he is willing today admit that he can keep on building on his great talent. the last thing that we need is another entitled child prodigy who believes that the world is theirs. What we really need is someone like Beethoven- Heart, in addition to talent and ambition is required to make a great musician. I sincerely hope that in the future this young man can apply some of his love of music to his performance, and really let it show.
+Merrigan I'm not saying he's a poor musician. he's amazing. What I'm trying to say is that I hope that he gets a bit of criticism and realizes that there is always room for improvement. There aren't too many child geniuses like him; but of these geniuses most grow up believing that they are perfect and are held back by their egos. What I am saying is that I don't want him to become one of these wasted prodigies, and that I hope that he grows up to be a real virtuoso through realising that he is not perfect (as nobody is) and always strives for improvement.
My comment was mostly aimed at your criticism of his lack of emotion when he plays. He is five years old, his brain is not even developed enough to feel basic empathy. One can't expect an emotional performance from a five-year old.
My daughter learnt how to load and play her Tinklebell DVDs at 1.5 years old, operating the remote like a pro at 2. Graduated to Iphone and youtube at 4. By the time she's 6 she's an expert playing with her Ipad - and shopping on Amazon.
1. Nihao - hello 2. Nihao ma - how are u 3. Wo de mingzi shi blank - my name is Blank 4. Wo shi # Sui - I am blank years old 5. Wo shi huan blank - I like blank 6. Wo bu Xiamen huan - I don't like Lei - tiered Hao - good Zaigian - bye Chinese class helps life skills 😂
PvMTreeFiddy yaa EQ, because he travel all the way to the ellen show, and did a performance, all he got is a suit!!!? seriously, who wouldn't be mad...So this boy got high EQ...
when i was in 6th grade i had mandarin class and even if you cheat our teacher won't care.. i sometimes run around in class and she don't yell or anything then she gives us high grades.. she only yells when she explains something and someone interrupts her.. i feel like me and my friends are one of her fav students
Frankie Tian i actually forgot how because i stopped going to school for 10 months.. summer vacation is counted.. so i skipped 7th grade and i'm now in 8th grade
+ll c For me it's involuntarily, i only realize I've added an accent once I've said it. I guess saying it monotonously would just make it sound boring lol
Knee How Mar - How are you? Wa..sh (as in "wash") Ellen - I'm Ellen. I try to "translate" to Mandarin pronunciations as accurately as possible. I think that's about as close as any can get. ;)
Why are all these kids playing piano better than composers I feel like TRASH things like this make me want to throw my piano out the window but this kid is amazing and super cute you can tell he isn't forced to play because he lives what he dose a wanna see him and Tsung Tsung play together
I want to know what the parents are like. Are they musical? Do they push him to practise? I hardly believe he just happens to be a genius... it's most likely talent + lots and lots of practise.
Ryan Wang, Five Year Old Prodgy On Ellen Show ( THE ELLEN SHOW). WooW, een mooi Pianospel! Categorie Amusement! Licentie Standaard! UA-cam----Licentie!

There are 5 ways of learning piano songs:
1. Easy
2. Medium
3. Hard
4. Impossible
5. Asian
"that's what I was hoping for" = "I don't know wtf that piece is" XD
I know thirty year-olds who are less articulate and well-mannered than this young gentleman.
Xyver Atuculate essentially means "well worded", it's means that you're able to express yourself in such a way that yoyr words sound like poetry.
When I was five years old, I could wipe my own ass.

The potential of the human mind is astonishing.
The rest of us think we hear and appreciate what music is, but what must *he* be hearing?!
When I was 5 I managed to eat a whole crayon
So cute
why do people put on a fake accent when attempting to repeat mandarin? Sounds so stupid...
+ll c For me it's involuntarily, i only realize I've added an accent once I've said it. I guess saying it monotonously would just make it sound boring lol
+Slurry Noises well, people don't speak mandarin that way. Still sounds stupid. And the parents must of cringed when the saw the blue suite.
